Great experience. Highly recommend. Only contractor (of 3 we consulted) who did not charge for the initial inspection and quote. Only contractor who was confident of what needed to be done. They handled the permits and HOA documents quickly. Job was done more quickly than quoted. All workers were polite and always on time. New Chimney looks great and matches our house color perfectly.

After having to evacuate our home due to high carbon monoxide levels, our plumber recommended A1 Affordable Chimney and Roofing service. George (the owner) came to our home within the hour to address our issue, which was a collapsed chimney blocking the exhaust. He was extremely personable, friendly, and showed genuine concern. He explained everything to me in a way I could understand without being condescending (as most specialized contractors are IMO) and we were quoted a fair and reasonable price. His crew came the next day to replace the chimney liner. They arrived on time, were very friendly and professional, considerate of our property, clean and efficient. I highly recommend A1 Affordable Chimney!

Stay away, bait and switch estimates, will will not honor "Life Time" warranties for exterior work performed.

Will hold "inspection approvals" hostage on new liners and chimneys during furnace installations unless you pay them $3,000 to redo recently done liners and chimney caps/crown caps.

Will tie all work, including exterior work, to internal "Liner Cleaning"

Don't waste your time or money with these scam artists.

A-1 Affordable is definitely an A 1 company! Kenny was at my house right on time. He was courteous and professional. My chimney liner was replaced by Kenny and Walter efficiently and they left my property spotless. I wish every company was as thorough and easy to deal with as A-1. I highly recommend them!

Horrible workmanship. If you want your chimney/roof fixed or serviced with a reliable company, DO NOT call these people. They were supposed to fix the water issue that was occurring at my home, I paid them and a year and a half later the same problem is happening. I have pictures from before the job and pics from when they came back out to look at the job and it looks like they didn’t do anything. It looks horrible. The owner didn’t even have the decency to get on the phone, some manager spoke on his behalf. Very sarcastic and laughing on the phone. I have a contract that shows what they were supposed to do and they didn’t. In my opinion, if you are hired to do a job and got paid, you should do right by your customers. Once again, DO NOT choose this B.S of a company.

I am responding to your response. It’s totally false. These pics are from last week from your technician that came out. These pics are recent pics, which should never look like this especially if you pride yourself on doing good work. It definitely was in our budget as we clearly spent the money. Don’t lie to your customers. You guys simply did not do what was necessary and that’s the bottom line. This is a testament to your work and I would only hope that people go elsewhere when choosing a RELIABLE company.

We had two old, crumbling chimneys repaired and another old unused one removed. Yansis and his crew did great work that we are very happy with. The chimneys are safe and look good.

This company provided an excellent experience with customer service, and distinguished technicians. They graciously moved my scheduled appointments when I got jammed up, and communicated continuously to and after my service date. Their technicians did a thorough review of my chimney and roof, and provided photos with complete descriptions of what was necessary and needed to clean and repair damaged areas inside and outside. No pressure and no hype.

I really believed I was simply getting my chimney cleaned, however I now believe I have a partner to help prevent potential fire threats.

The cost was extremely worth the value I received, and I am more confident in burning wood fires this upcoming season.

This was my experience:

An elderly family member of mine currently living on a fixed income recently had a very bad experience working with A-1 Affordable. She called them for a chimney repair. They were quick to respond and completed the work quickly. The quality of work was good. However, the bill was a great deal more than what she initially agreed to and we feel she drastically overpaid.

The A-1 Affordable sales representative rushed through the process and did not provide a written estimate prior to starting the job. In addition, A-1 Affordable failed to produce any written change orders during the time that the work was being done to receive approval for the additional work. The final bull was WAY more than discussed.

The final bill was also indecipherable (photo below). When asked for a breakdown so we could figure out what happened, the sales representative claimed that he couldn't remember the pricing and instructed us to call their office. Being a trusting elderly woman that didn't think this could happen, she felt pressured and in turn just wrote out the check.

After allegedly trying to figure out what happened, an A-1 Affordable office staff member ALSO could not read the receipt that their own salesman provided. After repeatedly calling their office and making a visit for over a week to find out how we got billed so much money, an office staff member finally called back with a verbal explanation that didn't make any sense. Their lack of transparency was truly both shocking and disappointing.

We also requested an estimate to have our roof replaced by A-1 Affordable. After pricing them out against the two qualified competitors, we realized that they were 40% higher in price. Once again, it was the sales representative giving pricing verbally, while he later stated that he forgot the pricing that he had just quoted during the conversation a short time earlier.

