I called Norm for an estimate. He was prompt, returned my call right away and came out to give us an estimate. He followed through with the job, keeping us updated on materials and even stopped by to make sure we didn’t have any questions. Norm and his crew came out and laid approximately 16 tons of soil, put grass seed on it and laid some river rock for us. They were quick, cleaned up all unused materials and it looks great. I would highly recommend this small business.

Norm and his crew are knowledgeable, professional, and take the time to do things right. They have completed two projects in my yard and I am very satisfied with the work. I have one more future project and Pitzer's will be my go to landscaper.

I cannot say enough great things about this company. Norm, the owner, supervised the entire project in the fall of 2020. He is enthusiastic, energetic, knowledgeable, conscientious, and thorough. He followed up in the weeks after the grass was planted to make sure everything went according to plan and said he will return in the spring to do any reseeding if needed. They started by covering the lawn in high quality soil in which to replant the grass. They also suggested ways to reconfigure the lawn to avoid trying to grow grass in shady areas and artfully mulched the areas where grass would have a hard time growing. The grass grew in beautifully....so bright green and luscious! I could hardly believe it was my lawn! It was incumbent on me to water the lawn regularly after the planting, but that was an easy habit to get into. I couldn't be more pleased!

Pitzer's Landscaping is the best!! Mr Pitzer (Norm) and his crew saved my yard after extensive foundation work was done on my house. They graded, replaced topsoil, seeded, created a new mulched bed with dogwood, hydrangea, & boxwoods, and set up a temporary sprinkler system. Mr. Pitzer was great to work with. Excellent communication and great explanations about what he was recommending and why. Very easy to work with and coordinate with as his work had to be timed after foundation and drain work. He also took it upon himself to do one portion of the project early to minimize the time I'd be without central AC...so appreciated!! Since project completion, Mr. Pitzer has checked on the landscaping several times and done phone follow-ups to field any questions and share information about how I can maintain the work that's been done. Can't say enough great things about working with Pitzer's! The whole experience was extremely positive and I also feel that I got a very good value for the amount of work and care that was provided. I hired them to build up the area around the house. They were able to come out quickly and did the job in a very fast manner. They even found an issue w/ the drain on the sump pump (connection issue) I hadn't noticed that I need to take care of. Thankful for that as that could lead to some damage to the foundation. A quick trip to Lowe's for me saved $ down the road.

We can highly recommend this Landscaping company. It is a family owned small business. We were fortunate enough to contact them to install sod and some seeding on our small Victorian village lot. They showed up on time and completed the job in three days. The quality of the work is excellent and they used the best quality soil and sod. Norm, the owner, is extremely personable and helpful. He found us the best sprinkler to use for watering and was very thorough on instructions to ensure the sod will take root.WeI can highly recommend this company for any lawn and landscaping work.

Norm was an absolute star helping us to level the yard after some other work we had done. Do yourself a favor and start with Pitzers so you don’t need to have it done twice.

Norm, the owner, was a found gemstone. He addressed all the issues of my lawn and landscaping needs in a timely and professional manner. Basically he did a "makeover" while keeping it simple, looking very nice, and a big improvement. I am in agreement with all the other 5 star reviews. You are very lucky now a days to find someone who will answer your call, show up, and complete the job without a problem. I look forward to seeing my new lawn grow in.

Norm is such a pleasure to work with.. He's very knowledgeable about lawn renovation, is a straight shooter who does what he says he's gonna do and is very efficient at getting it done on time and budget. He and his crew were prompt to the job site, courteous, and hardworking .. They actually went above and beyond the scope of the job to get it "right". Norm was concerned about causing any lawn damage to the parts of my yard he wasn't working on, and went out of his way to see that no extra damage occurred. They cleaned up immediately after the job was complete, and followed up by phone with me the next day, to discuss anything I may have concerns about.. He has encouraged me to call him to discuss any watering issues, or with other questions about after care of the newly seeded lawn. I have had a couple of questions and he has gotten back with me immediately to handle any issues. If I have any similar jobs of this nature in the future, I'm not calling anyone but Norm !!

Norm is the best! He's prompt and reliable and equally as important, he was honest and straightforward about what went wrong with our lawn and landscaping. Norman Pitzer was very responsive to our request for an estimate and scheduled the job precisely when promised. He answered all of our questions and provided very good advice on what was needed in our yard. They just completed a re-sodding job in our backyard which was very difficult to do because of multiple stepping stones throughout. Norman and his crew did a great job! We plan to use them for a reseeding project in our front yard next fall.

