I've had Curry Electric over to my house a few times now (once for a basement fluorescent lighting issue, a couple of times for a short in my garage electrical), and I've been very pleased with the work they've done. Each time they've come over, they've been very professional and efficient in resolving my issues and fixing things. One of their electricians, Chuck, has been a genuine pleasure to observe in action - extremely nice, friendly guy. I'm happy to have found Curry Electric and will continue to use them in the future.

Nothing but great things to say! The team at Curry was professional and did an amazing job. They kept me updated on progress and made sure to ask me if something needed to change. They were flexible with my home being redone and cleaned at the same time and still got the job done. I would highly recommend Curry Electric.

We hired Curry Electric to install can lighting in two different levels in our house. They finished the job in one day, but what impressed us the most was the level of professionalism, workmanship, and respect for our property from the electricians. They left the house the same condition it was when they arrived even though they had to cut holes in drywall, deal with attic insulation, etc. Not only that, they discussed changes with us rather than proceeding without and provided unique solutions for problems caused by an old house. We would definitely recommend them for any work needed.

Curry is fantastic. I bought a century home still wired on knob & tube, which made my insurance none-too-happy and me a bit nervous. After shopping several area companies and one-man shops, I got the recommendation to call Curry, and I'm so glad I did! From the first conversation with Justin, to nearly three weeks with Mike and Chris rewiring my home, I was amazed at the level of quality, craftsmanship, and care they took with the project.

Other companies would quote horror stories of ripping channels of plaster out, cutting across ceilings, and into priceless woodwork. Mike and Chris did none of that, and they cleaned up every night. Incredibly hard workers, talented craftsmen, and experts at old homes. I'd call no one else.

I LOVED my experience with Curry Electric!

I am an architect, and I had my entire 1898 Victorian 6-bedroom home rewired when i was seven months pregnant with my first baby. Oh... and did I mention that we were living there during all of this work? Am I crazy? Maybe a little...!

I was so worried it would be a stressful experience, or that they would destroy the historic plaster in my home. I couldn't be more pleased with how everything turned out. My experience with Curry Electric was smooth, stress free, and they were able to fish the new wiring through the old walls, starting from the attic and working down, with very minimal damage. I am amazed!

Curry Electric sent out one of their most experienced electricians, Mike, and his apprentices. They were at my house every weekday for a month at 8am sharp, ready to get to work. Yes, it was a BIG job! Mike was friendly, knowledgeable, had a passion for historic architecture, and was very accommodating to my particular requests. His team installed several new fixtures for me, and even advised me on which ones to pick out!

Every night the "job site" (aka my house!) was left clean with all the electric still on. They even looked after our 3 big dogs when I was at work all day! When the job wrapped up I was sad to see them go!

The customer service was amazing. Every person I spoke with at Curry Electric was professional, prompt, and patient, from the first phone call to the final inspection. They quoted me a lump sum for my very large job and did not go a penny over!

I give Curry Electric an 11 out of 10 in all categories - quality, professionalism, customer service... you name it!

Our experience with Curry Electric from start to finish was excellent. We were in the process of selling our house and found out we had to correct the aluminum wiring. They worked us into their schedule in a matter of weeks and they completed the job on time. Their price for CopAlum was lower than the other companies we got estimates from. Billy and his team cleaned up each day and made sure they didn't damage anything. We highly recommend Curry Electric and will definitely call them any time we need electrical work in the future.

Mike came over 11/2025 and helped me diagnose an electrical problem quickly and updated all my 1955 wiring to proper pig tails and offered other advice Can’t go wrong with this firm

I am an experienced realtor with 30 plus years of experience. Curry just finished replacing old knob and tube wiring in one of my Mt Lookout listings so we could close on time. They worked diligently over the holidays and communicated with me and the Sellers almost every day. I’ve used them many times through the years and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend them for all your electrical needs.

Our electric panel had a catastrophic failure. I got three bids to replace it and Curry came in at less than half the price of the other bids. We wanted to use them because they did a great job fixing our aluminum wire issue. The technicians were great and even replaced a couple of dead outlets outside the house. After letting my in-laws know of the work, they called to have the same work done.

I had a short in a light fixture and after fixing the short couldn't get the power restored. The breaker didn't want to reset. I called Curry and the person answering reminded me that the breaker had to be pushed all the way to the off position before resetting. That fixed the problem. They could have come out and made a quick buck doing the same thing. I appreciated their concern for us and our home. Will definitely use Curry for any future electrical work.

