We drove 2 hours to come visit and it was totally worth it; would highly recommend this adventure! An exceptional experience and high quality plants too.

I just started rebuilding all of my plant beds and the staff have been very helpful. The plant section is great and the newest options for fall plants are just coming in. I worked with Amy who helped me with planing and lets me know when to plant which verity I also have mulch being delivered this week.

I LOVE THIS PLACE. Visit the Potting Shed for drinks while (or before, or after) you shop. House plants are available inside and they rotate new inventory constantly. Only slightly more expensive than big box stores and the plants are WAY healthier. I visit at least once a week, usually for either new pots or new plants and then I end up leaving with both. All plants pictured below are from FGS!

Beautiful place, but the staff is not as nice as you would expect them to be. I once called and asked if they had the dark green heart-shaped leaves Philodendrons. She had no idea what plant I was talking about, then became rude when I said it was a very common houseplant. I asked if I could speak with a supervisor, thinking they would understand what I was talking about. She irately said “I AM the supervisor”. I was shocked at how rude this person was, and just as shocked she didn’t know what a heart-shaped philodendron was. I said Thank you, anyway and hung up. I then called the Durham Garden Center where they are always polite and knowledgeable when you have questions. Of course, they knew what plant I was asking about, and they had plenty. I have posted a picture of the philodendron I was asking about so you can see it’s not an unusual plant in any way. It’s okay if you don’t know something, but you certainly should not be rude to potential customers. This certainly is a beautiful place to walk around and look. It’s when you have questions that you will experience poor customer service skills and bad attitudes.

Shout out to Noël for helping me choose the perfect plants for the planters on my front porch! I am not at all a plant expert so I really appreciated her guidance.

Beautiful place with such friendly and helpful staff. I got the cutest plants there and left feeling my soul full. Highly recommend visiting!

We recently remodeled our backyard with For Garden's Sake and we're very happy with the results! The team is awesome and very responsive and was what we were looking for. From Billy's design chops to AmberLeigh and Viridian coordinating the whole thing and Jack keeping us up-to-date on the job site, we found the whole experience to be pleasant and straightforward. They even got us in touch with a deck builder and worked with us to adjust our overall design plan to fit our budget. As you can see, we opted out of the plants for now, but that just goes to show you how versatile they are!

I LOVE this place. The plant selection is amazing, they're well taken care of and visibly loved, the labeling of pet safe plants is thorough and helpful, the staff is always warm and eager to help if needed, great outdoor and indoor area.
I used to bounce around, buying my plants from Lowe's, Home Depot, Target, and the farmer's market in Raleigh, but I think I'll stick to here from now on.
This place deserves all the good reviews it's earned. The layout is a little cramped but it lends to the cozy and relaxed atmosphere more than anything.
If you're debating on trying this place out, GO FOR IT. Prices are reasonable too, plus there are a lot of kid friendly activities to keep them busy, including a separate outdoor playground. I'm serious, this place is great. Even though it's insanely hot in the summer, they have great air conditioning in the indoor areas and circulation in the shaded outdoors.
Thank you guys for everything you do, my family swears by you -
This was my first landscaping endeavor and Garden Sake did a wonderful job. They were very responsive, especially since they were last minute changes requested by the HOA. I enjoy working with everybody. This is a great company five stars.

What a gem to find on a Sunday afternoon!
I loved the many different house plants and varieties of orchids! -
They have beautiful plants and shrubs and it's neat to watch the chickens, ducks and other farm animals. There's also a pond. They have a landscaping department I plan to use in the spring to redo my garden.

