Fall festival and trick and treat events were amazing. Beautiful nursery, has everything. Wish I had a million dollars to spend there. Wonderful prices and selection.

Very helpful and patient staff. I didn't even know what questions to ask about planting a new tree in my yard, and the service person walked me through everything I needed to know. Great local resource

Every indoor plant I’ve gotten from here thrives. They have a huge selection and often have $3.99 plants that I take home to repot and could easily be $15 elsewhere! The staff is always knowledgeable and friendly. Would highly recommend this place!

Wanted to purchase a gift certificate from Oakland Nursery as a Christmas gift for my son. After filling in all the information as requested by Oakland on their website and only after placing the order was I informed the gift certificate had been instantly sent to the recipient via email. No explanation offered for other delivery options. When I called to stop the delivery they told me they couldn't do anything about it being delivered early. Clearly Oakland Nursery put very little thought in to setting up this gift certificate process on their website. Very disappointed in their service!

We got our Christmas tree from Oakland this year and had a great experience. The day we went, they had sleigh rides and were giving out their chili. The selection of trees, greens, ornaments, poinsettias, and other decor and gifts is incredible.
My son and I visited another day to see the reindeer. They do a great job of making a fun little farm-like experience right in the city. -
My wife and I bought one tree there last year and it looked like it turned brown and we called and tried to get it returned. Then they asked us to wait until spring of this year for replacement and continued to water it and let us know if it bloomed. So we called Matt and he's telling us he needs a receipt and it's been a year and we did not keep the receipt and was nor told to keep it from my understanding. Why can't we uproot this tree, take it to the store and get a new one or work with us? We still have the tag on the tree and the tree itself. Not sure why they wouldn't work with us. They're just saying they can't do anything for us. Would not recommend buying anything from them. Can you give me those photos of the tree you sent them to me?

Great selection of plants and experts on what was safe to have in my house for the cats.

Indoor nursery is sublime and the outdoor nursery, get ready to spend 2 hours in. I have bought many indoor plants that have thrived without insects or other issues. I cannot speak on outdoor plants myself except my best friend has many plants that are still kicking years later. Staff are always awesome. Prices are decent (outside of the gift shop area). I just love spending a few hours here on a date or by myself. If you’re a plant nerd, come here.

I Love this place‼️
Its a feast for the eyes, especially Spring-Fall‼️
But even now...we're in there buying beautiful house plants and rummaging thru the large gift shop‼️💜 -
If you are a plant person like I am a plant person, this isn’t a place you can go in and just walk around and come out without something in your hand!
Came home with two new African violets today. -
I always enjoy their plethora of home decor and their greenhouse is really large. I was able to find a few unique plants for myself.
During the holidays there are plenty of wonderful seasonal items as well as their fun weekend events! Really lovely place -
Always a great variety and great off season discounts. The staff is always helpful and willing to help load plants or other purchases.
Paved paths are great to walk around with a little one.
All locations have always been great stress relieving trips. -
Oakland Nursery has always been a favorite to browse their selections. Guaranteed to leave with new flowers after every visit. Nothing beats Oakland Nursery’s selection of annuals, perennials, trees, roses, herbs, bulbs, pottery, statues, tools, and more. There is always something new around each corner here!

I definitely recommend Oakland Nursery. It was my first visit.
There was only one employee that helped me and she did not know anything about the plants.
I went outside to look for the fruit trees and the lady that I tried to speak to, no English. I never found the fruit trees but I did find me some lovely plants. -
Save a phone call and don't bother calling them. I called in the spring of 2022 and asked for a callback. Nobody called back but I figured them they were busy. Called again in Sept.2022 and they someone would get back with me. They did not. I called at the end of October and left a message for a specific designer and told her to call me back this week. She did not call back so I called today, November 4. The person that answered the phone said they are way backed up and nobody would be able to come out this fall or winter to even look at our place.

