General Contractor reviews in Rochester, New York

I called this landscaper for an estimate on three flower beds. A guy (Rick) came out to look at my project. He was professional but didn’t get an estimate from him. After about two weeks, called John (owner) to see if an estimate was going to be sent. He said he sent the estimate but I never got it. I made sure he had the right email address but he said that he had the wrong one. I finally got the estimate and there were things on there that I had questions about. I called him and he was going to contact Rick about it. I finally got a revised estimate. From the initial inspection by Rick until now has been about a month and a half. I said it looks good, let’s get this on the schedule. John told me that he wasn’t in the office and would call me in about 2 hours. He hasn’t called me back and it has been three weeks since I told him to schedule it. So in total so have been dealing with this landscaper for about over two months. This landscaper is not reliable and would not use them if the world was coming to an end and they were the only landscaper on planet Earth. If they are not reliable enough to put my job on the schedule, they are not reliable enough to do the job. Buyer beware of this fly-by-night outfit.

This is what my wall looked like 36 months after installation. This wall became a safety and aesthetic issue that needed immediate attention. I paid about $10,000 for the original wall and about $9,000 to have it dissembled and reinstalled. Not to mention the fence gate lock that was installed not to code - this was also fixed at my expense. Oh, and part of the fence had to be removed and reinstalled to get to the job site - another $1400. The job was substandard with inadequate drainage. Driveway fabric was used instead of geo-textile - another cost cutting measure that compromised the wall. John, the owner and operator, seemed POWERLESS to reasonably fix a job that clearly was not up to standards. A retaining wall should last longer than 36 months and a contractor should fix these gross errors at a substantially reduced/nominal cost. I would not recommend this business. Buyer beware.

This company is extremely professional. Their work is outstanding. I would highly recommend them.

I am very satisfied with the work MDM did at my house. Always on time, professional, and courteous. Beautiful craftsmanship.

They rescued us from a disastrous water leak
They were prompt efficient and did a beautiful job. The price was very fair. They are a pleasure to deal with. So nice.

We highly recommend MDM Consrtuction. These professionals completed our project in a timely manner and their work is meticulous. We are very happy with our new addition and attached garage.

MDM Construction provided us with a quote on a remodel.
Though we ultimately did not go with them, we would entertain a quote from them on any future projects.
Would highly recommend anyone looking to do a home remodel project to obtain a quote from MDM Construction.

MDM was great to work with from start to finish. They were extremely professional and their workmanship is second to none. The attention to detail was amazing. They were a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a contractor.

MDM's team was on time and very professional during our renovation. The work was completed on time and the job they did was great. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them.

MDM has done 2 projects for us and we have just contracted for a third. We highly recommend them. They do what they say they will do in timely fashion and are flexible in problem solving. Workers are pleasant and neat and clean up at the end of each day. We give them five stars!

We are more than thrilled with everything MDM Construction did to enhance the look of our kitchen. Their installation of new countertops, sink, lighting and backsplash was absolutely outstanding in every way.

From initial contact through finished product, MDM was fabulous to work with, did what they said they were going to do (and when they said they would do it), and were focused on fine detail and excellent project management every step of the way. The 2-man crew was neat and nice and absolutely customer-service oriented. Their goal seemed to be to make us happy not only with the finished job, but on a daily basis as well, always ensuring that our kitchen was as usable as it could possibly be when they left for the day.

I'm saving the best for last. We had never used MDM before, and like most consumers, we had questions about an untested company's integrity. This is where MDM really excelled. At one point in the process, a potential issue arose with a supplier. It was a situation that could have easily resulted in finger-pointing, but MDM ensured that it unquestionably didn't. Their attitude was "your contract is with us and we're going to make it right." And they did, with absolute professionalism.

We can recommend MDM Construction with absolutely no reservations. They are definitely at the top of our list for future remodeling projects.

Recently bought a house and wanted to knock down a wall to open up the space between the living room and kitchen. After asking around, MDM construction was highly recommended. They did an amazing job! The project turned out great and changed the whole look and feel of the house. They were very trustworthy and worked around a very busy family schedule. I would absolutely use them again and I would highly recommend them.

MDM Construction installed new basement windows and remodeled the basement. They were a pleasure to work with. They understood my vision and provided useful solutions to bring the project to completion. I will use them again in the future for other projects and refer them to friends and neighbors.

MDM Construction was one of the very best contractors we have ever worked with. Their workmanship, attention to detail and willingness to answer our questions was excellent. We were always notified what time they would be at our home and who was coming. MDM also did the electrical work, installed recess lighting, trimmed all doors and windows, moved a doorway and installed two new doors. We would highly recommend MDM Construction to anyone who has an upcoming home project. You will not be disappointed.

We had MDM Construction complete our bathroom renovation project. John, Matt, and Dan are very professional, clean, punctual and kept us updated on every detail from start to finish.

Their craftsmanship and professionalism are top notch.

We highly recommend MDM Construction for your next project, we will definitely use them again in the future!

We had an extensive home renovation project MDM Construction completed for us- a sunroom addition with front porch and walkway, two bathrooms, a laundry closet and a master bedroom. We were extremely pleased with the craftsmanship and care they put into their work. Everything was done meticulously and came out better than we could have ever imagined. All of the crew working with MDM on this project were trustworthy, dependable and timely with their deadlines. They made a complicated project fun and manageable on our end with very little stress. I cannot say enough good things about the quality of their work and their professionalism. I would recommend MDM Construction to anyone and am actually looking forward to calling on them for our next home improvement project.

The MDM team provided an exceptional overall experience and high quality of work for our bathroom renovation. From start to finish they were organized and communicated well. Also, they consistently kept their work area and our home clean and tidy. Would not consider working with anyone else for future projects. Thank you, MDM!!

MDM is a fantastic contractor to work with. I used them to build a beautiful new addition onto a historic house, and they matched new with old seamlessly. I also used them a few years later to completely remodel a bathroom and have been so pleased with the result. I have recommended them to multiple friends and will continue to do so. This father and 2 sons team are true craftsmen, with careful attention to quality and style. They are also friendly, responsive, and highly conscientious. And of course, they are excellent value.

We could not recommend MDM Construction enough after our recent kitchen renovation!!! Everyone on the team was wonderful work with. We were very impressed by their quality of work and attention to detail. They were also very understanding and flexible with us needing to be in and out of the kitchen area throughout the day. They always arrived on time and left each day with the house clean. As a bonus they even greeted our dog every morning which he was very pleased with :)

We already have plans to work with them again in the near future for a deck project. If you’re in need of a contractor, do not hesitate to contact MDM Construction!!!

I contacted MDM to install a new front door. Always on time, very professional and responsive. MDM does exceptional work and has great craftsmanship. One of a kind contractor I would always recommend

MDM remodeled my very small bathroom! It was amazingly how they made something so small to look bigger and so much more functional! Great job! Just beautiful!! 👍👍
