Eric was extremely knowledgable. John, Mark and the team that provided the boiler replacement were professional, thorough, courteous and expedient. John was very helpful and patient in answering my questions and detailing the causes of my issue and the work to be done. Very satisfied.

Though I haven't had any work done by Sure Combustion Heating, I would highly recommend them for their knowledgeable and responsive phone service. I found them via my boiler's manufacturer website (Prestige Triangle Tube boiler) and sent them photos of my boiler's installation with a few questions. They quickly called me back and spent a good deal of time talking me through my system and answering my Qs. Very helpful!

Eric installed a new boiler in our house after multiple issues with our old one. Install was smooth and Eric responded to several follow up calls in a timely manner

Not having hot water and heat is a crisis. Having someone reliable to help in a time of crisis is priceless. Eric, the GM, was there to talk me through it and explain everything. He was kind, considerate and patient! I am so thankful for him and this company. Thanks again.

I got a new boiler system and hot water tank installed by Sure Combustion Heating last year and I'm SURE that the heating is better than its ever been since I bought the house, with a brand new heating system, twenty years ago. I'm in a two unit 4 story brownstone in Harlem and my tenant has always complained about there not being enough heat. However, there was nary a peep out of him last winter about the heat except to say "whatever you did keep doing it"! I'm going into my second winter with the new system and I'm confident that it will keep pumping out the heat needed to keep my tenant and me warm.
I must say that I was skeptical because a couple "heating specialist" had come by to give their expertise and estimate, but I didn't feel comfortable. When Mr. Gayles arrived he was very knowledgeable and trustworthy and I was immediately put at ease. The system is he recommended has saved me money and given me peace of mind. Thank you, Sure Combustion Heating . -
Sure to the rescue, again! Our neighbor's pipes burst in January and flooded our closet where the boiler hangs. It seemed okay for a while but then started to rattle and die. Eric came over, opened it, showed us the water damage. We arranged to replace it, and get a new one shipped in, but Eric found one in stock in NJ and drove there himself, picked it up and dropped it at our house on a Friday evening a few days before he was supposed to start. Amazing! Saved us a couple of weeks. The replacement went perfectly and we're very happy!

Do yourself a favor and work with them!

I called Sure Combustion Heating when my home had issues with heating and water heating. Eric and his team came in and did a very clean and professional job in getting all 3 of my units up and running. His work was neat and fixed all the issues that I had. I highly recommend Sure Combustion Heating!

Well I have to say was a 100% pleased with the tremendous level of confidence and expertise they brought to the job. I finally found a plumbing/heating company that is trained the right way to do the job. No wonder there recommended by the manufacturer. Not just stick pipes together to make it work and call it a day. When you choose to hire street hustlers to work on these pricey appliances you don't get life expectancy you get headaches. My lesson has been well learned. Thank you to Erik and his great team which finished installing an on demand unit with all new piping in just 4 hours as promised. Grade A job. Clearly a professional company who was quick, attentive to my needs, reasonably priced for the right job and they stand behind there work. Looking forward to using them in the near future.

Sure Combustion installed a new boiler and hot water heater for us two years ago when our hot water heater suddenly failed the week before Thanksgiving right after we moved in and when we were to have a houseful of guests staying for a week. Eric came right out, provided a firm written estimate within a day or so and then got right to work so that we had heat for the holiday. The job was complicated as we have a 4 story townhouse with four zones and with radiant heating in some floors as well. The pricing was fair and competitive. They returned to make adjustments as needed. I have since recommended them to others, including for two jobs where other companies couldn’t fix the issue. Eric is very knowledgeable and goes out of his way to ensure customers are satisfied. I highly recommend them.

They were very professional, communicative and timely. The job looks great. Thank you!

We moved into our home about 3 years ago, it was a full gut renovation. Our plumber installed a Weil Mccan boiler and hot water heater. At the time we naively thought that it was a professionally done job. Unfortunately it wasn’t. So 3 years later we called in Eric at Sure Combustion and he was able to resolve the boiler/hot water heater issue. He also came back today and installed the outside sensor so that the boiler and all its sensors would know what the outside temperature was and react accordingly. And this was at 7pm on a Friday!
I say to Eric and the folks who hired him, well done…
Highly recommended! -
UPDATE - Nov 30, 2021
I live in a 4 story-brownstone. About 3 years ago, Eric replaced my entire boiler system, including a new hot water heater, and installed a Davey pump to address the pressure (about $30,000). I contacted Eric on September 14th….and since his return to replace the water tank for 7K…at present this is where we stand:
1) There is no water pressure to the 4th floor
2) There is no heat to the 3rd floor – where my young daughter sleeps. The system was never recalibrated as promised with the new tank
3) I haven’t received any word on a refund via the water tank warranty on the 3K I spent (full price) on the water tank. And I haven’t received a single update as to when I will hear.
4) I have found a price from a reputable online plumbing supply store for a valve for the pump for the water pressure, but Eric is refusing to use this product due to warranty issues (see above about the tank warranty issues). He will only work with his own suppliers who are extremely expensive and don't seem to honor their warranties.
Completely reworked our heating system in our brownstone. Has been working much more efficiently. Thanks Erick! -
Eric was the only heating person who was willing to advise me remotely on whether it was safe to leave my unheated house to be able to get up to my Dad’s for Christmas before the storm started. I can understand no one wanting to to be the one to tell me it’s okay to leave then I have a pipe burst, but Eric understood the situation well enough to form an opinion. He actually took the time to video chat with me so he understood my set up well enough.

