I can't even begin to tell you how painful it is dealing with this company. So my oil burner craps out every year. We have the "basic service" plan with them, which in calling them they acutally laughed at me about, and automatic delivery, where we've run out of oil 4 times in 8 years, and I get treated like they are doing me a favor by coming out to fix my oil burner. The entire phone staff is rude. Calling to tell them I have no heat today I get "well it's a busy day for us. You think you're the only one without heat?" Excuse me? Seriously? Please please please take the advice of pretty much everyone that has written a review and find a different oil company. These guys are beyond the worst, they shouldn't even be in business. Next step, complain with BBB.

Its too bad it seems many people have had bad experiences with this company. I have been with them a couple years now and have not had one bad experience. I switched because I was a Petro customer and had many bad experiences with that company. With Dixon, every time i have had to call them the people I speak with are courteous and friendly. I have never had a problem with any of the service people that have come to my house. Honestly a lot of the negative complaints people are making in their reviews sound like whining to me. When you sign up for a service plan / delivery contract with ANY company, you are going to pay more than whatever rate you get if you call around for COD prices. When you are on auto delivery it takes a while for ANY company to figure out your usage patterns and get the timing on your deliveries right. Even then, sometimes you will have to call them and say hey I am almost out of oil, can you schedule a delivery. Its not rocket science. Check your tank, if its low, call. In one of these reviews someone complained that Dixon "threatened" them by saying you can't get oil from anyone else. Hello...YOU signed a contract with them, then tell them don't deliver any more oil to me because its the summer? YOU are the one breaking the terms of the contract. If you don't use much oil because its the summer, then what will happen is they come and fill your tank (which it won't take much) so who cares?

I recommend this company and DEFINITELY recommend them over Petro. As far as being locked into a contract, It may be more expensive but i prefer the convenience of auto delivery / auto pay and peace of mind knowing if something breaks down, it is covered and I don't have to worry about it.

We have been using Dixon for several years, the staff is courteous, and efficient. They have accommodated us with last minute delivery and have delivered to us in the middle of snow storms. They have worked with us, instead of us having to work with them. I would recommend their services to anyone in the area!
