Great job on our patio. Ours was a big project and Joe handled it all amazing. They really do good work! Definitely would recommend them for anyone needing some improvements for your yard. Customer service is very good as well!

If in could give six stars, I would. I did my due diligence with my large patio and outdoor kitchen project. A bunch of solid companies in the area, don't get me wrong. The part that sent Joe and his team over the top was the quality of the work and customer service/follow up. He was constantly asking me to be critical of the work and to make himself aware of any complaints, no matter how small. Daily check ins, if not twice a day. Price wise he is very competitive as well. Had I known at the time the level of service I'd receive, in would have been more than willing to pay more. A great business and a great business owner who goes the extra mile to ensure satisfaction with the work product.

Joe's crew just did two small projects at our house and they did an excellent job with both of them. One was a short stone wall in our back yard and the other was a concrete pad for our trash cans. Both were done quickly and efficiently and they cleaned up everything thoroughly when they were finished. I'll be using Ideal Cuts again for any future stone or cement projects.

We hired Joe and his team last spring and were a client of his for approximately half a year. All was fine until August. Their work became inconsistent. Joe said he was facing employee shortages which is understandable but I wouldn’t be charged the same amount for less work. After emailing Joe, a crew came out and quickly mowed our lawn. However, we found that they failed to edge near the trampoline or under the swing. They also broke one of our chairs. I emailed Joe about it. That was August 20th. He never responded and they stopped showing up. Finally, I texted him on September 25. He responded that a dog toy that was mowed over flew and broke the chair. He also said he emailed his clients in August that he was ending residential service. I never received an email nor did he ever respond to my original email. He said he was sorry and that was it. Future and potential clients beware.

I had to share what a great job. Ideal cuts did on our back patio project. The first 2 blocks of concrete were already at the house when we bought it. He added on the third plus the fire pit and tied it all together with a beautiful border and a staining to make it look seamless, like it was all there from the start! I would absolutely recommend them for any project you have.

I have used a few different services in the area, and while none of them were bad, they don't compare to Leapfrog. A friend has an absolutely gorgeous lawn and garden. I asked her how she keeps it up and she told me to call Leadfrog. This sounds like a commercial, but I am so glad I did! When they came to provide an estimate, Greg was thorough, listened to my concerns, and took great notes. A few weeks later the team came back for our fall pruning, and I can honestly say they did the best job I've ever seen. They trimmed, like I asked, without butchering and over prunning. The beds now look tidy without being too manicured, which is my preference. They also installed a few plans and were knowledgeable about placement in relation to sunlight and drainage.

The best part, for me, is the excellent communication. Rondi always replies to my emails and has answered so many questions. (Sorry, Rondi!) The crew that comes is friendly and they always check in with me, which I appreciate. I also appreciated that they were able to make recommendations that worked within my budget.

Edit to reply: No, it’s the correct company. You did a large project($13k) for us a few years ago. To say you have no record of it is misleading or you are confused.

I’ve wanted to post this review almost every day for the last 3 years and kept saying it’s not worth my time. As I have to walk past it daily, I guess I’m finally upset enough to do it.

We trusted Leapfrog to fully landscape multiple large areas of our yard. This included clearing out existing bushes and weeds, preparing beds for new plantings, installing their suggested plants and finally mulching all of it. Plus a stone covered drainage ditch. We met with them multiple times to discuss the plan and they crafted a seemingly wonderful design. It was overpriced(call it Cary pricing) but they worked with us on the budget dropping from $19k to $13k, strangely without adjusting the plan at all. Very much appreciated and so we executed the contract. Maybe the price adjustment reflected the future quality of service.

Clearing and install seemed to go well. As with any landscaping project, it mostly looked great from the start albeit with a few issues, some of which we didn’t realize at the time. Plant spacing and location was questionable on a few items but trusting the experts to do what they do best. More on that later. Mulch is normally 2-3 inches to prevent weed growth and retain moisture. Ours was wildly inconsistent and sparse which quickly led to lots of weeds and poor plant growth. I installed another 20yards of mulch myself to make up for it.

