HVAC reviews in Garwood, New Jersey

My husband and I have given John lots of business over the past 5+ years, including a new heating & air conditioning units. We called them them recently to come to our home due to a clogged main sewer line. The technician was there for approximately 30 minutes and we were handed a bill to pay instantly of $453.00! Im sorry John but you LOST our business after this exorbitant price which we think was ridiculous! Going to find a new plumber, GOOD LUCK with those prices!

Cranford Plumbing was amazing! Heater broke 7pm on Friday and they came to my house at 9am on Saturday to fix it. Reliable and trustworthy. Definitely recommend them to everyone I know!

I dont think I have ever had such a negative interaction with a business in my life.

I called them at 3:59 pm on a Thursday. The receptionist told me there were no managers able to speak to me about my issue -- they had all left for the day. I was surprised that at the hour, during at heatwave, they had all checked out and asked if she could put me through to someone. She did not.

The next day I called in and the receptionist yelled at me -- you questioned our hours yesterday, let me see if someone WILL BOTHER coming to see you. I asked her why she was yelling at me and she proceeded to hang up on me. When I attempted to call back, she hung up again.

I do not understand how a business thinks it is acceptable to treat someone this way. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

Very fast response in the middle of a heat wave. My technician was awesome! Super personable and thorough. Absolutely the best service. Highly recommended!

I am in love with Cranford Plumbing and Heating. They are amazing, amazing people. From Janet in the office, to John who came out. We had several other plumbing and heating companies come to tell us that we needed a new furnace. John opened our furnace, told us it was a loose wire and with a week of no heat and two little kids, we had heat in about 30 seconds. Amazing person and service. Will never use anyone but Cranford Plumbing and Heating! Thank you again for being so wonderful and honest!

Cranford plumbing saved the day for me. I needed an emergency plumber when I woke up to a flooded basement and no hot water. They walked me through turning off the water and sent someone over to replace my hot water heater. Thank you again for everything!

There was a scheduling issue and when I called to see where they were the owner cursed me out. He threatened to come at all, despite us having an emergency situation and they were the only ones with the part around… poor business and I’ll never work with them again.

Great experience. John was very attentive to my plumbing issue when I first spoke to him. The 2 guys that came out were very professional & did a great job. One of the guys, Victor was very thorough explaining everything that was being done. Working areas were cleaned up which I appreciated. My plumbing issue was very stressful to me & I appreciated the work being done in a timely manner.

They are an unbelievably wonderful company. We had a serious issue and John and Nick were right on it! They literally saved our lives. There is no one better than Cranford Plumbing, Heating,and Cooling. Janet in the office is a pro! Five stars plus for this company!!!

Extremely rude receptionist. After the third disrespectful remark, I hung up. Whoever is answering the phone is costing this company significant business.

Do NOT call these jokers if you're in an emergency. They came out Monday only to tell us that couldn't come back until next Tuesday! Are you kidding me? They said they are currently down 2 plumbers and couldn't even tell us WHAT the issue is!!! 0/5. STEER CLEAR.

Edit: Owner says they came out Monday, doesn't mention we called the Emergency line on Sunday and they didn't have anyone available, so we were already waiting. You did not specifically tell us to use another plumber. You alluded to how you couldn't fix it until a week later and the choice was up to us. Just don't take the call next time and save everyone time and aggravation 🤯

Edit : would like to respond to the owners review and state that what is the point of stating emergency services and then acting like you did us a favor by fitting us in the schedule. You never said to go somewhere else. We ended up finding someone way better. Russos brothers in Springfield (12/10 recommend). The review is accurate. Do better.

Would give zero stars if I could. Recently bought a house and having some water issues in our basement. It reached a critical point last night. Called the number and they said they would take down my info and get back to us today.

After making a big deal of receiving payment same day the technician proceeds to only look at it and then says it can be scheduled for next Tuesday due to short staffed. Do you think I called 11 pm Sunday for no reason ?! Water is currently shut off . They told us just turn it off and on. Um what ? The last leak started after a shower last night, unacceptable . Unprofessional. Avoid at all costs.

I have been using Cranford Plumbing for my circa 1919 home for nearly four years. They have done routine care, such as servicing our steam boiler every fall; multiple projects such as replacing pipes and our sump pump; and plenty of emergency work for both heating and plumbing and I can say without a doubt, they are by far the most skilled, professional, honest, and genuinely helpful group of heating & cooling professionals hands down. We tried other "names" in the area and were quite frankly appalled at what passed for knowledge and service. Save yourself the time and headache we had to deal with and just call Cranford Plumbing. Worth every penny.

I have an air-condition guy who is a one-man company. He is good, but when my ac went out the morning of the heatwave, he was not available. I started calling many AC companies and was told 2 to 7 days wait. Finally, I got Janet at Cranford Heating & Cooling. Sometime, not often, you get a person who is organized and can figure out how to solve a problem. She said she would dispatch a truck that afternoon. Because she keeps a tight itinerary on her crew, they were able to visit my house. We selected a new AC unit, and within 2 days it was installed. This is now my go to company for issues of heating and cooling. I suggest you give them a try.

I contacted Cranford Plumbing to do the annual service on a boiler. They were very flexible and communicative during scheduling and the technician was timely, courteous, and explained everything he was doing including user maintenance I should follow. He wore shoe covers (without being asked), was good with dogs, and was very thorough. Price was exactly as quoted over the phone, no surprises.

Responsive, knowledgeable and even offered some useful advice over the phone instead of charging me for a visit. I must have called 10 other local HVAC companies to try to schedule an appointment, and they either didn't answer, didn't respond or spoke with me and said they would get back to me and never did. I would recommend Matrix Heating & Cooling based on the customer service alone!
