tl;dr: I cannot recommend Craftsman Home Remodeling highly enough, for any and all mold remediation needs!

Phil and his family were consummate professionals as they worked tirelessly to completely address an emergency mold problem we discovered in our bathroom and attic two weeks ago. When the mold inspection report found toxic black mold, Phil and his wife Patricia took time off on their Saturday morning to quote an excellent price for the work. Little did we know, they had also come prepared to start containment on the area, and by Noon that day our living space was completely sealed off from the mold infesting our bathroom walls. Over the next week, they uncovered every inch of mold there was to find, not only in the bathroom, but in an attic space above that had previously been poorly encapsulated and ventilated. By the fourth day of work, they had completely removed all of the insulation in our attic, fully killed and encapsulated the mold down to the last hyphae, and generously scrubbed our air round the clock to make sure we were breathing easy while they worked. They were extremely courteous and respectful of our living space, leaving our stairway and entryway immaculately vacuumed at the end of each day, and diligently protecting our hardwood floors from dings and scratches as they worked. When we first spoke with him, Phil assured us that he treats every project as if he were working on his own home, and it REALLY showed over the course of the project! He also went out of his way to recommend trusted contractors to complete the insulation and remodeling portions of the work, which were outside the scope of what they could reasonably work into their busy work schedule for us.

With Craftsman, we were made to feel like family in just a few short days, and there is no doubt that I will be hiring them again should I ever find another trace of mold in my house.

We replaced our wood deck with composite. This company did a wonderful job. Very professional, friendly, and finished sooner than expected. We are very happy with their work. Phil, Justin, and Doug were hard workers and easy to deal with. They gave us detailed explanations for the work they would perform and actually did more than expected....like increasing the width of our stairs to make them easier to carry items up and down . Very friendly. Thanks guys for a great job! We definitely recommend them!!

We rent a home that we didn’t know was infested with mold due to a flood that happened before we moved in. Phil was called and came over immediately and told us what needed to be done and within a week he started doing his magic. The work that was done on our house couldn’t have been better! He is so professional and does amazing work! He had our house smelling brand new in just a couple days! I would highly recommend using him for any of your needs 😊

Craftsman Custom Design cleaned our air ducts (for the first time in our 30 year old home) After recently experiencing new allergic type symptoms, I considered it to be indoor air quality, as the home is now closed up and furnace is running. I admit we were skeptical about air duct cleaning, but I am pleased with the results and benefits! I noticed an immediate improvement in air quality!

Philip and crew did an outstanding job cleaning our system. I was not aware of all the extensive labor and detail that goes into this service. Philip walked thru and explained what he would be doing and why. He showed me all the dust and debris he collected, and the before & after photos tells it all!

Philip is very knowledgeable and professional, and his friendly, no pressure approach is very much appreciated! I would not hesitate to recommend him and Craftsman Custom Design for air duct cleaning services to friends and family!

Phil and team are true craftsman. We had a complicated wood deck that we wanted to update with Trex. We got 5 different quotes. Instead of sending a sales guy over, Phil came and was by far the most knowledgeable and share valuable advice. He was also onsite doing the work. Their pricing is very fair and they are very detailed orientated when doing the work. Very pleased with how our deck came out and their ability to work with our custom need.

I had my old porch torn down and a new one rebuilt by Craftsman Home Remodeling in fall 2023. The before photos don't show how dilapidated the porch was and the after photos don't known how beautiful the new porch is. They even went over things they were hesitant about (such as my walkway not lining up and if I needed it torn up first-- and I honestly don't care much at this time).

Key components I like about this company:
- Quotes on the spot. They bring their pamphlets with them to go over material costs. There aren't any games or hidden costs, it's very transparent.
- Significant experience from both the father and son. Everything is safe, and up to code as well as my own personal standards
- You get on the schedule first come, first serve (they fill up quickly). They seem to work all the time, bearing weather.
- They have a vision for what is being created. They ask about the small details and they tie in important features.
- They go above and beyond. For example, we had old siding in our garage and they were able to use it in the design to make it look like "our porch has always been there" (direct quote from my neighbors).

Considerations:
- It is expensive. However, having gone with a different company for our roof/skylight that did not do the little things, I can appreciate the detail that comes with that expense
- They do book up fast

I don't really have any complaints, to be honest. I find them very direct, creative, and knowledgeable.

