Reviews of local pros in Northvale, New Jersey

Working with Julian and his team could not have been a better experience. They accomplished the work within a reasonable time, were open to questions and gave good advice. I will recommend them without reservation.

Really great experience working with Julian and his team from start to finish. The entire process was really smooth and I had no issues. The final result was just wonderful - lots of compliments from my neighbors. I couldn't recommend them enough!

We chose DCL for work in our Queens backyard, as well as replacement of brick borders around front garden plots and wooden borders for two street-tree pits. The scope included removing a deteriorated chain-link, concrete-set fence at the rear-boundary and replacing it with a cedar fence, installing a new picket fence on one side of the yard, and laying a small patio with cedar screening to store gardening materials. Julian and his crew were a pleasure to work with from the initial on-site consultation through the demo, site prep, and construction. The job was well-managed, working around restricted yard access and existing plantings. Julian's on-site presence facilitated quick consultation on some adjustments as the job proceeded. Pricing was consistent w/ the quality of the materials, timely completion of the job, and especially the quality of the workmanship.

We had an excellent experience working with DCL Outdoor Contracting -- and with the owner Julian. A Brooklyn roof cabana was transformed into an oasis. Julian was reliable, responsive to all questions and concerns, and the craftsmanship was top-notch.

Julian and his crew did a great job installing one of my design. They were punctual, fast. The project came out beautifully and the clients were pleased. I will definitely be working with them again. Thanks!

Julian and Dion City Landscaping just installed our new cedar fence and built a retaining wall and the experience from beginning to end was flawless. No appointments were missed, always right on time, no damage in our home as they passed through with all their equipment to get to the garden and everyone that worked on the 3-day job was so professional. I highly recommend them and completely satisfied with the end result.

Excellent experience with this company. Julian made a site visit, provided ideas I hadn't thought of (and valuable feedback on what I was proposing), got me a proposal, and meet or beat every ETC he gave me. Additionally, he was EXTREMELY responsive...which I loved. I was never left hanging, wondering what was going on, etc...as happens with so many contractors. Finally, I felt that the finished product was very very well made and high-quality. I would absolutely work with him again, and recommend his company to others.

Designed and built a beautiful ipe deck for us. Excellent workmanship and detail.

Julian and his team were so great to work with. They were prompt, professional, respectful of our home, and did a great job in our backyard. We did a lot of research and spoke to a lot of contractors but are so happy we hired DCL, I highly recommend them!

As a garden designer, I've had the pleasure of working directly with Julian on projects ranging from requests for simpler custom planters to more complex outdoor spaces that include kitchens, pergolas, bench seating, fences, spas, etc. Besides being incredibly skilled at what he does, I have always found Julian to be a consummate professional; he's communicative, fair, has a wealth of knowledge, and it's evident that he cares a great deal about the clients, the quality of the work, the company. I would recommend DCL Outdoor Contracting to anyone looking for design and contracting work.

Julian and his company DCL Outdoor Contracting did a phenomenal job reconstructing my terrace. He built a beautiful pergola, outdoor kitchen, custom bench and planters, and installed porcelain pavers and turf throughout the space. Julian was responsive, friendly and highly professional the entire time, and his attention to detail paid off. The terrace is a work of art, and we've received numerous compliments on his work. I would recommend Julian (and have recently) to anyone looking to redesign their outdoor space, whether it's a terrace, balcony or backyard. It was a pleasure working with Julian and his company and I hope to have the opportunity to work with him again in the future.

I love working with Dio City Landscapes! They are professional, detail oriented and great communicators. They solved problem fast, created lovely custom work and delivered everything in a timely manor. I plan to work with them a bunch in the future.

I honestly cannot say enough nice things about this company or the people working there. We have worked almost exclusively with Julian and his team on our outdoor contracting projects all over NYC for the past several years. Our clients expect high-end work, professional service, and commitment to detail, and Julian Dion delivers all of those things every single time. As a landscape designer working for some of the most discerning clients on earth, I appreciate the time and stress Julian saves me by being a consummate professional. Together, we have created some of the most beautiful outdoor spaces in NYC, and I'm extremely grateful for his continued partnership and commitment to excellence.

I'm a landscape designer in the city and we often hire Julian to do some of our builds: fences, patios, roof decks and custom furniture. His company does really great work. He is an expert craftsman, responsible and pragmatic, is very sensitive to my clients and is lightning fast. (Really, DCL is like a machine.) I highly recommend DCL.

I wanted to take a moment to commend the brothers Ricardo and Antonio and their masonry company for the exceptional work you've done. Thank you for your hard work and outstanding service.I strongly recommend this company for all your masonry work.

Brothers Antonio and Rigoberto are fantastic to work with! They have good prices AND most importantly these guys are experts at what they do. They know what they are doing which puts a lot of trust in the homeowner.

They fixed my sinking patio and relayed my entire front walkway (with steps) with new pavers. They did it in the time line stated (weather permitting of course) and both came out gorgeous!

Communications was great. Anytime there would be a weather delay Antonio would always let me know and when he will be back to continue the job. Very responsive and you are never in the dark with the brothers.

Finally, they have a great attitude with their work. Even in cold weather (my job was in the early Spring) they are out there working regardless.

Total pleasant experience!

We couldn’t be happier with the work Nova Masonry did for us. From start to finish, the team was professional, skilled, and incredibly detail-oriented. They listened carefully to what we wanted and delivered beyond our expectations. The craftsmanship is outstanding — everything looks clean, precise, and built to last.

The crew showed up on time every day, kept the site tidy, and were respectful throughout the entire process. They worked efficiently without ever cutting corners. It’s rare to find a company that takes this much pride in their work, and it truly shows in the final result.

Highly recommend Nova Masonry to anyone looking for high-quality, reliable, and beautiful masonry work. We’ll definitely be using them again for future projects!

Rigo and his guys are life-savers! They came and plowed/shoveled us out on very short notice after a major snow (we have a super long driveway plus 4ft of snow blocking the entrance thanks to the town plow). If we ever need landscaping/masonry work in the future (when weather is warmer), we'd love to work with these guys again on a project!

Great service, came on the day when I asked which was last minute. Great work, lawn looks amazing!

They were extremely helpful and set us up with a beautiful lawn and great sprinkler system!

Excellent team that is responsive and thorough in delivering high-quality landscaping services thru all 4 seasons.
