We had an incredible experience working with Edwin on the full renovation of our 1910 historic home. This was not a simple remodel — the house was taken down to the studs, with everything replaced including walls, floors, ceilings, doors, windows, wiring, plumbing, deck, and landscaping.

What truly sets Edwin apart is his ability to blend modern construction with historical character. He transformed the home into what feels like a brand-new house, while still preserving the original charm and integrity that make it special.

The project was completed within budget, which we really appreciated. While there were a few delays along the way, they were related to county permits and completely outside of Edwin’s control. Throughout the process, he remained professional, communicative, and committed to delivering high-quality work.

If you’re looking for a contractor who can handle complex renovations — especially historic homes — and deliver outstanding results, I highly recommend Edwin.

Edwin and his team rebuilt our deck, including some design changes. He had a very good grasp of what needed to be done and how to do it. My husband who is a retired general contractor was impressed with Edwin and his team. Edwin is knowledgeable, professional, and did a good job communicating with us and with his team. His team cleaned the job site at the end of each day. They finished on time and on budget. We love our new deck and are happy to recommend Ground Up Construction.

If you have any flooring needs I would highly recommend Ground up Construction. Edwin and his crew completely replaced our downstairs hardwood floors. They showed up on time everyday and finished the project on time and at a fair price.

Ground Up put a small shed on the back of our house to cover the stairs into the cellar. Through out the process Edwin was always in communication with us about what was going on. Every chance they had to do something that made the project a little better, they did it. This was a small project, but they didn’t treat it like one. Crew was always happy to talk with us and cleaned up everything before they left. Turned out better than I could have hoped.

I called them pon a satirday cause I moticed my roof looked “wavy” they came out the next day, sunday and fixed the prpblem which was caused by a direct tv dish. They were done in 3 hours and I no longer have to worry about any leaks. These guys are great. I mean, who works on sunday? They do.

Edwin & Gerson are the best for giving customers ideas for basic and complicated remodeling projects here in Charlotte. Our place needed a replacement hand rail and in a very short time, Edwin set up the appointment and then Gerson designed and started working with his crew to make a beautiful handrail for our entryway. The house looks so different and improved that our friends keep missing the house, since it looks so new now. Couldn’t have done it without Edwin & Gerson!

Edwin and his crew Ground Up Construction did an amazing job for me.
They constructed a built-in linen closet in a space of my upstairs hallway in 2 days. And they also installed pendant lights in the kitchen over the island and track lighting to help brighten up a dark area in my home.
I would use them again and again and again. They were very professional quick and very polite.
