Landscaping reviews in Columbus, Ohio

Love this garden center for perennials and annuals. Also good for general supplies. Very nice selections and good layout and parking.

Went here to look for air plants. They had plenty and new ones getting in packed. Bonus points for store cat who is super cute and kind. They have a few treats to my dog who goes in with me too. Otherwise place is very clean and organized. Prices are good too.

Great selection of plants and pots/accessories, but the employee checking us out was quite rude and condescending. Also, there were multiple signs in the “house plants” sections advertising a potting service, however when we checked out and inquired about it there was no one who was able to provide this for us. Happy with the plants we were able to purchase but disappointed in the service.

For years I have shopped at Strader's Riverside location. The original Straders were neighbors in Grandview. Great people! Over the past few years I have watched prices go up, and customer service go down. The plants are loaded with green fertilizer, and do well in the greenhouse, but struggle in real garden circumstances. Last year I had flowers invested with bugs! I decided last summer my money is better spent at a real plant nursery!

highly do not recommend this location. i’m a property manager that manages the property next-door and Strader’s always leaves their carts, pallets and other odds and ends across the property line and we have tried and worked with them over the years, but they blatantly ignore us and have their employees purposely put their stuff across the property line.

Such a nice place to explore and pick up fresh herbs. I’d love to come back again!!

Is Straders going out of business? The selection was sparse, it looked like they were not watered (wilted), and the plants were are all jumbled together.
I asked about using a coupon for $5 off $35 purchase. Nowhere on coupon was it printed Plants Only. The woman at other register said, Plants Only. I said, it is Not Printed on coupon, just $5 off $35 purchase. I have no idea if the middle-aged woman was just crabby that day or if she is always like that. I think Oakland has better Plants & Customer Service. Or if I go back I will make sure I am far away from crabby lady. -
Kindness is hit or miss at registers but those on the floor are very helpful.
Very wide variety of plants. Plants look good and well cared for. Prices are good. Garden decor and equipment is plentiful and they do have some really neat decor! -
The selection is nice but I felt like the service person at the register thought I had the plague. My friendly chit chat went completely ignored. Its not the first time. Are these people sniffing the fertilizer?

Had a few good looking plants but man was everything expensive...the same palms they had on sale for 79.99 were 19.99 at Lowe's...most of the fruit trees had been dead for so long and yet were still full price

The staff was really friendly and helpful!

Large selection of indoor and outdoor plants. Also a great place for gardening supplies and pots/planters.

They have a great selection and a wide variety of gardening supplies. However, they sell several very invasive species and don't mark them as such. Bamboo, fine it'll take over your own yard. But loosetrife goes to seed and covers entire riverbanks! They know it is a terrible invasive but said they "keep it in stock because people request it". Why deal in unethical plant sales? How many unsuspecting people have bought it for the pretty flowers? So just be careful with what you buy from them. They do have a lot of nice ornamental varieties of native plants which won't overtake your yard/stream.

Great for plants.
Avoid the mowers like the plague. We bought a Toro here last year in late June. By September it wouldn't start consistently. By November, when I wanted to use it to mulch the last leaves, it wouldn't start at all. WhenI tried to get it scheduled for service, the mower shop guy on the phone cut me off and said "Did you drain the gas last fall?" before I could explain. I said no, and was then informed that it wasn't covered by warranty. When I replied that I didn't care about warranty, I wanted it serviced, he said it would be several months.
I struggle to understand why. It's not as though they're spending time on customer service. They could at least apply some toward actually fixing mowers. -
Super cute little garden center and place to pick up a Christmas tree. Very nice selection and indoors! Lots of great accessories and decor inside the store too. Would highly recommend for all your tree needs!

Great place! Very wide selection, helpful staff, and they even have lovely restrooms!

This place is very good for their selection and their prices. There are some nicer nurseries in Central Ohio, but they are FAR MORE EXPENSIVE !!!
-
Great place to find houseplants. I’ve had hit or miss luck with how healthy my plants stay. They don’t always have the non-plant items I’m looking for, but their plant selection is pretty awesome!

I buy my houseplants and garden flowers from here. They have variety of options and beautiful plants.

Went in yesterday with my daughter (11), just an awful experience. They have a nice selection of house plants, vegetables, and tree’s. Aesthetically it looks like what you’d expect a nice nursery to look like. The problem, just look at the common thread of every bad review, customer service. I wish I would have looked at the reviews before going, I at least maybe would have been prepared. 3 associates in the garden section repeatedly walked past us. Never acknowledging our presence let alone asking if they could help. When I did ask for help, asking about “Posy Power”, a dirt mixture they promote on every vegetable sign. The older associate looked at me like I had 4 heads. Briefly stated, you order it at the front counter. No explanation of what it does, what is in it, how to use it…I’m sorry, I can’t be the only person who has never heard of “Posy Power”!!!
We finally decide to checkout, spending 200 dollars getting some essentials for my daughter’s vegetable garden. At checkout I ask about Top Soil and Compost for some leveling I want to do for my yard. I get a finger point to the wall, that’s it, no words- where I guess soil and compost prices were listed. I mean about as rude and non helpful as I’ve experienced in a store in 45 years of buying products. Your two older female workers are as rude as it gets. I could go on, but just the most miserable and least helpful staff I have come across in a very long time. As we were driving the car to go to the back to pick up the “Posy Power” my 11 year old daughter says “Dad I think we should stick to our regular place”. She is talking about Oakland Nursery because we live closer. Point being, she could pick up on it…do better, do much better. -
I live in Southeast Ohio and was visiting my daughter when we stopped in this spring. I purchased the most beautiful Heliotope and they are huge now and were such healthy plants! ❤️ I will be back soon! ~Pam Alexander