Hi Everyone. Bear with me on this review. I rarely leave reviews and even more rare for positive experiences with contractors. I have been talking to Eric from Sure Combustion Heating now for about a month and a half-ish in getting a proposal, executing the work, fixing any problems that come after or during.
The ask: tear down and replace 2 condensing boilers with non-condensing boilers for a 2 family house. Which will have to pass NYC inspection. The systems will be boilers and holding tanks that would basically work like a combi unit and have endless hot water if needed (boilers that were being replaced).
The Install: first, Eric gave me a 12 page detailed proposal. The sign of a good contractor. He spelled out everything he would need down to how many elbows pieces and every step he would be responsible for, not just a 1 liner “proposal”. After that, I needed to have some pre-work done in terms of re-lining the chimney and starting the filings and work permits with NYC. Eric did explain all this and that if I needed he does partner with a few other contractors that can take care of everything.
The work itself took the normal amount of time as expected. About a weeks worth of work over a 3 week period. I did have to leave for 2 week vacation while Eric and team needed to address a few leaks. But they picked up after I got back and gave them a call.
At the end of the work, Eric and team did put in extra hours on weekends to finish the job on time as discussed and to fix any leaks or other problems that came up after everything with put together. Eric work for 6 hours on mothers day Sunday to replace a manifold that was faulty and a few other items like trying to figure out why my thermostat was calling for heat when it was off.
I had to leave on vacation right after he finished the work on mothers day. So will updated this once I get back.
Update: when I returned from vacation, I turned the systems back on and found out there was a small leak (system is still usable but would not pass inspection if left alone and also needed to be taken care of). I Let Eric know, he was back within a few days with a new part. Replaced the bad part in a few hours. 2 days later I find out the new part had a leak. Looked like a bad batch of manifolds.
After a few more replacements, since you can only tell there was a leak after 1 to 2 days. Feel bad for Eric and crew since they came back each time and replaced the same manifold. Finally had a good manifold. Please understand, the issues were with the part. They had bad soldering welds on the connection and it would leak from there (enough to leave a wet spot on the floor after an entire day but not actually accumulate water on the floor). But Eric and team came back and replaced the manifold and tested until I was satisfied and there was no leak anymore after 3 days.
The inspection was simple. No issues found took less than half an hour. No fixes or changes required.
Overall expect delays (I would add 1 to 3 weeks in what you expect in time), expect things to be more expensive (I would ad between 30% to 50% more than you think it would be – even before COVID this would true) and be patient (yelling at someone that needs to finish a job for you won’t make them finish quicker or better). This was an issue with a part, not the labor. I am Still good how everyone worked and completed the project. Will update if anything changes in the winter. -
Eric was quick to diagnose and repair several issues we have had at the house. He delivered repair and replacement services perfectly and at a reasonable price. He is very responsive and trustworthy.

Eric and his team have worked on our home system a couple of times and quickly repaired issues. They are extremely experienced and know exactly how to fix a very complicated system. They are honest, easy to work with and explain the problem in understandable terms. I highly recommend using Sure Combustion for any repairs.

Sure Combustion Heating saved us from freezing when our boiler failed in the holiday season last December. We have a European Triangular Tube boiler and I found Sure Combustion Heating on the manufacturer's website as a trusted service company. Eric came out immediately to assess the situation and he gave us a full and detailed quote for the whole work at the outset, which was very refreshing. There were no more hidden costs or further negotiations. He did the job very well and fixed the whole system in two days. We will call them back to service the boiler regularly to avoid further boiler failures. Many plumbers before claimed to know our boiler, which has a complicated programmable menu but only Sure Combustion had a contact to the manufacturer and worked with them to restore all the boiler settings to optimal. They also performed a cleaning of the whole heating system and were very knowledgeable and professional. I highly recommend Sure Combustion Heating to anyone with boiler, hot water, or other plumbing issues.

We used Eric from Sure Combustion to assess two combination boilers in our 3 Family home in Clinton Hill Brooklyn. The original installation of our two Baxi's had all kinds of problems. Eric patiently explained the situation to my wife Gerri and me. Having to replace a less than 5 year old boiler is never an easy pill to swallow, but Eric explained in a detailed way that this was not only our best option, but really our only option. He recommended a Utica boiler that we have been very happy with since its installation in 2020. He had to rework a bunch of the shoddy plumbing and in doing so, he also reworked and checked our other Baxi, which we did not have to replace. His regular service of our boilers is essential to our peace of mind and helps us be better landlords. We highly recommend Eric and Sure Combustion.

Eric and Sure Combustion Heating did a phenomenal job of identifying and explaining the issue with my tankless water heater. Eric was patient and took the time to detail the steps necessary to correct the problem. It was refreshing to have someone be invested in figuring out a solution when so many other plumbers won’t return your calls. Thank you Eric and Sure Combustion Heating!

I can’t say enough good things about Eric and his service. We lost heat and it’s in the 20’s outside. Nobody anywhere in the tri-state area could get the part needed to fix my boiler. I called Eric and he personally located the part and drove to central New Jersey (many, many miles out of the way) to get it. We now have heat!! Thank you to Eric and Sure Combustion. Would give them 10 stars if I could.
