Great selection of plants, trees, lawn ornaments, vegetables (both seeds and starter plants, pond supplies and surprisingly a good selection of pond fish. Personnel is pretty knowledgeable and friendly. A little on the expensive side but you do find some good deals buying bulk and of course the occasional sales and bargains. Honorably mention: they do offer senior discounts on your purchases.

Good selection and helpful staff. They have many garden sculptures and other decorations as well as fountains. Plenty of parking and easy access from a main road with a traffic light.

I called to ask if they had blue point junipers. They told me yes we have them, so I drove out there. I looked around and right away saw they did not have any. When I asked for help because I called and was told they were here. The lady inside said they are short staff and I would have to wait for someone outside to help me. I stood around for 15 minutes and no one came outside that could help me.

They have a large selection of plants and shrubs, high quality. I also come here for Christmas trees around the holidays, they have a wide variety of types and sizes. Around the holidays they also sell a selection of novelty lights.

Horrible!!!!! I been shopping for a Butterfly magnolia tree for a long time which I found in your store at 50 % discount but when I mentioned to employee he claimed it was not that tree even though it was tagged as a butterfly magnolia. I believe they didn’t want to sell it at a discount price. I believe customers are always right. Horrible to switch prices that are clearly advertised.

I had an fantastic experience at Garden World in Franklin Square. From the Manager Craig, to Eden in the Greenhouse, to Theresa in the Floral Department, who helped me source the perfect ribbon, and made the perfect bows for my wreaths. All around excellent experience, Thanks Guys!

Based on all the positive reviews I choose to try this place for my Spring landscaping purchases and being a smaller place than Home Depot I was hoping to get some of my questions answered by a knowledgeable or at least a friendly staff. Well, it didn't quite work out as I'd hoped. It was around 4:30pm on a Tuesday and the place was empty. I walked around for about 10 mins and there was no one around to help me, just a couple people conversing near the register. Finally I saw an employee approaching my way, we made eye contact and as I was about to say hi and ask him something, he turned his head and kept on walking without saying a word. Really? I understand you close at 5pm but that should not be an excuse to treat your customers so coldly. All I needed was a little assistance. So I walked out of there empty handed and went to Home Depot where surprisingly I was helped by a great employee and bought everything I needed.

Shopped here for a few years and was very pleased until this morning . The short hair lady just cashed a customer where the big register is . She then walked over to the corner to cash another customer me confused not knowing which register to go at , she motioned me to go to the corner register . I said good morning and explained I wasn’t sure where to follow . She never answered nor acknowledge me until I paid , she said have a good day . I deliberately walked slowly to hear how she would welcome the next white customer And of course It was good customer service . Not another dollar from me at garden world what a rude woman !

Beautiful flowers, Horrible staff
There are two Garden World locations and I’ve always had good experiences at the Francis Lewis Blvd location. So, yesterday I had expected to have a similar experience at the Franklin Avenue location. Well, I had the completely opposite experience. I purchased a Groupon but once I arrived I found out it can only be used with non sale items, and of course everything I wanted was on sale, no biggie I’ll just use it later. I make my selection and go to the counter to find out that the prices and discount which were posted above the plants weren’t the prices. When I questioned the cashier about their signage and showed her both the price and discount was on the same pole she became annoyed stating “the price is a sale and you can’t get two discounts”. I asked for a manager because the signage should be changed, we’ll the vitriol and dismissive tone that the manager displayed is unacceptable. They have a beautiful selection, very healthy looking plants, but their staffs customer service is horrible and I won’t be back.

My husband and I Went here last week and had a horrible experience. The employees were very rude and not helpful at all. They were so busy on talking to each other. We purchased 10 plants and asked if our Gardner can pick it up in three days. The girl who worked there agreed and we did the purchase. But There was a man who worked here gave us so much attitude. He did mentioned multiple times to make sure that person pick up the plant or we will not hold it even if we are paying for it. And even when we were stepping out after the purchase, the same person came closer and said make sure you guys pick this up in very rude tone. And we didn’t even here any greetings like have a good day or thank you or nothing. We will never go here

I’ll be using this store for my future needs. I favor Foxfarm soils and nutrients and they had plenty in stock so it’s always great to not have to wait for an online order. They also stock the brand Fish Sh!t which was an awesome in store find for me. I didn’t buy plants since it’s later in the season and I don’t need at the moment but I can’t wait to get here to see what they have to offer in the beginning of the season
