I just have to put this in writing so others can benefit. I have had two major projects done by Stately Kitchen and Bath in the past 18 months. And I mean major. They gave me a first floor open concept which was previously a very “cut up” typical old South Buffalo design. Then added a Three Season room for me. I couldn’t be happier or recommend them more highly! You won’t regret calling them for sure!!

Review of Stately Builders 1 star Stately Builders worked on our master bath remodeling project from August through November of 2024. When the construction started, we began to experience problems in workmanship. We’ll just summarize some of the major issues we encountered. Problems with workmanship First, Stately installed our bathroom faucets (2) right up against the backsplash. There was virtually no room to get behind the faucet for cleaning. The project manager was able to show us that a single piece of paper could slide between the handle and the backsplash, so he was technically correct; but we pointed out that this is not the proper place to install the faucet! The quartz countertop had to be removed and re-cut in order to correct the problem. (see photo 1) There was no room to clean behind the faucet, the sink plunger could not be installed, and the handle could not be turned all the way to hot. Second, one of the most impactful mistakes made by Stately came at the end of the project. When the project was completed and we started to take showers, we noticed that the shower floor was not draining properly (see photo 2). Five (5) hours after a shower, the tile floor remained wet. This is a major problem because without proper drainage mold and mildew will build up. We discovered that Stately did not level the shower floor properly and the pitch was off. Third, with the project completed we began to experience noises in the bathroom. When we take showers, we hear banging noises or loud thumps. The most likely cause appears to be thermal expansion of the pipes and knocking against the joist. We used thermal wraps around the pipes ourselves and we were able to move the noise from one location to another, closer to the shower itself. However, as can be seen from this photo, the shower pipe is right against the joist and there isn’t enough space to fit the thermal cover over the pipe. The noise persists. The next persistent noise occurs when we walk across the bathroom floor. We isolated the location of the noise coming from the half-wall of the shower. The picture below shows where the screws from the half-wall miss the joist and simply come through the basement ceiling. The half-wall is not secured to the bathroom floor properly and walking causes vibration, leading to the noise. Management Issues We noticed we were overcharged on our bathroom tiles and we contacted Stately. The overcharge was $1,912.50 due to a math error by James. We contacted James and asked for copies of the receipts for the purchase of our Kohler products. Kohler now requires receipts in order to have proof in the case of possible warranty issues. The receipts were under his account at Ferguson Electric. However, the Kohler hardware were purchased with our money for our bathroom remodel. James refused to give us receipts for the Kohler products! When we had our one-year warranty review, Stately corrected some minor issues such as re-doing caulking around the sinks. However, the noises in the bathroom that were mentioned above and in the Warranty Review were not resolved. Later, James told us – “We will no longer be servicing your house.” So, overall, we were disappointed with Stately’s workmanship and their failure to fix issues under their one-year warranty. Update: Yes, we did reach out to Stately and mentioned these concerns prior to posting this. However, Stately replied - “We will no longer be servicing your house.” So, we are trying to diagnose the causes for the noises, especially the noise when we walk on the floor near the newly constructed shower half-wall.