A magical wonderland for all the plant lovers out there.
This place is massive! Plants everywhere, pots everywhere, everything you'd ever need!
The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable of the plants available. I probably spent an hour here and it was so worth it. When you think of a plant shop, this is the place you think of. Plants hanging from the ceilings, climbing up the wall, everywhere you look something new catches your eye.
I will definitely be returning and I'll be bringing some plant lovers with me! -
For thousands of years, I would drive past for garden’s shake shake on the way to Costco.
When my body turned 40, a gardening gene code was released within and now I am buying trees and perennial flowers. I have been gardening since July, and have managed to create a 10 year garden in under 3 months. There are few garden stores I like to visit and this is a good one for the reasons that include: there is a wide selection of kinds of trees, shrubs, flowers, the staff are knowledgeable and helpful with loading things in your car, they serenade you on Friday’s with live music and at other times with emotional music, the staff have walkie talkies, there are live animals to feed and stare at, checkout lady wears a Van Gogh hat, the parking lot has plenty of space, there is a plant potting shack to help get your plant potted, there are plenty of wheel carts to use, there is one restroom for customers, and they sell soap. For these reasons I would recommend for your garden needs. -
In 2022, I finally decided that the poor drainage situation in our back yard had to be addressed. I've had other landscape services that disappointed me and was determined to get a qualified & dependable company this time.
I researched the landscapers in the area and found For Garden's Sake was a well run and very reputable organization. I reached out to the folks at FGS and gave them a description of the problems we were experiencing. Nick contacted me and we arranged to have him survey the property to do a landscape consultation. During the consultation, my wife and I worked with Doug (FGS's landscape architect) to detail the items we had to have fixed and some others that would be a 'nice to have'. From that, FGS developed a proposal showing all parts of the planned project with explanations for each segment. We then had a meeting with Doug to adjust the scope and materials to fit our budget and, once it was agreed upon, schedule the work. We were away for the initial portion (regrading and old sod removal) but were there to see the rest as they progressed. The worker were efficient, competent and considerate of us and our property.
Total time for the work was 11 days. The results were amazing! One of the best parts was the work done to create a walkway and disposal bin pad from the garage driveway to the backyard deck eliminating the walk through soggy grass. I would highly recommend FGS for their expertise and professional work. The people there are devoted to making the customer satisfied and providing the best service possible. -
We bought some herbs seeds like cilantro, mint, chilli, basil. This place has a large variety of plants. The service was friendly. They also have very rare plants which were imported.

One of my favorite plant nursery in the triangle and I've been to many! They have much more variety than other places for both indoor and outdoor plants. This year they had a HUGE selection, much more than when I last visited in August of last year. Most of the prices I saw were very fair and the staff seems knowledgeable as if they at least get some degree of training on plant care. They staff is very friendly too.
The overall area is cute to visit. They have goats chickens and ducks outside and a little outdoor seating area though I never see any coffee truck or anything so not sure what the seating is really for.
My latest visit I got two new houseplants, a succulent for $7 and a fern for $17, both of which I thought was fair for the breed of plants they were. The only other plant supply I LOVE in this area is actually a traveling bus called Rooted so this is my top place for plant nursery with a physical, permanent location. -
I purchased 2 beautiful plants (a Frosty Fern and a Norfolk Island Pine). The staff was helpful and mentioned that there's a bar and live music during the Spring/Summer months. I can't wait to go back!

My favorite place to go for plants. They have a variety of plants/flowers that are of good quality. All the employees there are highly knowledgeable and friendly. In 10 minutes an employee picked out the perfect arrangement for my flower box. It’s absolutely gorgeous, they are very talented. I also appreciate that they teach classes.

We had a fall wreath making class there and it was super fun! It is also a beautiful place to visit - they have many interesting plants🪴 . We also had a good time watching the goats, chickens, and ducks :)

My office was last minute looking for Valentine’s Day gifts for our colleagues. When I came into For Garden’s Sake, Morgan was eager to help! I gave her our price range and she laid out different options for me; I was a little weary as I don’t have a lot of experience with plants, but how experienced and friendly she was reassured me. They were able to put together and deliver almost 100 BEAUTIFUL plants+pots in just a few days. Absolutely amazing customer service, and beautiful plants! I would recommend For Garden’s Sake to everybody!!

Great experience so far with the FGS lawn maintenance crew! Best part of the experience has been the superb communication from Amourly who keeps me up to date on upcoming services, when the crews will be coming etc., etc. Her response time to the many queries I've had in 2025 as a new customer have rivaled a 911 center! Hopefully FGS knows how great an asset she is to the lawn care team!
