Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be another public platform that doesn't belong to Oakland to post reviews. Hiring a landscape design to date costs $350 minimum. If you like the design, the plants are not sold to you at a wholesale price. You'd pay retail. The labor 50% more than the price of the plants. So, if a tree cost $200, the labor to install that tree is $100 per tree. This information is calculated from the estimate I was given. I provided an entire list of plants I've collected over years. I know plants, just dont know how to design. If the designer listens to you, you might get a few revisions. Then the designer is also the sales person and manages the site installation. The designer I was assigned called me several times a week to see if I was going to "do it" buy the 8K plan he wrote up for a small residential front yard. Greenbeard did a GREAT job with miscellaneous spring clean-up at my mom's house (leftover leaf removal, edging + mulching, pulling up a dead bush, etc). The service was super easy to setup, there was clear communication throughout the process, and her yard looks awesome!

I signed up with Greenbeard for biweekly mowing service more than a week before the first mowing. No further communication was necessary. Greenbeard arrived on schedule, surveyed the property and went to work. They use a fast, very maneuverable riding mower that did a quick, even job on the lawn. Greenbeard got into all the corners, around my hydrangeas, and trimmed all the edges. I am pleased with their work and expect Greenbeard to continue reliable service.