We know who we're calling if we ever need quick and professional remediation services again! Our basement flooded and Craftsman was referred to us by a friend. We couldn't be more pleased. They got in, got our floors dry and the basement sterilized in very little time. The team was courteous and explained every step of the process before getting started. What would have taken us time we did not have to spare, they breezed through in a matter of a couple days. If you're in need of a flood clean up or mold remediation, it gets no better than Craftsman Home Remodeling. Thank you!

Very professional. They remediated the mold in my attic, fixed the airflow, and brought the insulation up to about r60.

Both Phils, Trish, and Nick as well as the others who came to install my door the last day, have been wonderful throughout the process. I was so happy to find someone willing to work on my job after searching for a long time. It turned into a more involved project, with more extensive mold than I hoped, but I'm very happy with their work. They ended up having to rip out all the walls, ceiling, and insulation in my family room, and treating all the mold, but were able to not have to rip out the floor. They have great attention to detail and offered options where possible to save me money while still properly dealing with my mold problem correctly. I would hire them again for any future jobs.

We just had Craftsman Custom Design clean our air ducts, and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. Our house is 40 years old, and the ducts had never been cleaned. We were so impressed with the fact that they took video of the entire job, you can really see how thorough they are. We could feel the difference in our air quality immediately. Phil and Phil are extremely professional and friendly, and we highly recommend them.

We had an unexpected water damage in our home, and we can’t say enough good things about Craftsmen. They responded immediately to our call and had a team at our house in no time. The water remediation process was handled with remarkable efficiency and care. They thoroughly dried out the affected areas, removed damaged carpets and drywalls and shelves, treated any growing mold, waterproofed the space to prevent future water damage or mold growth. The entire process was 100% transparent, and they kept us updated all the time.

But their work didn’t stop there. If you’re looking for a one-stop-for-all kind of service they are definitely the team. They’re very knowledgeable and professional, they provide a wide range of services covering most of home improvement needs. We found water damage/mold issue on a few spots of the subfloor and cabinet, they helped inspect and treat the spots free of charge. They also have team to install bathroom vents for us, and gave advice on any questions we had. Full 5 stars for everything.

Phil and Tricia Zona helped us through a very stressful mold issue that was discovered in our basement. They were beyond professional and responsive as they helped us understand the process of mold remediation. As the job continued, Phil and Tricia paid close attention to detail and found that there was more mold than anticipated. They showed continued professionalism and genuine empathy as they helped us navigate the expense of rectifying the mold issue. AMAZING!!! From my initial phone call through the completion of the project, Patricia and Phil were incredible. They came to diagnose the problem first and came a second time to walk through each part of the work that needed to be done before I even signed a contract with them. They are extremely knowledgeable and thorough, and can handle the entire scope of your project from cleanup to reconstruction.
Once the work had begun, it was a smooth and stress-free process. Phil explained everything he was doing and was ahead of schedule. He went above and beyond what I was expecting. This is a family business and everyone works cooperatively with each other. They are meticulous with everything from managing the work area to the upkeep of their equipment, not to mention personable and respectful towards their clients. You are in excellent hands with Craftsman Home Remodeling.

Phil and Justin were very friendly from the beginning. Phil was informative, took the time to explain his process and went the extra mile with the precautions for my family's health and well being. The attention to detail when it came to containing the infected area while his team treated it was extraordinary and very much appreciated. Once the job was complete, Craftsman Home Remodeling left the work site cleaner than when they arrived.

I highly recommend the decking team from Craftsman Home Remodeling. The company founder - Phil Sr. - was there from start to finish. He wrote up the quote and he was there every day to oversee the project and make sure both my wife and I were happy as the project progressed. As context, we had a large multi-level deck that had become dangerous to walk on because of weak and rotting wood planks due our upstate weather and direct exposure to the sun. We wanted a complete replacement of the existing PT wood surface with new composite decking material, three sets of stairs rebuilt, as well as solider boarding along the entire base rather than the cheap lattice work the prior owner used. Additional, the team designed and constructed a 12'x20' roof, that's connected to our house over a portion of the deck, so we can now be outside and enjoy the view of our pool and beautiful backyard no matter the weather. It's worth noting that as they progressed, structural issues were uncovered and Phil was extremely communicative and let us know each issue immediately, outlined possible options, and executed the solution at a reasonable cost. The decking team was extremely hardworking and knowledgeable. Bottom line, we are thrilled with the final outcome on this project - we received superior quality at a great price. We WILL hire them again and have recommended them to our friends and neighbors! Their family business will restore your faith and confidence in locally-owned and operated contractors!
