Constraction reviews in Westfield, New Jersey

Melvin and Carlos (and the rest of the Clark Contractor team) have done fabulous work on six of my houses over the past 3 years. The quality of the work on the vast number of projects they have completed for me has consistently exceeded my expectations. Their incredible attention to detail, creativity and flexibility set them far apart from other contractors I have work with. The dependability and value of the Clark Contractor team is unparalleled.

Melvin and his team are great to work with. They installed pavers at my old house that were great and they just finished building a pool deck in my new house. Super professional and hard working team. Definitely will be using Melvin and team for any other home projects in the future!

Clark Contractors does an outstanding job very professionally. They do decks, roofing, windows and all sorts of general contracting. The work they did for us was better than any contractor I’ve ever worked with. They are smart, creative, reliable, friendly, great communicators and dedicated. As you know, this isn’t easy to be all these things and many contractors do not live up to all these standards. However, Clark Contractors has it all! I very very highly recommend them in the Clark area and beyond!!!!!!

Melvin & Carlos were recommended to me by a co-worker. They designed anew bathroom addition and bedroom on my second floor. I can’t say enough how pleased I was with the finished project. I ended having more work done then I had planned because of the work they did. Melvin and his crew went above and beyond my expectations. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a Contractor.

I've hired Clark Contractor several times and have never been disappointed. When they finished the jobs the house was as clean as when they started. They do a quick and neat job and always at, or below, the estimated price and time frame. I will definitely hire them again. Melvin and Carlos are professional, friendly, and very easy to work with. Nice Job guys!

There aren't enough stars for how amazing Clark Contractors is! Melvin, Carlos and the entire team not only do incredible work but are the most trustworthy, knowledgeable and personable team out there. Clark Contractors gutted and renovated our entire home and we are beyond happy with the results. Renovating is a long and complicated process but Melvin was with us every step of the way and made it as seamless as possible. He and Carlos went above and beyond to always be responsive and make sure we were completely satisfied with everything. We highly recommend Clark Contractors to anyone who is looking!

My husband and I hired Melvin to add a master bath to our home. There was only a room to work with - all the plumbing was on the other side of the house. He did a beautiful job transforming the space into a great bathroom. We added many projects along the way - all new wiring throughout the house, insulation, Sheetrock, hardwired smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, painting throughout… every step of the way Melvin was wonderful to work with and so was his crew. Hardworking, diligent , and reasonably-priced. Melvin is also incredibly responsive - he quickly responds to my texts or picks up my calls promptly. He is always friendly and patient, even in stressful situations. Melvin is just a really good guy, and so is his brother - we consider them both friends now and will continue to hire them for our home projects. Next up - painting the outside!

We are so pleased with the service that we have received from Clark Contractors. Melvin and Carlos as well as each and everyone one of the employees did a spectacular job in our home. The were completely honest with every job that was presented. They are organized, kept everything nicely clean. We truly loved their work and will definitely used them for our future home fixes. We definitely recommend them!

Clark Contracting was referred to me by some Montclair residents for whom he renovated baths. I’m a realtor and my seller client needed a quick bath renovation. At the same time, I needed one myself! The priority was my client who was preparing for sale. Melvin prepped my bath while he was in the midst of renovating my clients. Both baths came out great! I
Had a small bath and it was a bit of a challenge. It came out great as did my clients… whose was done fast enough to make it to the market as planned! I have since referred Clark Contracting to other clients who had a variety of work done and were similarly pleased. Melvin’s crew was great too! They cleaned up daily and were respectful that we still needed to be in the house. Thank you Clark Contracting for several jobs well done!

My husband and I hired Melvin/Clark Contractors for a garage renovation. I truly appreciate Melvin's professionalism and integrity. He responds to calls and texts in a timely manner and never leaves us hanging. Melvin is patient and will take the time to clarify everything so that we are comfortable with the work. His team did everything we asked and took the time to explain the pros and cons of things that we requested. Honesty is everything. Thanks again to Clark Contractors. Highly recommended, will hire again.

100% recommend Clark contractors to anyone who has a project to be done and done right! Have hired many contractors over the years and it is so hard to find the combination of fair pricing, superior workmanship and honesty. Melvin and Carlos are a hidden gem. I was hesitant to write a review and create competition with everyone else to get my projects done. Obviously I plan to hire them again!
We gave them a small kitchen refresh project that they priced competitively. My wife and I are completely satisfied with everything they did, but where the exceptional part comes in is the amount of time they took working with us to make sure the design was right. Like most projects things change and they were happy to change things on the fly and it didn’t bother them one bit. They gave us a great feeling the entire time that at the end of the day they just wanted to make sure we loved it, and we do. Carlos is a perfectionist and was adjusting things we didn’t even discuss because it didn’t flow correctly. Seriously how many people you find in this field that would do that, very far and few if you are lucky. They were always on the job site never just dropped off workers and left which I love, ensuring a quality finish. If you have a project, I would not hesitate to have them come and estimate it out. You will get a good sense of comfort the moment you speak with Melvin and deal with Carlos. I am so confident in them I can’t wait to start my full bathroom remodel in the spring. I honestly can go on and on about how great things went, but I think by now you get the point, pick up the phone and call them if you have that project done and have not found the right people. They are the right people.

