Constraction reviews in Chapel Hill, North Carolina

When my wife and I first considered renovating our kitchen and bath, it was a pretty daunting experience. I really wasn't sure how or where to begin. I dropped into Kitchen and Bath Galleries in Chapel Hill and from the very first visit, I felt welcomed. Julie welcomed me , offered me a cold beverage, and showed me around. The process was explained as I went from a general orientation to their services to a meeting with an excellent designer, to a discussion with their appliance sales, to receiving a list of general contractors who could oversee the process, to finally working out the details of what we wanted done and how the work would unfold. Obviously, on the second visit, my wife came with me and she had the same appreciation for the informative, friendly, low-pressure atmosphere that I did.
Kaylor Russell, our design consultant, had lots of good ideas and knows a lot about not only general design but the specific lines of cabinets and counter tops they offer. Weighing the pros and cons of various options with her was helpful. She was also able to direct us toward options for things like flooring, wall tiles, and other things that they don't provide directly but that were integral to the process. The information she provided also conformed well with what I found in other expert sources, which helped to instill trust and confidence. That was not misplaced.
Matthew, who helped us choose appliances, similarly did a great job of guiding us toward what he felt would suit us best, with no pressure to move to higher-cost options. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the prices he quoted us were in line with prices available at big-box stores or online. There was no price penalty associated with benefiting from his advice and guidance. A further surprise, when it came time to actually pay for the appliances, he let us know that a seasonal sale offered through Kitchen Aid would actually save us some additional money and that, in addition, we would qualify for rebates because we had bought three major appliances (refrigerator, wall oven, and dish washer). He also gave us all the serial numbers and other information we'd need to claim those rebates.
Kaylor cam to our house at several stages during the process, initially to help us determine what we wanted where, then to take measurements, and later to check that all was going as it was supposed to. We made a last-minute change of adding a couple of drawers to the counters. When the drawer handles were put on, the builder realized that the handles from one set of drawers would interfere with the drawers set at 90 degrees to them. The solution was to swap out two of the standard pull-out drawers with pop-out drawers that open when pressed and don't need a handle. Kaylor took full responsibility for not having caught the issue, even though it was something we added at a late stage, and said that there would be no charge for replacing the standard drawer mechanism with the pop-out mechanism. It's a nice feature that we would have been willing to pay for but she said that, absolutely, there would be no charge.
Kaylor asked us what sinks we were planning on for kitchen and bath and said that she would check whether we would do better on price ordering them directly online or having her get them through their distributor. For these particular items, the online price was substantially better and she encouraged us to go that route unless, for some reason we preferred not to. We did order them online and did realize a savings. This was typical of a pervasive concern that we be pleased with the end result and no apparent pressure to buy things that might have netted them a bit more profit.
We're very pleased with how things have turned out. All the folks at Kitchen and Bath Galleries were helpful at every stage. They're knowledgeable, friendly, and easy to work with. If you're considering kitchen or bath work, I'd strongly encourage you to check them out. -
10/10 would recommend! We wanted someone local to buy a new range from and they were so easy to work with. The price included delivery & installation, which was one less things to worry about. Going to be buying the rest of our appliances from them. Pricing was comparable to big box stores, maybe a little extra, but definitely worth it for the support they provide.

Kaylor is the best thing that ever happened to this place. My wife and I were shopping kitchen cabinets at another local vendor and ended up choosing K&B Galleries. The price was great - service from Kaylor is beyond a 10 - and we can't wait to see our new kitchen put in. Incredible business and we are thrilled with the progress so far!

I purchased a new refrigerator, microwave and oven from Kitchen and Bath Galleries.
I worked with Matthew. He provided excellent service. All through the process, he followed up in a timely manner. He made great suggestions and his product knowledge was very helpful.
The delivery guys were extremely careful and professional.
While the big box stores may have been a little less in cost, they couldn't provide the level of expertise that Matthew and K&BG did. -
My husband and I recently had the pleasure of working with Kaylor and Josh at K&B Galleries. Both contributed to making our kitchen redo a smooth process. Kaylor is an amazing kitchen designer, and Josh was very helpful in choosing appliances and handled their timely ordering and delivery. We were very impressed with Kaylor's talent and professionalism. She was so responsive and flexible, worked closely with our contractor to coordinate work, and was essential to keeping the project on track. Kaylor's attention to detail was absolutely impeccable. She took the time to understand our needs and preferences, and then skillfully incorporated them into a well-thought-out design.
The final result was a kitchen that not only reflects our personal style but also wows everyone who sees it. We wholeheartedly recommend K&B Galleries (and in particular, Kaylor and Josh) to anyone seeking to transform their kitchen into a functional and visually stunning space! -
I cannot sing K&B's praises enough! Our initial meeting with sales rep, Matt Schumann went very well. He was knowledgeable, took the time to understand what we wanted out of the appliances for our home renovation and then helped us select beautiful appliances that also fit in our budget. They delivered everything on time and the order was correct. Delivery guys were great! A few months after install our dishwasher went bad, not only did Matt hop right on it, he introduced us to Julie Bauers, Client Services Rep, who has been an absolute godsend helping us deal with GE and manage their warranty and repair process. Everyone is extremely professional and communicative, I cannot recommend them enough. I will certainly work with them in the future and refer friends and family to them.

I first met Nick Vaughn and Matt Schumann in 2005, when I was renovating my kitchen! They and their installation team did such a fabulous job and were so fun to work with! These last 8 years I have worked additionally with Katie, Kaylor (design team) and Matt Stewart (appliance team) in a professional role, and the kitchens and baths they design and install are divine! Katie, Kaylor and Matt have such vast experience, and have the beautiful ability to listen to their clients and tailor the client's new spaces to their individual needs. Their thoughtfulness, patience, creativeness, responsiveness, professionalism and sense of humor create a process that is unforgettable and makes you want to renovate with them again!
