My original five star review is below, but I felt the need to amend after a disappointing response when our facilities failed shortly after their "repair."

Beware of this company. They provide professional work with a quick response but will not budge on cost despite their own lack of due diligence and root cause analysis. Instead you will be left with a large quote for additional service that may or may not fix the actual problem. My advice: seek an alternative plumber.

Master Plumbers provides expert service with clear scheduling. Jordan and Jeremy are clearly knowledgeable professionals. During their time on the job, they worked hard but still made the time to communicate with us. The end result is that our old house has a new, robust drainage system, and our toilet will no longer throw up.

Wanted to charge me over $900 for a tankless water heater flush after they came out and charged me $300 for trip charge and diagnosis (reading the error code a 2 minute diagnosis). Other companies charge around $300 in total for this job. These people are highly dishonest. It cost me $300 for them to come out and not do anything. I’d rather pay an honest business another $300 to do this job than give Master plumbers another penny. I will also contact the BBB and my HOA to report their dishonest practices and to ensure no one else falls for their unscrupulous practices.

Came to the house and I took the guy to the leaking pipe. Started by telling me I had a pressure regulator and a valve that should be replaced but never addressed how to repair the leaking pipe. The next step was to go to his truck and prepare a proposal to supposedly solve my problem while still not making any effort to address the leaking pipe. His proposal was for over $4000.00 and still he hasn't begun to see about fixing the pipe. Total Dog And Pony Show!!!! Charged me $300.00 for the show. I won't ever be stupid enough to call these people again and if anyone reading this does, Shame on you and you have no one to blame but yourself.

I am giving them one star because they answered the phone at 6:45 on a Friday morning and had a plumber out to my father’s house the same day for a busted pipe. What really hurt was that they gave him a bill for $1,200 for a 30 minute job. The pipe was under the sink and there was no demolition that had to be done, but my dad had to pay $500 for necessary demolition. My dad is an 83 year old Vietnam Veteran that had to have water for the weekend. He had to pay the money. It’s sad that their charges are so much for such a small job!!! Do not look for them unless you have deep pockets!!!!!! So sad this is what companies have turned into!!!

Stay clear of these clowns. So disappointing. Overpriced and sub-standard labor. Cancelling membership because 50% of their ‘repairs’ didn’t last a week. My wife and daughter repaired in 25min a sink pop-up after their guy wouldn’t touch it (even though he installed it himself two days earlier) because it was ‘customer-supplied.’ Didn’t stand by his own labor. Brand new faucet installed in second bathroom was found leaking two weeks later (now with cabinet damage so obviously leaking much earlier - probably at install). Guy didn’t have supply line with him, wants to come back with it on Monday (if we supply new faucet) and reinstall for a measly $800! Again not standing by their labor.

BEWARE! - YOU WILL PAY AN EXORBITANT PRICE IF YOU USE THIS COMPANY!
I called Master Plumber to repair a p-trap in a bathroom toilet, install a new toilet in the same bathroom, and repair and or install a new garbage disposal. They said they could come that day for a $85.00 truck fee, which means a fee to bring their truck to your house - doesn't include any diagnostics. When they arrived I was told they needed to do a complete inspection. Really? Why?
After the "inspection" they went out to the truck to "work up" an offer - the BEST price was $6,760 which included a membership and a second toilet we had never discussed. SHOCKING!
It took 1 technician 10 minutes to repair the p-trap at a cost of $424.00. Ok, lesson learned, I know plumbing is expensive but really? Not long after they left the p-trap was leaking. They returned installed a new p-trap, stating the one I had was faulty. About an hour later the p-trap was leaking again. So once again they replace the p-trap but you guessed it– yes, leaked again. I called Master Plumbers and told them the issue, they said in order for them to come back out tonight (after 5pm), it would cost $200+. I said at that point I didn’t want them back out; I wanted my money back - that did not happen.
The Owner, Lee, who informed me that he had 30 years of plumbing experience and would make sure that p-trap was done correctly and would be out the next day. He did not show - he sent the same technicians that came originally. Installed the p-trap, at this point I don’t know how many gallons of water they have run down the drain. Guess what happened after they left? Yes it leaked again. I called Master Plumbers and received a voice message from Lee, “that he was sure it was something other than the p-trap and they would come out again, but when they find it is something else I will be charged.” I called the office and asked for Lee to return my call to discuss this entire disaster of an experience ... crickets!!!

Plumbing company review. Master Plumbers Heating & Cooling Greensboro

Worst experience ever –Oct. 2025. BE WARNED, STAY AWAY!

Corporate-owned entity (Leap Partners, Nashville), sold 3.2025, by the original owner, now operations lead.
Needing attention to a burst pipe while off on vacation led to this awful company. The horror show included 1) astounding/unnecessary high billing costs; 2) most expensive repair techniques employed - corroborated by several seasoned plumbers & city inspector; 3) young, lesser experienced technical teams; 4) dangerous building code violation (inspector verified); 5) ‘creative’ billing; 6) complaint lodged with the CEO, corporate office, following bullying & claims of expertise by the operations lead; 7) corporate-generated apology letter which included, amongst other issues, the recognizing of poor leadership, poor customer relations interface and building code lapse; 8) a meagre refund (less than 10%) for the discourteous experience; 9) An unappreciated, unsolicited preventive project plan at a crazy proposed cost of $75000 (total bunk); & 10) an itemized receipt received only after multiple requests.
The technician teams were courteous and clean. Their inexperience demonstrated re: code lapse and adjustment failures of the pressure reducing valve (required subsequent plumber attention). The company even added another trip fee for the return visit despite their failures of workmanship and knowledge!
Charge of $3750, over twice what it should have been.
A corporate apology letter was acknowledged. Nevertheless, we feel compelled to provide fair warning to potential customers. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!
Believe this review, not the excuses undoubtedly to be offered. Even a signature attesting to satisfactory work done was never provided at the ‘completion’ of the job. Rather, it was electronically embedded into the No such signature was ever provided.
Our present plumber, independent, is a gem. No trip fees. No truck fees. Just plain honest. Do your research before you are in need.

I’ve been a Master Plumber Club member for several months, paying monthly for routine HVAC and water heater inspections. Unfortunately, the value just hasn’t matched the sales pitch. Every “included” inspection has turned into a heavy upsell attempt.

At my most recent visit, I was quoted $3,593 for repairs that should reasonably cost about half that in the Charlotte area — things like cleaning blower wheels and a flame sensor, replacing capacitors, adding safety switches, insulating a drain line, and installing an EZ trap. I was also given a $14,637 quote to replace my 10-year-old heat pump, even though it’s still fully serviceable and showing normal readings.

Bailey was very nice, professional, and clearly doing her job, so my issue isn’t with the technicians. It’s the company’s approach. They will continually call and pressure you into approving repairs, even when the items are routine maintenance or optional add-ons.

What makes this especially frustrating is that the original water heater replacement they performed failed inspection. It wasn’t placed on a solid foundation in the crawl space, and the overflow/overpressure drain line wasn’t routed according to local code. The job felt rushed and incomplete. Because it followed a water-damage emergency, they had all the leverage — I didn’t have time to shop around, and I overpaid significantly. I was pushed into joining the club membership to “save” on the job, yet the pricing was still extremely high.

Now that I’m no longer in crisis mode, I have the time to shop for reputable vendors before approving any repairs — time I wish I’d had during the original disaster. I don’t mind paying for legitimate work, but I expect honest recommendations, code-compliant installations, and a membership that adds value instead of pressure. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience.
