This company sucks!!!!!!! Oncor hired them out to butcher everyone's trees in TX. They came onto my actual property without permission. They butchered a 60 year old oak tree in my yard. They were supposed to trim the trees on the county road, not go onto people's properties. They also parked their wood chipper in my driveway and made my boyfriend, who was in a full size truck with a trailer attached, drive in the ditch to get in his own driveway, instead of getting the hell out of my driveway. They left crap all in the ditches, they did the worst clean up job ever. This company deserve 0 stars. Do not use them.

The driver of truck 141-0468 enjoys driving in the right hand lane at a slow speed never allowing anyone to pass. One star for courtesy.

Couldn’t be more disappointed… threw a pile of trash (mostly bottles) in our tree line when they didn’t think anyone was looking, peed in our bushes and demolished multiple blackberry bushes. All they asked was access to the power lines and said nothing about taking anything on our property down… the bushes weren’t even close to the power lines. Completely disgusted by these guys who left a mess on our property.

This company is contracted through Penelec in northwest PA. They took down a previously marked tree. I watched as the two man crew made quick work of two trees on my property around the power lines. 1 trim, 1 removal. The guy on the crane zips around without any regard to what's around it. Mangled a replacement tree 14' from the one he took down (the tree being removed was small, still below the power lines). Any attention to detail or even attempt at preserving this new 8' tree would have saved it. Made a complaint to penelec and of course they just kicked it back to Lewis. Lewis will "talk to his guy" about safety, but they won't do anything about the tree, since it is not clearly dead. Doesn't matter if it is mangled. But "if it dies in the next day or two, call me." What a joke. I won't even go into detail about some of the lines of communication went with the tree crew. If this company is on your property, video it.

This company has shown up on my property many times uninvited, they have not given any heads up or indication of working on my property. They have left a large mess every time. And most recently damaged my front yard and at this time are not taking responsibility and even blaming other tree companies that's don't work in the area. Grown men that need to be babysat to do the job. If these guys show up in your neighborhood I'd be concerned as the careless and laziness they continue to exhibit on my property annually.

They were contracted by the power company. They damaged flowers and shrubs. Their drivers were on their cell phone while driving. Terrible tree trimming company. It was worse than the pictures show.

(I like how they only show the positive reviews especially when considering how many bad reviews they have.)

Extremely disappointed !

I don't know who did your work but here in Hampton, MD they've butchered our fence, and the gate by dragging huge trunks and branches through an opening that is entirely to small to get through. I watched one worker get a branch stuck on the fence and instead of putting the trunk and branches down he just kept pulling and yanking on it until it broke the fence gate. They've also cracked the vinyl, knocked the tops of the slats off and also ripped out steel rings in the ground that keep the shrubs in place and standing up straight...
I spent almost all day yesterday cutting the grass, weed eating, raking, and cleaning up the yard in preparation for fall and they've totally made a mess of our yard!
BGE contracted them to cut the trees back and away from the power lines which we GREATLY APPRECIATE since they cause a lot power outages whenever we have bad snow storms or if it gets very windy. However there is simply no excuse for sloppy work, breaking things on our property, and the simple laziness they're demonstrating by not cleaning up after themselves and not paying attention to what they're doing. I'm so tired of peoples attitude towards work and the lack of pride one should take putting in a good, hard day's work. People just don't care anymore. And I'm no racist but it doesn't surprise me that all the workers except maybe one are Mexican. I don't even want to give a full star but I have too or I can't post my review... Not Happy with their work AT ALL.

Well they're back.... Today they're butchering my neighbors trees and yard and at noon, one of the workers decided to go sit IN the next door neighbors FLOWER GARDEN and have his lunch... These people have no intelligence or respect!.

Ughhh... They're back again! And this time we the neighbors would not let them on our properties without police presence. That's right, we had to have the cops there to ensure they didn't destroy anything else. As well as losing power for 8 hours on a 90 degree day so they can come back and fix the job they hacked to hell to begin with. I hope to NEVER see these people again. 2 out of 5 stars... Do you even care that your employees do such garbage work management? A bunch of our trees look like someone took a huge machete to them. Thanks guys.

They knocked on my door saying they were going to trim the trees from the power lines as you can see from the pictures they did more than trim trees they destroyed my property they left down trees on bushes now that are going into my yard the skid steer dug up my yard and all they did was rake it it's still terrible so if this is the work you want these are the people you should hire hacks

Lewis Tree Service is by far the worst company I’ve ever dealt with. They came onto my property while trimming my neighbor’s tree and decided to cut down a large portion of my bushes (without my permission) that were nowhere near the easement. These bushes provided essential privacy for my backyard and were completely destroyed for no valid reason.

To make matters worse, even a Duke Energy inspector confirmed that there was absolutely no reason for Lewis Tree Service to touch my bushes. Despite this, the company has refused to take responsibility or fix the damage they caused.

If you value your landscaping, privacy, or property rights, stay far away from this company. They do what they want, damage what they want, and leave you to deal with the consequences.

The city of Cleburne tx hired Them to come cu trees away from power lines and cut limbs down all over my wooden fence breaking several panels. Supervisor came took pics, said he would replace it the following day but surprise never showed up.

DANGEROUS AND DISRESPECTFUL! The power company apparently hired these people to trim tree near the lines but I only found out when I had to leave my house to pick up my children only to find that they completely parked me in my own private driveway, without warning, and proceeded to laugh as I was forced to drive through my neighbor's yard. They were also carelessly cutting branches over my children's playset when I came back. This is terrible service and poor business hands down. I was tempted to call the police and report thier intrusion and negligence which threatens public safety and private property.