When researching A-1 Affordable we confirmed they do a lot of work for PSE&G. The quality of their work is good, but unfortunately it seems as though they charge private homeowners as though they are also utility companies. They are well established and have a more than impressive facility for a roofing company. Even more impressive is their employee parking lot, filled with Porches and other very expensive luxury cars.

Of course a company is free to work at whatever profit margin that they choose. However, being honest and upfront with their customers regarding pricing before they perform the work is something that any reputable company should always do.

Bottom line is that I would strongly recommend anybody considering A-1 Affordable to perform any work for them to get at least two other estimates and to require that everything be clearly stated in legible writing prior to starting the job to avoid having a similar experience to the one I have described.

I do hope this post motivates A-1 Affordable to become a more transparent company when dealing with the public, because there is no reason that any customer should feel the way that I described after working with any contractor.

Henry was professional, had a small crew with him, and provided pictures of the completed work. Pricing was very fair, and additional work recommended was reasonable and explained well.

The problems with our chimney were quickly identified, and thanks to your professional expertise, all issues were corrected to meet both code and fire safety compliance. They lived up to their 4.9 star rating on Google, inspecting, finding only the need for one minor repair in 3 chimneys. Prompt, clean and professional. Showed me photos of what was in good shape as well as explaining the minor fix. Definitely recommend!

They did both of my chimneys with inserts and all new connecting pipe to woodstove and furnace. I was very pleased. It only took them about 3 1/2 to 4 hours. They cleaned everything when they were done, including sweeping up the dust and debris. They arrived within 10 minutes of when they said they would.. Happy customer, Randy. PS they took old debris with them did not look for me to get rid of it.

I have used A1 Affordable several times to clean my chimney. Additionally, they installed a new chimney liner and replaced the cement cap on my chimney. At each encounter, the technicians were on time, very knowledgeable and professional. They cleaned up when they were done and made sure I was satisfied with the work. I highly recommend this company!

I had them install the chimney liner for me. The work they did was great. They arrived on time and did a thorough job. They even noticed that my vent pipe was broken and they just fixed it for me. I am very happy with this company overall. The only issue was that the person who came over to give me the quote was very pushy to get the deposit and schedule the work right away.

My fireplace was seemingly built when the colonists first arrived in America. The clay caracutta something was deteriorated & collapsing into the flue & beginning to clog it. As you can see, I don't know much about fireplaces. I usually get my hipster friend to delicately say a prayer & remove a tree from the yard before carefully piling them in their fireplace while whispering sweet nothings to make the fire light & keep us warm & entertained. Alas, this is something I'm incapable of doing. In fact, I chopped down all my trees, so now I have no wood. Fear not, A1 showed up as one of the highest rated chimney companies. They explained you don't need wood anymore. I was flabbergasted, so I continued to listen. Apparently, most people prefer gas fireplaces now. This was what they call a gas insert. Not only is this a new contraption that eliminates the need for wood, but I don't have to hire Dick Van Dyke (guy is 100 I'd feel badly) to come & sweep my chimney. So the thing basically takes care of itself. All I have to do is press a button on the fancy remote/thermostat they gave me & I have a really cool fireplace lit up instantly! It's also effectively a great zone heater. The service was great, the product looks fantastic, & the employees were all very kind & respectful. I always like to hear from my family, as I'm stuck in the coal mine during the day, about how great they're treated. This company definitely lived up to their reviews. The only issue I have now is figuring out how to explain to my daughter how Santa Clause slips through this gas fireplace though... Maybe my hipster friend can figure it out for me.

In a pinch i was referred to A1 ,after contacting many companies A1 was the only one that same day arrived, qouted me and scheduled the job the very next day. Large work crew arrived, within 4 hours fireplace chimney was recleaned ,New flue extension installed,3 rows of chimney bricks repaired,new concrete cap installed as well as new metal weather cover and thermo Crete coated entire existing flue.workers were polite, clean and worked as best they could not stop. Cleaned up everything single bit of trash that was created and washed down my parking lot where they worked. Now my family has owned and ran our own small business since 1937 and I'm 3rd generation and very very picky about workmanship, so when I say this company is A NUMBER 1, THEN THEY ARE. Definitely worth the investment

Really happy with A-1! They cleaned and repaired my fireplace chimney with thermocrete spray and lined my furnace and hot water heater chimneys with stainless steel. Their estimate was honest and they caught stuff another company completely missed. The guys who came out were super professional and friendly, called ahead, showed up on time, and did a great job. Would definitely use them again!

We were very impressed with how quick start to finish was. Within a week from our estimate we had a new roof. A-1 was extremely affordable, friendly, and did excellent work. 10/10 recommend