Norm Pitzer's is the best landscaping business we have ever used, bar none. Reliable, critical thinker who can figure out what is needed/where, informing us every step of the way. We learned a lot. He replaced our entire front lawn which was damaged by construction and tree roots. He was our second estimate and did twice as much work for not much more money. He showed up when he said he would and worked long hours to get everything right. Used best top soil mixed with manure and fertilizer. Best mixture of grass seed for the lawn, hand raked in. No cutting corners. Set up for tripods for watering (large yard) and checked to make sure they were properly placed by watching the water, given the breeze. Came back the next day to be sure of placement of the tripods. Came back at 2-week mark to check growth and laid more grass seed where needed (deer had walked through). Called to tell us not to water for the number of days that rain was coming, just let mother nature do the watering. Will return to keep checking that the lawn gets well. established. Norm has treated our lawn as though it is his own, his own investment. Highly recommend Norm Pitzer's Landscaping. Will use again if ever need to.

My lawn had been overtaken by wild violet weed that even a professional lawn care company could not control. Norm came in and recommended a complete lawn replacement. He applied a herbicide to kill off the existing lawn, then applied a layer of high-quality topsoil and a heavy application of grass seed. Three weeks later I had a lawn that gained compliments every time I was out caring for it. The grass came in thick and plush and should look good for years to come. I'm very satisfied with Norm's work and his knowledgeable advice on how to best promote the growth of my new lawn

We built a new home in New Albany and had a bad experience with our seed lawn installation in the back. Norman Pitzer and his crew came in and completely re-installed the entire back lawn. They did such a thorough job preparing the property and the lawn is already coming in nicely. He really cares about the end result. I highly recommend this company if you want the job done right.

Norman and his crew did a fantastic job leveling and seeding our yard. Norman has always been communicative, punctual, and has made sure any of our concerns were dealt with. He came out after two big rains that catered the yard and dispersed the grass seed and cleaned it back up both times. The grass is coming in beautifully and we love our backyard. He also had some ideas we hadn't thought of for the yard which we went with and look great. Other neighbors have even been commenting on how nice it looks. Thank you!

We had a pool installed last fall and contacted Norm to replace the entire lawn this spring. Our lot is on a slope with a complex grade and he provided a quote to put in 100 tons of topsoil, seed and fertilizer. When we initially built our home 1 1/2 years ago, sod was put down over rocks and a hard clay soil and most of the sod was dead by the fall.

Norm followed-up several times in the winter just to stay on top of it as we were also having some additional work done prior to the lawn being installed. Norm just completed the job and it looks fantastic. Rich brown topsoil, not shredded mulch or soil clumps, which some companies use as topsoil. And he made sure there was plenty of seed and fertilizer, so the grass will grow thick. Overall, he was on top of the process, explained why he was doing things a certain way and the value is definitely there.

If you want it done right, Pitzer's Landscaping is the company to hire. We needed our backyard regraded to solve a problem with standing water and uneveness of the ground. We met with Norm and it was quickly apparent that he knew exactly how to do the job right and he was able to get the job done very quickly. Now, several weeks later our new yard is looking great and a heavy rain has shown us that the drainage problem has been solved. We couldn't be happier with the process or the outcome - enthusiastically recommended!

Had a great experience with Norm and his company! My lawn, after 20 years, had been eroding and looked awful. Norm put quality topsoil over the entire yard to bring it back up to a normal grade and seeded it...all in half a day. He was very helpful with explaining exactly what he was doing and why. He also gave us a detailed list of the maintenance we needed to do to help the lawn grow and followed up with phone calls as reminders.

I have a 100 year old house, so I also have a 100 year old lawn.
I've maintained it for the last 30 years, but lately it was just not doing well.
I tried filling in areas with topsoil and seeding, but it just would not take.
It needed a major overhaul, so I started calling for estimates.
Most contractors told me what they were going to do, which involved killing everything and putting in one type of grass.
I enjoy the violets, plantain, wild strawberry and everything else in addition to the grass, so I mentioned was concerned about keeping these.
I was basically told by everyone that they didn't work that way, and that I'd get things the way they wanted.
Norm Pitzer was the only contractor who actually listened to what I wanted.
He worked things out to where about 70% of the original plants would come through.
He and his crew got things done quickly, covering the yard with the planting mix, then seeding over top.
Norm left complete instructions, and even a sprinkler.
This really shows how he was thinking about what I needed before I even knew I needed it.
A month later, the yard looks great. The new grass has taken, and true to his word, all the other plants came through, looking bigger and better than ever.
This also included the dandylions, but one good weeding session took care of them.
The only downside is now I have more grass to cut, Ha-Ha.
I would not hesitate to recommend Norm to anyone interested in improving their lawn and landscaping.

Pitzer's did an excellent job on our backyard. We have tried several different ways to get better grass coverage and none worked. Norm was very straight forward and factual about what was needed. He got us on the schedule quickly and executed the job well. They placed down new top soil and heavily seeded the entire yard as well as a trouble area in the side yard. Everything came in great and he supported us by throwing down additional seed as needed. We would definitely recommend Pitzer's Landscaping.
