Plumbing reviews in Gibbstown, New Jersey

I'm posting 5 stars for workmanship and how well the Jersey Boys Plumbing Co. took advantage of a situation.
The service call was Monday, January 26th, after the snow and ice storm. The repair/replacement was for an exterior hose bib, 5 feet of copper pipe and the installment of 1/2" full-port ball valve. 3 tasks and maybe 1or 1 1/2 hrs of work.
Total Charge with a $50.00 discount: $1,172.88
I paid in full. I had nothing to base cost on and no-one to educate me. Until neighbors were told about the price I paid, I
was happy my cellar did not flood.
Here's what others and another plumber said:
Jersey Boys took advantage of the situation, your senior years and urgency of service. You should have been charged between $350.00 to $500.00.
A few days later when temps were in the teens, an interior pipe froze, not allowing the utility tub or washing machine to drain. Another plumbing company replaced copper tubing, installed 2 tub shut-offs, new faucet for the tub, hot and cold spigots to the washing machine, replaced the cracked drain pipe that froze and installed
a whole house 1/2" full-port ball valve in the basement.
Total cost: $750.00
I requested a financial reimbursement from Jersey Boys.
Their answer "NO reimbursement for our work".
I have no plumbing background. The plumbing tech played on me and wife's flooded basement fear and good nature.
With so many plumbers competing, why gouge or cheat and ruin a possibility of future work or referrals? -
I spoke with Jackie, who is incredibly great at her job. She was thorough, answered all my questions and concerns, and was a pleasure to speak with. She gave me all the information I needed and pointed me in the right direction of services for a faucet replacement. Was able to get me scheduled that same day! So appreciative. Thank you so much!

Jersey Boys helped my Mother with the purchase & installation of a new water heater for her home. John came out to assess the situation with the help of his coworker Hunter. Both guys were super thorough. John took his time to explain everything that needed to be done. He was Understanding & considerate of the fact that a repair such as this is no drop in the bucket, for the majority of people. Financing over a period of time is an option which is comforting. We are a working class family & John himself is a working class man, so you know he gets it! Family owned businesses are built different & I highly recommend reaching out to Jersey Boys for Plumbing & HVac services! They just get it!

Jersey Boys Plumbing is by far the most reliable company in our area. We had frozen & burst pipes in our crawl space after these recent freezing temperatures. We called multiple local plumbers over the last few days and were extremely disappointed in the lack of response, direction, or help we received from the others. Jersey Boys fit us in without hesitation. John & Andrew responded with courtesy and professionalism. They explained the issue the found and quoted us a fair price to resolve. They were able to fix our pipe during the first visit and set expectations for our next steps. When everyone else falls short, Jersey Boys handle business. Thank you John, Andrew, Chris, and the rest of the boys.

I really wanted to review Jersey Boys Plumbing because Hunter was really professional, asking questions to know how to serve us better and understand what was really going on, he took the time to lessen and then took the appropriate action.
It's nice having business that do the job as promised.
You got what you paid for.
So I recommend for sure! -
TLDR: Lied to me about pricing, didn’t fix issue, and won’t honor work without the threat of an inspection charge. Call ANYONE else. (waited over a week for a call back to try and make this right before posting this review)

Called Jersey Boys out to replace a wax seal on my toilet. For starters, they charge an $85 inspection fee just to come out if you decide to not move forward with work (which is completely understandable but will be important later). Guy came out and said it was $500 to JUST pull the toilet alone (insane), and said I would get $250 of that back if the repair was $1000+. However, after he quoted $1100 to replace the flange that was rusted out, he said that I’d only get the $250 back if it was a $2500 repair. When I called him out on this switch-up he said he was just using “laymans terms” to explain how the charge works. Reluctantly, I went through with it since my 9-month pregnant wife couldn’t wait any longer for me to get someone else out. Guy was here for just over 2 hours total (timed it on my phone) about 15 of which was speant outside talking on the phone.
Over the next 2ish weeks I noticed the toilet was flushing weird and there was a bit of an odd smell. I tried to convince myself it was just in my head until the toilet overflowed. And, with my luck, happened to be on the day my wife went into labor. When I called their dispatcher to get someone back out, she said that they will honor their work up to a year, but if it’s something different they will have to charge for it (probably should’ve recognized the “other issue” the first time but no problem makes sense). However, if they find something else, and I decide not to use them, I will have to pay the $85 inspection charge.
This is what sent me. I completely understand the purpose of that change so people don’t waste their time for a simple quote when they can be out doing actual jobs. However, in my case, I was only calling them back to look at something I already paid an egregious amount for. Now I need to be locked into whatever other astronomical price they charge me, for an issue they most likely “missed” the first time, without paying a fee? Personally, as a small business owner, that’s terrible business.
So after some not-so-nice back and fourth with dispatcher, she said she’ll have the tech call me to work it out. That was over a week ago and not a peep. I’d rather pay another $1600 to someone else than give these guys another dime.
I really hate leaving bad reviews since I understand shit happens sometimes, but if I could save someone else the hassle then I’ll call it a win. So, if considering calling Jersey Boys, I would advise to maybe try Zoom Drain instead who I’ve had clients have good experiences with. Or, better yet, a local guy who I would expect to have more integrity than this company. -
John and hunter did a great job installing our hot water heater. Very nice and personable. I will say that I paid top dollar for the hot water heater install and removal. $3,100 to be exact. If ur on a tight budget call around for sure
