Every time the furnace got turned on for the season, the first few times in the fall, we would get a heavy burnt smell. I called Concord and they did a very thorough air duct cleaning, then fixed the problem by cleaning up the thick layer of household dust that had settled directly on top of the heat exchanger and the walls of the surrounding ducts. This year, the transition to heating was odor-free and clean!

Our Ho-Ho-Kus neighborhood features several homes with crushed bluestone driveways and that fine mineral dust travels everywhere even into our HVAC system intake. When we had our air ducts cleaned with Concord, the techs uncovered quite a significant amount of fine grey silt that had accumulated in the main trunk. Removing this abrasive material has made a huge difference in the sound of the system!
