Before I called Chris, I met with people from several companies while searching for solutions to a drainage problem that was causing water damage in my basement. Several immediately recommended digging trenches in the basement at huge expense for reasons that never quite made sense.

I did an online search and found Chris, and I am so glad I did. He came out quickly, spent a good amount of time examining our yard and home, even digging in the dirt with his hands at one point. He explained how a problem in the front of our house was creating the leak and then demonstrated with a hose.

The solution he came up with - a new gutter system - was both more effective and more affordable than other quick-answer guys’ solutions - and it has stood the test of several storms.

Chris even followed up after the first of those storms to make sure the new system worked, and we happily reported that it did. Best of all, it still does.

Did not appreciate his attitude towards our project nor did I appreciate how he ended his work. The whole process was a headache for me, leaving me very unsatisfied. I found him because of the google reviews but I wish I had gone to someone else more reliable. I am sure he is good at what he does but he cared very little about perhaps what may have been a small budget project for him. Very lacking in communication.

Not only did he patiently/throughly walked through the problems and his proposals, he made sure I felt comfortable going forward with the project. Once he started the job, he went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly and even did things outside of the original scope of work because he felt it was the right thing to do.

I’m very happy with the result of his work as we just had a major storm and no water accumulated at the walkway nor did any get into the basement!

We hired Hillsdale Landscaping to address a drainage issue in our yard. Water was coming into our yard, flowing right into our foundation and pooling at the front of the house. When Chris first came by, he was able to see the water problems right away and proposed installing a curtain drain to redirect the water. He walked our entire property to find our gutter drainage had issues as well. His inspection was extremely thorough and he was very patient to answer our many questions.

When it came down to getting the job done, Chris was an pleasure to deal with. He and his crew showed up as promised and worked through to completion, checking in with me periodically along the way. When I had an additional request, he was able to figure out how to get it done right away without any complaints. At one point he found a wasps' nest, was able to neutralize it, and left me with a can of wasp killer spray. All the work was completed at the originally quoted price without any nickeling and diming along the way. I am extremely happy with the work and will hire them again for the next outdoor project.

I contacted Hillsdale landscaping regarding water accumulation in my basement and surrounding areas in my yard. I received a phone call back within the hour and Chris the owner came out for a very detailed and lengthy drainage consultation. He provided several avenues of approach while keeping our budget as a top priority. He touched on so many points I actually had to take out my phone to take notes. We had other companies come out that really didn’t have any of his ideas and their price point was significantly higher while none of them addressed any of the water on the outside of the property. We hired Chris for what he recommended being a priority, and after the last several heavy storms, we had absolutely not a drop of water in the basement and our yard had no visible pooling. His attention to detail while carefully working around our gardens really showed his passion for his work. It was actually nice being able to walk through it without my shoes being covered in mud and my dog coming in the house without us having to bathe him. Start to finish turnaround time was very quick, and it seemed like he brought all the proper equipment to get the job done quickly and allow us to get back to using our backyard. Or at least so the dog can run around and play. We highly recommend Hillsdale Landscaping and will be planning to use them for a new patio and steps in the spring.

I hired Hillsdale Landscaping & Construction to renovate my 70 eras basement and I’m so happy I chose them among a sea of contractors. We had a small project in our backyard that we called Chris in for. He presented a lot of options, explained the benefits of each, and described how the work would be done. Every time it rained we would get puddles all over the yard since it was all uneven, water had no place to drain and then some. Very annoying & frustrating. Chris came over, went over in great detail everything that needed to be addressed and gave us a fair estimate. A few weeks later he and his team took care of our yard water drainage issues and leveled the front side/yard side of the house, removed bush roots/stumps and cement stones off the ground. In the pics attached you’ll see before, during, and 5 months later. No more puddles, floods or natures swimming pools. Chris has helped us out immensely! Initially Chris came for a broken gutter consultation due to water issues affecting the interior of our home. Chris realized the issue was broken underground drainage pipes that allowed water to pool at the foundation of our home. Chris and his team helped fix our gutter issue and helped us completely eradicate our water issues by creating proper drainage and grading of our property and resealed the foundation on our home to alleviate any possibility of leaks. Chris and his team has also beautifully designed and installed a patio and flower beds in our backyard and applied sod to all areas where work was done. Our backyard looks amazing! Chris was honest and helpful in understanding the issues we were having and the best ways to fix them. He was very fair on pricing and also helped us with our insurance due to the water issues. Chris was here everyday from the first visit to the end result and we really appreciate all the work he did to make our home safe and beautiful!

I recently had the pleasure of working with Chris to fix some drainage issues at my house that caused basement flooding and water pooling all around the property.