We needed a few electrical tasks done in our home. The scheduling process was a breeze and Larry Smith was here within a day of our call. He came out on a sweltering day. He had to turn off the electricity to the part of the basement where he was working and the poor guy was drenched in sweat, but was one of the nicest, most efficient people I have ever met.

Larry did a beautiful job repairing everything and the bill was so reasonable. We couldn't be more pleased and we will call on them for any electrical needs. I recommend Curry Electric unconditionally!

Update: I had occasion to use Curry Electric again this week. I have been one of the volunteer caretakers of the Mt. Washington Cemetery for the past 37 years. We have a beautiful fountain in the cemetery, but it stopped running.

Joe Buring of Curry Electric came out to the cemetery yesterday and, with exceptional attention to detail, he installed a new GFCI outlet, repaired other parts of our electrical system, and left with the fountain running like new. He was so personable and a perfectionist at his job. We were completely satisfied with his work.

I had an electrical issue arise that resulted in me being totally without power late on a Saturday afternoon. I did not know who to contact and, given it was late on a Saturday afternoon, I was having no luck getting in contact with an electrician. Additionally, my electrical problem involved a break of my incoming underground power supply lines, which can be a challenging repair involving splicing supply lines from the transformer to the meter. I discussed the problem with someone who had prior experience in these matters and received a recommendation that Curry Electric was highly experienced in matters like this and did excellent work.

I am so glad that I decided to use Curry Electric, because they certainly lived up to their reputation. From the point in time that I placed to initial call to Tim Curry (the owner), things started moving. The particular electrician on the job was Tyler…..highly professional and extremely fine at the work that he does. Tyler did a first-class job to get the problem resolved, and both Tyler and Tim did a great job of getting me back in business and power restored. Mine was a particularly difficult job that took quite a bit of time to do right. Tyler worked long and hard on getting the job done. However, what I particularly like is having confidence and peace of mind that the repair was done right and by the best. Thank you so much Curry Electric….I am so glad that I came across your company.

We have used Curry Electric several times to do electrical services at our home and have always been very pleased with their service. (We are no relation to the owners). We just had them replace outdoor light fixtures at our home and were able to schedule the job within 1-2 weeks. Tyler arrived on time and was very knowledgeable, efficient and courteous. He did an excellent job replacing the lights and the update really enhances our home. We highly recommend this company.

I had a fantastic experience with Curry Electric! They did rewiring work in my basement stairwell and installed several new recessed lights and switches, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. From start to finish, their team was professional, friendly, and communicative.

They arrived on time, completed the work as scheduled, and left the space spotless when they were done. I also really appreciated their honesty, fair pricing, and how they worked with me to ensure the design and positioning of the lights and switches were exactly what I wanted.

I highly recommend them and will definitely be using them again in the near future!

HIRE them!!!🩵 First of all, they’re open for EMERGENCIES (only) 24/7!!!😮🙌🏻 Amaaaaaaazing! Most electrical companies are only open Monday through Friday. They’re also on Angie’s list as a preferred company! The lovely lady who answers the phone & schedules, Josie, the owner’s daughter-in-law, is awesome. By the way, Josie is a (four year) college graduate with a degree in social work🥰
I called at 7:30 this (Monday) morning, semi-freaked out, because we have had partial power since Saturday night. The only thing that is working is a few of our lights and (thank God) the plugs where are refrigerators are. Other than that, for two days, we have had NO power to anything in the kitchen, our alarm system, irrigation system, air conditioning, washer, dryer, hot water heater, etc. Josie told me that someone had just canceled their appointment for this morning so, by the grace of God, I lucked out to get an appointment this morning!!!! Josie gave me a two hour window this morning and told me the electrician, Larry, would call me to let me know when he was on his way. Amazingly, I got a call from Larry, shortly thereafter, telling me he had finished a job early and he was on his way to my house. When does that ever happen (an electrician arriving early)?!😊
Larry arrived on time and immediately got to work. After shutting off all the remaining power to the house, he went back outside and after disconnecting some wires at the electrical box outside our home, he started using the Fault Locator and was able to fairly quickly locate the line break which caused our power failure. Incredibly, he was 100% correct. He dug up an area several feet wide and several feet deep and found the bad line. Astonishingly, a very large, very heavy, rock, weighing approximately 10 lbs, was literally laying on top of the power lines! There was tremendous degradation of the one line causing the power failure, and the aluminum had oxidized to powder. Zach, apprentice (fourth year of school), helped Larry dig out the huge hole to thoroughly expose the lines. Larry called Duke Energy and they sent out a a lineman to disconnect the power to the bad line. Then, Larry and Zach cut out the bad section, and also cut out the same sections of the other two lines, as a preventative, since the other two lines would have been getting very hot being in such close proximity to that bad line.
Larry and Zach spliced the lines and replaced them with new materials. After making all the repairs, the Duke energy lineman went back up in his bucket truck and reconnected the lines. Larry and Zach then checked the power to everything to make sure there were no issues and that that everything looked great and worked great. After ensuring everything was working correctly, Larry backfilled the hole with all of the soil that had been removed, excluding the rocks that were found in the hole. Then, he put back the large chunks of grass that he had carefully removed. All of this took approximately five hours.
We are SOOOOO very grateful to CURRY Electric for getting us on the schedule immediately and for Larry and Zach taking care of our power failure immediately!!! Kudos to the Duke Energy lineman, too!Curry Electric is an awesome company! We HIGHLY recommend this company!
UPDATE 10/11/23 We hired them again. This time for a big project; to run power out to our driveway columns so we can have driveway gates installed, and also to have power to our driveway columns for new column lights. Mike and Joe did an outstanding job! Brock and sons boring company bored underneath the lawn, and driveway, so power could be pulled. Mike, amazingly, was able to pull power all the way from the far end of our house, in the unfinished basement, which continued through our finished downstairs, and to the outside, without drilling a single hole in the interior walls!!!😮🤩 Thank you Mike & Joe for your diligent and meticulous work. Everything went amazingly smooth!!!💚

