I have used Brian and his team for both a large and small project at two different properties. Each time the work was completed in a very timely manner and the end product was exceptional. I'll be using them once again on a future project and I highly recommend their services.

I have been a SmithScapes customer since 2008 when they turned my postage stamp yard into a lush paradise complete with all the things I wanted including a pond with water falls, bubbling rock and bridge!! Then they suggested a sitting wall which completed the project. SmithScapes shows up each spring to clean the pond, trim all the foliage, mulch the beds, power wash this and that and start up the sprinkler system. At other times Brian is quick to respond to my inquiries on changes and quick to send help when my yard needs a mid-season spruce up. I recommend them for your landscape needs of all kinds.

Smithscapes did a fabulous job! All of the neighbors kept commenting on the quality and professionalism of this company. My new patio and retaining wall look great! And, throughout the whole process they were always available to talk and would show up on time.

We are very happy with our backyard walls and grading/landscaping. They exceeded our expectations. Communication was easy and transparent, with quick responses when we had questions. Allen and his crew did great work and were very flexible when we requested some additional improvements that were not in the original plans. Would highly recommend!

They did a nice job on most of our patio and landscaping project. But they failed to adequately supervise the contractor they hired to build the steps and landing, causing me to have to direct that it be partially rebuilt, and adding delays. They failed to put protection around a tree they planted and a deer destroyed much of its bark in the first week. The owner refused to replace the tree, claiming it would survive, despite the fact that it is clearly weakened and ugly, and will die prematurely according to the literature, which I shared with him, to no avail. For a $150.00 plant, he squandered the good will of a customer who had paid him over $30,000 for a project. If you hire this company, hold something back until they have done what they promised.

We used them for completely renovating our backyard including installing a new deck, retaining wall, paver patio pool deck, fencing, and lighting, and landscaping. Smithscapes was very responsive and did an amazing job! Smithscapes coordinated gathering permits and working with sub-contractors, while keeping us very informed. This is a company that follows through on their commitments and does the work in the timeframe initially given. I would highly recommend.

From start to finish, SmithScapes did a great job paving our patio, it has totally transformed our backyard. The workers were punctual and professional and took pride in their work. We couldn't be happier with the results and we would definitely hire them again for future projects.

I made the call to SmithScapes after needing some improvements to my back patio and landscaping. After initially not being happy with an installation of a seating wall and firepit from a different contractor, SmithScapes worked with me to design a much more professional and flowing design of a new seating wall, firepit and foundation stone that really pulled it all together. In addition, their landscaping design around the hardscape provided the finishing touches I was looking for. We enjoy sitting out back most nights and SmithScapes was key in creating that comfortable and professional looking space.

We recently purchased and renovated a home that was built in 1929. The backyard is dominated by a massive oak tree that predates the home by 30-40 years. When we wanted to landscape the backyard, our top priority was “don’t harm the oak tree”. We knew this would really limit our options because any landscape changes would have to be built up, rather than dug down, in order to protect the vast root system of this tree.

We spoke with Brian Smith about our desire to make our backyard a more useful and livable area. He listened to our ideas, and thanks to his years of experience, offered workable options. Together, we developed a plan that protected the oak tree and fit our needs and budget.

We love our new backyard! Brian took it from a useless myrtle-covered eyesore to a relaxing 3-season living space with a view. Now we are able to entertain family, neighbors and friends. We had a great experience with Smithscapes for our outdoor living space build. From the original meetings to discuss concepts to design meetings and into the build process they were great to work with. Quality workmanship and excellent value. Sarah designed a small patio area for us last summer. Construction began 6 months later which was the exact time frame they gave us. The crew worked very hard for two or three weeks in the dead of winter. Now that the weather is better and we have been able to use the space, it has become our favorite spot to be. They did an amazing job. One glitch regarding something we thought we were getting but turned out not to be part of the original estimate and would be an additional $7k…so that was disappointing, but overall incredibly happy with our experience with Smithscapes and love being in our new outdoor space.