I strongly recommend Clark Contractors, they are very professional, efficient and a top notch company in every aspect. Melvin, Carlos and staff remodeled my outdated 1/2 bath to a full size bathroom/relocated my laundry room. They are a great team to work with, everything I envisioned for my home project became a reality with their guidance and great work. From the first phone call, pre planning stages (design) and to the end of the project they were attentive to every detail. On several occasions Carlos/Melvin took time out of their personal schedules to explain different designs and great quality material for my remodel project. As a client I also appreciated that they were very well organized, at the end of any work day they made sure to leave everything spotless. I can truly say that they are very dedicated individuals that not only take pride in their work but also their customers 100% satisfaction. I could not be happier, they went above and beyond and I look forward to working with your company in my future home projects.

Melvin and his crew were great, they did a beautiful job along with being neat and finishing rather quickly. I would recommend them to anyone. I just love my new floor!!!

I cannot be more pleased with Melvin and Carlos. They are a family owned business and it shows. They cared for us and took care of our needs as a family. I will only let them do future projects in my home. They made all my dreams come true.

Melvin and his team are professional and detailed oriented. Our project started out with the exterior of our home, but we quickly decided to move forward with the interior sections of our home because we trusted Melvin and he gave us a competitive price. Melvin always responds to us very quickly and was always available to talk through every aspect of the project. We highly recommend clark contractors.

Melvin and his team were hired during a difficult closing process. Long and short, we as the seller needed to replace a deck in order to meet code requirements (previous owners seemed to have DIY'd it). The deck needed to be replaced in less than two weeks from the point of us seeking a contractor.

Melvin and his team replaced the deck in a matter of 2 full days, from start to finish. They were well ahead of schedule, delivered quality work, were a pleasure to deal with, and were very tidy with their clean up. Not to mention, on his own accord, Melvin volunteered to meet with the inspector to make sure his team's work met the requirements and was personally able to address any lingering matters.

If we weren't moving out of state, Melvin would be our go-to for all general contracting work. His team provides a level of professionalism that you don't typically see in the SMB construction industry.

Clark Contractors not only delivers impeccable work, but also provides fair pricing, transparency in digital itemized invoices, professionalism in his dealings, and treats their work as if it was their own homes.

Would give a higher than 5 out of 5 if it was possible! Thank you Melvin and team!

Melvin and his team did an amazing job! We would highly recommend them for any job you may have!! They replaced our huge bay window in the front, our dining room window and the ceiling in a bedroom! They were very efficient and very clean! We are very happy with all of the results, we will be definitely be using them in the future for other jobs.

Clark Contractors are very committed when it comes to their work. Recently had a water heater broke and they immediately came to take care of it. No questions asked, they did the job perfectly. They are honest, quality workers, which I think many can appreciate, and very professional overall.

Clark Contractors are professional and easy to work with. They listened to our ideas and offered helpful suggestions. Melvin and Carlos are especially accommodating—flexible with scheduling, extremely responsive to questions, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure we were satisfied. Our bathroom looks absolutely beautiful!

I had the pleasure of working with Melvin and his team for a renovation project at my home, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. From the beginning, Melvin was incredibly friendly and easy to communicate with. They offered the most competitive price among the quotes we considered, which was just the start of their excellent service.

The quality of the renovation was outstanding, and the team adhered strictly to the agreed timeline, completing everything on schedule. What impressed me further was their responsiveness to issues. After the renovation, when we noticed a few minor problems, they were quick to return and resolve them at no extra hassle.

Additionally, their flexible payment plan was a breath of fresh air, making the financial aspect smooth and manageable. I’ve had absolutely no issues working with Melvin and his team. Highly recommended for anyone looking for reliable and high-quality renovation work.

Clark Contractors did a full renovation on our house and the experience was honestly great from start to finish. Melvin and Carlos were extremely professional, easy to communicate with, and always paid attention to the small details.

The crew kept everything clean and organized throughout the project, which made a huge difference during a full renovation. You can tell they really care about the quality of their work. We’re very happy with how everything turned out and would definitely recommend them.
