Simply unreasonable and rude.

They shouted at me over the phone saying I’m wasting their time when all I’m doing is asking for a quote.

I’m never going to the business ever and will strongly discourage others to do so. No respect for customers.

Great job cleaning my couch and rug! There were some pretty bad stains from my kids and they managed to get all of them out in no time. My couch looks amazing! I'll definitely be using them again in the future.

5 stars is not enough. We own a moving company and moved a customer from Upstate NY to Roosevelt Island. They guys must have whacked a tree with the overhead and caused a small hole in it. Thus the customers mattress was soaking wet from the rain. Her 7k mattress almost ruined, and she was crying. I called Flat Rate and they were there in 1 hour. The customer just called me and said thank you for sending such nice, professional guys. No more tears for her! Thank you Flat Rate Carpet!

I had a very unpleasant moving experience from Boston a few months ago that resulted in black and brown marks all over my sofa and sofa cushions. I'm still not sure how this happened or where it came from since everything was wrapped in painter's plastic. Basically, there was a lot of back and forth between myself and the moving company to remedy this issue and they finally agreed to cover half the cost of upholstery cleaning. Flat Rate was near by so I called them. Within an hour, they sent someone out to do a free estimate. My service tech, Tom, explained my situation to one of their customer service reps who contacted the movers for me and got them to sign off on and fax back the invoice within minutes so Tom could get started immediately and I wouldn't have to argue with them anymore. It was pretty awesome to get such prompt, friendly and helpful service after a lousy experience with the moving company. Tom had to go over the sofas and cushions a few times to get all the stains out and did a fantastic job of it. Pleased and will use them again.

I would highly recommend Flat Rate Carpet in brooklyn to anyone. They are very professional and are willing to work with you. They cleaned my stairs, it looks like a brand new carpet. Having a toddler at home with a fresh clean carpet is extremely important.

Flat Rate Carpet has always been my go-to place whenever I get my upholstery and carpet cleaned. They're different from other companies I have tried before because they use water extraction carpet cleaning technique and its really effective.

These guys are the best. They came to me and installed the carpet that I bought for my new house. I was worried because the carpet wasn’t regular shape but these guys did a great job. I’m very impressed. Thank you again!

I am extremely happy with this company's installation services. They did both my home and my office space 10,000 sq ft, they were very professional and punctual. I would 100% recommend them to any one looking for a professional job.

I really wish I could separate my rating out by quality of work done and customer service because they would get 2 VERY different ratings.

While they did an awesome job on cleaning my 7x10 white shaggy rug, I was not only disappointed with the level of service I received but the amount of my time that they wasted and had absolutely no respect for (talking 8 hours of my time). The 3 rating is due to my immense frustration at how much of my time they wasted.

They were extremely prompt in showing up for the free estimate appointment. I had them take the rug the same day and was told it would be ready the following Saturday and that they would deliver it between 8am and 11am.

Saturday comes and it's 11:15am and no rug, no call. I give them a call to get an ETA and am told they would be at my apartment in 20 mins. It's now 1pm and still no rug or update. I call them back and after putting me on hold for a few minutes they inform me that something happened while they were cleaning my rug and that it's not done and that someone should have called me that morning. Now they tell me it will be delivered on Tuesday between 3pm and 5pm. Since I live alone, I had to spend my entire Saturday morning from 8am - 1pm stuck in my apartment for a rug that was never coming - that was 5 hours of my time.

Now it's Tuesday and my rug is supposed to be here between 3pm and 5pm. At 5pm on the dot I receive a call from them asking if I'm home and letting me know they will be delivering the rug shortly. At 6:13pm I give them a call b/c (shockingly enough) still no rug. I'm told 20 mins. My rug was delivered at 6:55pm that night. Almost 2 hours after it was supposed to be delivered - almost 4 hours of my time sitting in my apartment waiting for them.

I understand that things don't always go as planned but a good company prides itself on good service and part of that is letting your customers know when something comes up or you can't meet the time frame that you provided.

So while I am REALLY happy about how clean my rug turned out (looks almost new again and this is a white rug), I was really not impressed with their utter lack of customer service once they had my business. As I mentioned they were exceptionally prompt when they came to pick up the rug. Just wish that carried over to once they actually had my money.

My rating may be a bit harsh but I think businesses not only need to provide quality work but exceptional service as well.

Flat Rate Carpet deserves five stars for a job well done on my rugs. I had my pakistani rug cleaned restored and it's amazing that they completed the job. Excellent services!

I had a very good experience with this company. They were nice, thorough and on time. They cleaned an old rug of mine and it looks and smells much better. Also, the sofa is stainless and fresh. I would definitely recommend them if you live in the NYC area.

I was visiting some friends in New York and having some fun. One of them had a little to much fun and ended up getting sick on one of the sofas. I called Flat rate to see what they could do. This is the BEST rug cleaning company in the city so you should look no further and just call them. They came to pick up our rug the same day and delivered it ahead of schedule. The customer service is top notch. We are definitely going to recommend Flat Rate Carpet and will most certainly use them again in the future for our carpet cleaning needs.

Outstanding customer service! I've been having trouble finding reliable and dependable carpet cleaners who can get the job done precisely and correctly! I do not have the time or funds to waste on frivolous companies that promise you everything but deliver you nothing! After dealing with numerous companies, Flat Rate was the first to deliver me what I wanted- how I wanted it. Reliable and dependable. If you want the job done without any hassle, they are the way to go.

Flat Rate Carpet was AMAZING!!! My Micro Fiber Couch was disgustingly dirty and OMG they came in and did a Phenomenal Job cleaning it I am pleased beyond measure and they were very reasonably priced. I will definitely use them again!! If you use their Service you will not be disappointed and ask for Marc :) !!!

The flat rate carpet company did a super great job. Have two person moved the furnitures without me touching anything. The were very friendly and helpful. They were super super great. I recommend them to anyone that wants a clean job done without breaking anything in home!

I had a small rug (6 x 4), about a year old with regular wear and tear that just needed cleaning. Over the phone they quoted me a starting price of $225 for a rug rug estimated to be larger than it actually measured. When picking up the carpet they estimated the lowest price was $350 for a deep cleaning. Fine, however my rug came back not looking any cleaner and with a permanent crease in it (from drying it over a bar, I assume), which has ruined the shape and has become a tripping hazzard that I cant steam out or correct any other way. Don't recommend.

The guy was very quick and careless. He moved my couch inspite of me asking him not to do so. He was so uncareful that one of the couch steel legs bended and was half broken! Also I keep finding missed spots on a carpet (see photos).