Oh my God what can I say about Tim and his crew. They are life savers. When Duke Energy became the villain, Curry became my heroes. Even in a snow storm when others where reluctant to help me out with my power outage, these guys came in and got it done in a day. No BS kind of guys and get stuff done. Highly recommended and will use them again for all my electric needs. Amazing people and took care of me like if I was their family member.

To say we are happy with Curry Electric is a huge understatement. Curry did an almost five week rewiring and electrical update of our 4000 sq ft, 102 yo old house. We got five bids and went with Curry because they had a crystal clear bidding process and a plan that made sense to us. We are so glad we did. Justin was professional, thorough and reassuring with our big project, and he assigned Mike to us as our project manager. Mike and his assistant Kevin were timely, professional and extremely easy to work with. After hearing a million horror stories about other knob and tube removal jobs, we were amazed at how little damage we had to repair afterwards. There were no surprises in our final bill, we were kept informed of all changes and we have emerged with a safer house that feels modern while retaining its charm. Thank you Mike, Kevin and Justin!

Suggest some edits: normal business hours 730-330. Currently reads 4pm. Overtime rate of 220/hr rate is for travel to and from the job site as well as at the jobsite. $79 service call fee also applies to calls outside of normal business hours even though cost of travel to Jobsite is charged. Only given the rate but not how it was applied when I called for service.

Wished I had read the reviews before hiring Curry Electric.  The complaints on here were my experience as well -- sending two men (which you'll be billed for) to a one man job, while one man stands around doing nothing, rude customer service, over billing, etc.

I still rated 2 stars because the electrician was competent at his trade.  Unfortunately, the organization lacks leadership and ethics.  If you read this and go with Curry Electric, consider yourself warned!

I was told that running 3 new wall outlets from basement to second floor in a old home was too small a job and that I would be charged $65 per hour for a quote... despite their claim that I was charged for quotes in the past... in fact I've never been charged for a quote by them ... and I won't be using their services any longer. I've spent thousands of dollars with curry over the past 5 years or so.
Normally I would give 3 stars for average service... I am giving 2 stars because I didn't like how I was treated as a loyal customer.
I wish them the best in their future business endeavors, however, I will find a new electrician for any electric projects that I need completed.

Overcharged for job. $300 for simple job adding new housing unit and wire to outlet in wall. I believe I was charged to have second person at my home because he was in training. Guys were here 1 and half hours and put 3 holes in ceiling to run the wire down the wall. The main electrician spent time on his phone about how to get keys to next job because they couldn't get in. Should have been a 1 person job but I was charged $84 to have a helper that was not needed for my home but their next job. Had used curry electric several times in the past and never had any issues feeling like I was overcharged. I was surprised when I was to pay at the end but it wasn't until I looked closer at the bill that I got really upset. This was without a doubt a 1 person job. I We will never call them back to do any other work. Very disappointed with owner response and think she is condescending and rude over the phone to a loyal customer calling in questioning why there was an $84 charge for this second worker. I paid Curry electric to TRAIN a new employee that day and it is more than disappointing!