Nice to see all the one stars…. It seems to me this company doesn’t care at all about people and gets all its jobs from the utility companies.
I was told these branches cut over power lines would be taken away. Instead Lewis Tree Service thought they would kill my grass. My relative who lives next door to me asked the workers if they were removing the wood and was lied to in response.
She was told I instructed them to leave the wood there, because that’s what I want lying on my new grass.
I have been expecting a call from a dispatcher but have not gotten a call. The tree company is back today and shockingly did not bring the grass seed I requested.
Absolute zero accountability here…

Theres a team from this company (has the logo and plates from new york) down here in Port Charlotte florida. They not only blocked off my mailbox, but one of them pissed in the road while I watched! I should have called the cops, this is not okay. Im adding the truck and the spot where they went. I should also note, they did this in-front of four cameras.

The Electric Company (AES, formerly Dayton Power and Lighting) hired Lewis Tree Service to trim the trees around the power lines in our area.

The first problem, nobody knocked or alerted us they were present. My girlfriend looked out the window to find a stranger completely cut out 10 foot of our privacy hedges (unnecessary as the privet hedges never get taller than 10 feet). In the decades the hedges have been here, no routine trimming or tree service ever cut them - the lines are 20-25 foot off the ground.

The second problem, as I'm at work, my girlfriend goes out to talk to them. Finds out who they are and why they're here. Explains the situation with the privets, nicely asks them to stop cutting them out and to call a supervisor to talk to if they decide they need to cut them again. The trimmer agrees. Two hours later, they're cutting 10 additional feet of privacy hedges out of the other side of our yard anyway. At this point, the neighbors are outside, furious/yelling at the trimmers. They finally call a supervisor.

The third problem. The sheriff shows up to assess the situation and explain they need to leave. The trimmer my girlfriend originally talked to suddenly no longer speaks English and they blame that as the reason for the issue.

Had the sheriff not shown up, they were planning to cut out an additional 20ft of hedges and spray vegetation-killer in that area. They also failed to trim one of the trees at my neighbor's place actively growing through the power lines after moving through our neighborhood. My guess is they were upset he was one of the neighbors yelling to them.

Edit 6/7/21: Lewis Tree Service reached out after this issue to make the problem right. Despite the issues that occurred, I respect their group and willingness to work on it.

I’m giving an honest review-William & David from Lewis Trees-cleared some trees by the power lines, were very professional, told me what needed to be done, and cut them down with precision. Excellent job.

They set up so poorly on my road they had people drive all over my hill that was planted with grass and bulbs.

Great way to come home from work to see my yard ruined. 0 care from the crew lead said it was the people driving by.

Be very careful if Lewis Tree Service is working in your area. They were doing line trimming for AES-Ohio and promised me notice before entering my property, but never provided it. I only found out they were there because they cut my fiber internet line… and then lied about it. By the time I arrived on site - I found that they’d butchered my healthy trees -this has been a bit of a nightmare that has also unnecessarily ruined a once thriving, natural habitat.

Tree service is an oxymoron. Tree butchers is more like it.

They came through to trim my trees away from the power lines for NOVEC. I understand this is a necessary process. They were supposed to contact me before the trimming process. They didn't. I came home to find them finishing up.

That being said, they completely butchered several ornamental trees leaving them severely unbalanced and susceptible to falling in the wind. They have effectively killed others by topping and removing every single branch leaving just the main trunk. How is the tree supposed to live?

And their idea of cleaning up after themselves is a joke.

When discussing the trimming practices with the General Foreman, Mr. Jenkins, he tried to feed me a line that the men just trim back to previous cuts from 3 years ago. Sorry, tree branches don't grow to 8" in diameter in only 3 years. Nice try at lying! I know my trees well enough to know that when you only leave one main branch on one side and cut off all the others, they didn't trim back to previous cuts since there used to be several main branches. Clearly their crew are untrained and are just paid to chop.

Mr. Jenkins then told me he would have the arborist named Rick get in touch with me regarding rebalancing my trees to hopefully save them from splitting or blowing over. Either Mr. Jenkins is blowing me off or Rick is.

I will be letting NOVEC know about their unprofessional service and strongly suggest they get another company.

We did not hire Lewis tree service but they were sent by Florida Power and Light to trim limbs around power lines.
The two workers napped for at least 2 1/2 hours and removed barely anything. They were here the entire day. When we called FPL and complained they sent the workers back the following day and instead of finishing the word they should’ve done, they cut palm fronds from another tree and piled them up in our front yard with an orange cone on top . We had to finally call the inspector at FPL to remove the pile from the front yard. We FPL customers are paying for this poor service. Terrible

Hired by duke energy to clean power lines was supposed to knock on door did NOT. About three days ago I had a new gate built for the side of my yard that is 5’ wide. Instead of using that they plowed a machine threw the other side that was NOT secure and obviously compromised due to poor weather conditions from hurricane season. They took down boards from a fence in the front yard and hit my mailbox. When confronted they said they did not know English but then bent the mailbox back into place. When I called there corporate number I was told to call the police if I was that unhappy with there services. Poor poor service.I can not stress how UNPROFESSIONAL this company is no wonder they have such bad reviews and with that statement im sure this review is going to fall upon deaf ears with them but hopefully it will help anyone out there needing tree service. RUN!

I would never hire this company if their service is anything like how their employees drive the company truck. I live in Florida, just north of Sarasota, and was almost hit by a company truck. This lunatic almost side-swiped me getting onto 75 from 301 in Ellenton, then proceeded to swerve into my lane and almost hit me again. I witnessed him tailgating other drivers, almost re-end 2 other people, and be a total jerk to other drivers. I plan to tell everyone I know to avoid this company and never hire them to do anything. It's one thing to drive your personal vehicle like this, but to have total disregard for other people while driving a company truck with their logo on the side shows absolute disrespect for the company you work for and their property. How do you think they will treat your property if they don't even care about their own!?