Worst after-the-sale customer service experience I've ever had! But it started out ok, so let's back up to the beginning...
Great experience working with the designer (Brendan) to come up with a landscape plan. I had concerns about bushes and dormant plants being installed during the first week of March, with the likelihood of future freezes & snowfalls, but Brendan assured me by email that when the remaining plants were installed later in the season, they would "take a look to see if any of the perennials already planted did not emerge due to frost/moisture/any other issues and will replace those as well - likely we won't see any issues there." Remaining plants were installed before full emergence of the earlier plantings. Last step in the plan was for transplanting some existing hostas into the new bed, but they hadn't emerged yet. I asked & Brendan agreed that he should probably invoice for what had been completed to that point. That invoice was paid promptly.
Hostas emerged mid-April, so I emailed Brendan a couple of times to let him know; and acknowledged their undoubtedly busy schedule. Finally transplanted the hostas myself. By then it was apparent that 6 of 14 brunnera were not going to emerge, and one of the spice bushes was very dead. One last email with those concerns. Never heard back from him. Finally, tried to call his office. The outgoing VM message stated that he was no longer with the company. And so the horrific customer experience began...
No one in that company could be bothered to inform an existing customer, with an incomplete project, that her designer no longer worked there? I guess because the work done to date had been paid for, they just didn't care! Friday, 5/13, I reached Danny in the office and explained the situation with the plants. He said he'd check into it. To Danny's credit, he did call me back later that day - told me the new supervisor for that job was Max, and that he'd be calling me first thing Monday morning. By the following Friday, I'd heard from no one, called again, left another VM. Danny called, stating that they had a number of issues with Brendan's clients, and were very busy dealing with all of them. So professional...
Nothing from anyone by 5/27. Left another VM, suggested that I would be willing to accept a refund for the dead and missing plants, if that was simpler for them. Received a voicemail from Danny that he'd previously sent the information on to Max, and that he'd also emailed him with that day's message. Crickets...
6/3: LVM requesting a substantive resolution to the issues, and suggested I might need to contact my credit card company to dispute part of the final charge for breach of contract. 6/7: finally a VM from Max Reiner. Upon callback, I was rudely informed that there was a spice bush in stock to replace the dead one, but he only had 3 brunnera in stock. And anyway, perennials are not covered under warranty - despite Brendan's assurances. ("He never should have told you that!") Conversation concluded with an offer to plant the new spice bush the following day, and a statement that he'd see what he could do about the brunnera. 6/10 @ noon: LVM for update about spice bush... That evening it had been planted, so called Max to thank him (not realizing it was his cell). Asked him to call on Monday re: brunnera.
6/17: called Max re: brunnera. Is he REALLY a VP? Very obnoxious. He's got 425 clients, can't get plant material, can't get parts for his trucks, can't get people to work for him (wonder why?!?), etc. We're out over $200 for plants I can't confirm were ever installed, because they never emerged - and he basically tells me I'm out of luck - they're not under warranty. "If they were on the invoice, they were planted." Also essentially told me he has no interest in doing anything to help because of my attitude. It's been over a month, no one ever reaches out to me proactively, and I'm the one being difficult? Are you kidding me?
Telling everyone I know to never use Oakland! -
Horrible customer service! A couple of the landscape designers came out to our property, barely spent any time looking around, said they'd get back to us and left. After a few weeks of no return call, I tried calling and leaving several messages. I finally talked to someone and they said they would have the designers call me back and I never heard from them. I left no fewer than the half dozen messages with no return call. We were very disappointed because we liked Oakland Nursery but their design Services leave a lot to be desired!

We got a recommendation from our neighbors for Oakland Design Associates when we needed all new landscaping in our front and side yards. Allison Miller was our Landscape Architect and I can't say enough good things about her. Allison listened to our (weak!) vision and turned it into something better than we could have ever imagined. The flow of our yard, the privacy, the textures, the colors, and the different heights were exactly what we wanted and they delivered. Ricardo was our lead landscaper and was the kindest and most attentive to make sure everything was perfect. I can't say enough good things about Allison, Ricardo and the entire Oakland Design Associates team. I would give them 10 stars if I could!!

Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be another public platform that doesn't belong to Oakland to post reviews. Hiring a landscape design to date costs $350 minimum. If you like the design, the plants are not sold to you at a wholesale price. You'd pay retail. The labor 50% more than the price of the plants. So, if a tree cost $200, the labor to install that tree is $100 per tree. This information is calculated from the estimate I was given. I provided an entire list of plants I've collected over years. I know plants, just dont know how to design. If the designer listens to you, you might get a few revisions. Then the designer is also the sales person and manages the site installation. The designer I was assigned called me several times a week to see if I was going to "do it" buy the 8K plan he wrote up for a small residential front yard. These sad reviews for oakland landscape design aren't rants, they are true.

I couldn’t be happier with the transformation of my yard!
Allison Miller’s design was absolutely incredible—creative, thoughtful, and truly elevated the entire outdoor space. From the initial concept to the final touches, Allison and the team demonstrated exceptional professionalism and artistry.
What impressed me most was how well she listened to my ideas and incorporated them seamlessly into the design. Their attention to detail and commitment to delivering a stunning result were evident in every aspect of the project. The customer support was outstanding—clear communication, responsiveness, and genuine care throughout the process.
The finished landscape is breathtaking:
Natural elegance with perfectly placed stone pathways and lush greenery.
Inviting spaces like the cozy hammock nook and the beautiful outdoor fireplace area, ideal for relaxing or entertaining.
Impeccable craftsmanship that blends functionality with aesthetic appeal.
I highly recommend Allison Miller and the entire crew to anyone looking for a landscape design that goes beyond expectations. They turned my dream into reality and created a space I’ll enjoy for years to come. -
We hired them for leaf removal and did a great job! Very fast at replying back and would definitely recommend.
