General Contractor reviews in Amherst, New York

It's hard to rate Crist Contracting since they never showed up...

Joe and Josh were great and we love our beautiful new kitchen! Highly recommend!

Front and side doors removed and installed in one day. Professional crew, well mannered and very good at what they do.

Had roof done. Horrible crew, failed to install venting properly, installed some sheeting poorly, improperly installed weather gaurd, roof leaked after 4 years never fixed after multiple requests...never showed. Stay away...you'll be sorry

Very happy with addition to house, very professional , owner on site frequently checking on progress and keeping us up to date on things , making sure things were done to our liking and fixed things that we asked to be fixed without a problem. Would definitely recommend or use again.

I've been using Crist Construction for 18 years and they have done everything I have asked for. I will be using this company for as long as the are around. The owner is amazing and super nice. Highly recommend!!

Crist Construction built a front entrance portico for us . Joe and his crew were very professional did excellent job and finished as promised on time .
We are very happy and highly recommend them !

I've used Joe and his team twice for my remodeling twice and have been 100% satisfied each time. I highly recommend them and will use them again for my next home project!!

They put a roof over my patio and we are very happy with it. The workers were very courteous and professional. I would use them again.

Crist Contracting was contracted in March to build a large back porch for us starting in June. It was suppose to take 3 weeks after a 2 month material order time. After 4 months it was still not done and the build quality was terrible. We need to reinstall all the decking of the back porch. Every fix to their work we asked for was either done poorly or they attempted to charge us extra. They were polite, but never could answer a single question about material or if they were going to show up for work that week. We fired them in September.

Crist Construction sided my house, added a roof and Trex porch, and other improvements. After 8 years we developed a problem with our Trex porch. After sending pictures to Trex they declined to honor the 25yr warranty. I contacted Joe Crist and discussed the problem and result from Trex. Joe sent a crew over this week and did a complete tear off of the deck and replaced everything with new Trex at his cost. I am throughly satisfied and am grateful that Joe had the dedication to customer service. I would not hesitate to recommend Crist Construction to anyone. Thanks Joe. It’s refreshing to see a contractor who follows up with service.

Beware of this company and the owner, Joe Christ. They did a job for me and returned three times to correct water leakage from behind my gutters and siding. It was not repaired and so the fourth time they were supposed to come to rip the gutters and roofing off again and redo the job completely again, they didn’t even bother to show up. I waited all day and even called. Joe just showed up today and when
I asked for a refund, he walked away and told me to call a lawyer. His company only lists a po.box and no physical address. He refused to give the physical address. Terrible workmanship and does not show up for job when date and time are pre-set. Took my money and water leaks all into my house. I had to get another company to repair his damage so it cost me twice the amount for the job.

Had my roof replaced by Crist construction 7 years ago and it has leaked since it was done. It leaked from the roof down to my basement. I went on the roof two times to fix it myself and finally got it fixed
Now the roof is leaking in 4 spots on the other side of the house. I have had to hire a trustworthy company to fix this mess.
The original crew who worked for Crist were the worst bunch of misfits I have ever seen. They couldn’t care less about whether the job was done right or not. Roofs should last much more than 7 years and should not leak right away.
Do not ever hire this company to do any roofing for you as this is the worst roofing job EVER!

Awesome company ! Affordable, professional, and very nice happy with all the work. Removed my back porch and finished the wall, installed new storm doors for me and informed me of some issues I was unaware of. Looking forward to having them back soon as I have much more to fix 🤗. Highly recommend calling Christ for all your remodeling needs.

Joe and his team were awesome..My new edition was up and sided in no time; inside walls demoed and windows installed perfectly! Loved Joe’s work so much had him do a complete roofing tear down - this portion of the job was done in a few days and the clean up was always done same day with care and Up to Joe’s and my expectations! These guys are pros and highly recommend them ! Thanks Joe, Josh and team.. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

They were very nice to deal with until they had all of our money. They installed a patio cover and caused a leak on the interior wall and ceiling. It was like pulling teeth to get them to come back and fix it. Took them 5 tries to fix the issue too. It's a shame because we were very happy with them until the issue popped up.

Crist Construction remodeled two bathrooms and replaced a kitchen floor. The crew was very skilled, courteous and accommodating. Joe Crist checked on the progress frequently. I am very pleased with the work. I would use the company again and would recommend it to others.

Joe Crist and his crew did a fantastic job on our deck with a gable roof. His employees are outstanding, knowledgeable and courteous. The job took the amount of time we thought it would. They took the time to do a few special things we wanted. We would not hesitate to use his services again and we highly recommend him.
