We needed a new roof and we reached out to 5 roofing companies to come and quote the job. We decided to go with Deegan Roofing because their quote was competitive and they are local in Scotch Plains. Our initial contact was with Brian, the owner. We discovered that Brian lives just around the corner from us. There's something comforting in knowing that the owner of this company is a neighbor. Brian sat with us for about 20 minutes and walked us thru the process. He was straightforward and answered all our questions with patience and professionalism. We had a couple of questions that came up after that initial meeting and those questions were answered promptly by email. When we made our decision, we signed a contract and set up a date for 3 weeks out. Debbie and Mary , from their office, kept us updated with the schedule and the day before the project, a delivery of materials was dropped off. The next day, the crew came and did the job. They started around 8:30 Am and were done by 4PM. The roof looks great and you can't tell that there was even a crew there working because everything was cleaned up and put away. It's never fun shelling out a chunk of money for a home improvement project but we feel really good that Brian and his crew did a great job at a fair price and our home will be protected for years to come. I want to share my wonderful experience with Deegan Roofing for snow removal at my home after the recent blizzard. I noticed on the local Scotch Plains page that they offered services to senior citizens at no charge. And a neighbor used them with positive feedback. I called them and they came in the later afternoon. A truly amazing effort! Multiple trucks, snow blowing, removal of snow from vehicles and from around them. And all within a short period of time! Although there was no charge, I was compelled to compensate the crew monetarily. You can’t put a price on this kind of service to the community or to how Deegan treats their customers!! We hired Deegan Roofing during the pandemic to replace our house roof and were extremely impressed with their thoroughness and attention to detail. They carefully repaired damaged wood before installing new shingles. Since then, they have also replaced our garage roof, repaired exterior siding, installed new gutters with Micro Mesh, and fixed gutter connections on our house.

In my opinion, I thought my house was already clean'ish and that I could do the job myself but because of an recent injury I decided to hire someone. Speaking with Mary was a pleasure and by some stroke of luck, she wasn't far away and came by to do the estimate same day. After a walk thru and some discussion, she said she'd be back at 3pm with her employee, they arrived at 3:04pm. I love when contractors do what they say they'll do. I left and when I returned a few hours later, it was like the scene from the movies where everything is all sparkly and squeaky clean.