We followed Leapfrog’s recommended watering procedure for over a year. As the plantings started to grow, we were excited for them to mature into the look we hoped to achieve. Then we started to realize the problems.

1) We requested rows of trees to provide privacy from our neighbors. It was discussed heavily about the need to block views into our backyard due to its unique nature. 5 years later and the recommended emerald arborvitae don’t block anything. Seems like the wrong plant choice by Leapfrog.

2) We requested a tiered look for the front facade that requires minimal maintenance. The design had three rows of plants. At the time of install, we questioned which plants were supposed to be in each row and were assured that everything matched the plan. After two years, it was abundantly clear that either the plan was incorrect or they were installed incorrectly.

We have a row of loropetalum up front that completely covers the two rows behind it even with regular trimming. There is a dwarf Japanese maple that is being swallowed up by some other loropetalum. We’re about to rip out all of these purple bushes due to Leapfrog’s mistake.

3) Multiple(6) dwarf gardenias were planted directly underneath two existing medium trees. We were assured this is ok and they’d thrive there. All except for one struggled to grow at all, maybe in competition with the trees, maybe poor sunlight. Again, we’re not experts and asked for low maintenance. Another poor decision by Leapfrog.

4) We have a side yard where one of rows of arborvitae was planted and it abuts the drainage ditch mentioned. This side yard has been the bane of my existence. From crepe Myrtle shoots to grass to every type of weed you can imagine, this side yard has seen it. The improper clearing/tilling, poor area prep for drainage, wrong tree choice all led to a disaster and extremely high maintenance item. When discussing the rock covered drainage ditch, we knew weeds could be an issue. We were told the best possible option is putting the rocks on top of the existing ditch as they would block the sunlight. No geotextile, no digging out, no spraying. Another mistake we eventually learned. The side yard and ditch are the biggest headache we deal with from spring to fall.

There’s more but Google cutting it short.

Bottom line: Communication was excellent. Very friendly and responsive. Happy to have supported a local small business. But a lack of expertise and rough implementation have proven this to be a poor investment in the long run. Photos incoming.

Pruned high hedges, cleared overgrown forest area, lay down mulch, killed weeds, and Aerated lawn. They even left us a bag of seed if we noticed places where seed didn’t take. Very professional.

Leapfrog Land Care Joe and his team do a great job; I highly recommend it.

We have used Leapfrog for nearly 10 years for landscape plantings and care, and for general lawn care. We have found them to be among the most knowledgeable lawn/plant care companies in the area. Even the technicians on the various teams that perform the treatments and tasks required of them are knowledgeable about what they are doing and why... and proactive concerning issues that should be watched for and/or also considered. Very, very professional and effective!

All the staff, whether in the administration office or on our yard, are knowledgeable and respectful as they do their various jobs. They give enough time ahead of treatment to make sure it fits with one’s own schedule. They always are very patient with me, a nearly 75 year old woman, as we had moved from PA, and I needed to understand different kinds of yearly yard treatments. Our yard looks wonderful! We just sold our house, and the yard, 6 years later, looks fabulous. Well done, Leapfrog!

Great experience with these guys. Joe gave great recommendations and was on top of it all. Need more guys like him in the service industry.

We had a vendors presentation at Carolina Gardens in Fuquay Varina. I informed Gregg of a problem I was having with one of my Arborvitae trees turning brown. After showing him a few pictures He immediately informed me that I had an infestation of bag worms. He came out the same day confirmed that was the case and immediately scheduled me for treatment. Within a few days my trees and my next door neighbor, who was having the same problem were treated and the problem appears to be under control.

We used another lawn service but were not happy with poorly timed notices of problems in the lawn, so switched to Leap Frog. The owner himself came out to talk about his company, offer suggestions that were based on science, and was professional and courteous. The first year we noticed a marked improvement; we received timely notices of upcoming problems in the area or in our lawn that made such a difference—in other words they really care! We have been so delighted that we recently included our trees in their services!

Leapfrog crew did an awesome job installing my french drain and dry creek bed. I’m always impressed with their professionalism and expertise.

I am pleased beyond expectations in my new home with detailed planning by John and installation performed by Dallas, George and Benny. John, especially was a delight to work with.
