We've used John Carroll for for annual maintenance at my daughter's house but recently used him to replace HVAC at house we downsized to. He replaced furnace and AC, as well as replacing an 80 gallon water tanks with a tankless water heater. We are very pleased with the results. John was very fairly priced, patiently answered my many questions, and he and his crew worked very conscientiously without making a ruckus. I couldn't believe how many ducts and tools and pieces were needed in the work site in our basement but when they finished everything was completely picked up and neat. Carrying out the old 80 gallon tank was a task in itself but they maneuvered up a narrow staircase with no damage. He did safety check on gas lines and at my request removed some that were no longer needed, as well as adding a furnace duct and a return in a finished portion of the basement that will. I researched the Rheem AC and furnace and the Navien tankless water heater, and all top of the line at a great price. The installations are beautiful. I would highly recommend John.

John was punctual, competent, efficient, and fair with the cost, to bring my Crown boiler quickly back into service. He willingly shared his in-depth knowledge of this heating system and more reliable, simpler zone valves.

I have used Carroll Heating and Cooling several times. From a new furnace at one house to a new water heater and ductwork work for new addition at another house. John easily located the source of a gas smell I had in my house for years. The leaky pipe joint was quickly replaced. Always professional and on-time. Pricing was extremely Fair and John will always be my first call for my heating and cooling, Etc needs.

I found John's name and contact information on the Irondequoit group on Facebook after several people had recommended him for HVAC services. After my furnace ignitor began to malfunction, I called him up and he was able to come over to look at the problem on the same day, and summarized my options to remedy the problem including parts, materials, labor costs, etc. As my boiler system is over 30 years old at this point, I opted to go with a brand new one. Knowing that my boiler may be nearing the end of its lifespan (and in the middle of winter) John scheduled himself for the work within a week's time. He was in my home all day and installed my new boiler along with the accompanying new piping, parts and fittings, including expansion tank, shut off valves, flu vents, etc. He was very professional, thorough, courteous, and cleaned up my basement and left it the way I found it. I would highly, highly recommend him to others.

I would like to add something to this post since I last wrote it. A week ago Sunday, 2/5/23, one of my pipes burst in my porch/Florida room, spewing water all over the floor. I called John, who came over to my house on a Sunday (and within 15 minutes of my call) , spent an hour or a little more at my home and fixed the problem. We are so lucky to have someone like this who lives in our community in Irondequoit!

John was absolutely my hero last winter!! My furnace died in one of the coldest weeks of the fall. John was mobilized and had my furnace running for an incredibly reasonable rate within 24 hours so I could be warm. He then returned and detangled my super inefficient ductwork so my heating bills have dropped!! I never felt that he was trying to sell me anything I didn’t need and have been tremendously pleased with the performance of my new heating system over the past year and a half. He was always super personable, responsive, professional and put up with allllll my stupid questions. I couldn’t recommend he and his business highly enough!

I had John install a tankless water heater for me and I was very happy with the finished job. He was very professional, knowledgeable and left the work sight spotless when finished. The job was completed on time and on budget. I would definitely recommend Carroll Heating and cooling.

After several estimates, went with John Carroll due to his timely response, knowledge, professionalism, quality of equipment used, and competitive yet fair pricing. Installation was done on time and efficiently. Very happy with our decision and would highly recommend John.
