Very satisfied with the work, all seemed professional and knowledgeable about the work. Only critique would be the time I first called (early July) and when the work was completed (early November). Jeremy did say that if the reseeding didn't take due to the time of year, they would reseed in the spring, so that helps alleviate my one criticism.

Would absolutely recommend Jeremy and his team! Chapman Drainage is affordable and honest. I received many quotes for this job and Jeremy was knowledgeable, honest, and didn't over charge for his services. The work was done quickly and efficiently. Chapman drainage was in high demand at the time our drainage problem was discovered and our work was scheduled 2 months after initially contacting them. While inconvenient, it was not a problem since we were able to divert gutter drainage away from the house until the underground work was completed. On the scheduled day, the Chapman team arrived on time and were courteous and efficient. They did an excellent job and took care around existing landscaping pavers and plants.

Chapman first gave an aerial estimate for having house drain pipes replaced and then gave me an on-site evaluation and estimate. I was hesitant to sign the acceptance of estimate before I met with Chapman on-site and went over everything, but they told me it was not necessary and that they do this type of work frequently. After signing the acceptance of estimate it took some time for scheduling, but once they came out, they did an excellent job. A neighbor across the street had the same type of work done a week before mine was done, but by a different company. Their lawn was ripped up and it was a very invasive process. I thought that’s what I was in for. It could not have been farther from the truth. My group evaluated the situation, figured out the best way to accomplish the best result, and kept me informed. They did the job over 2 days and cleaned everything up. I was so impressed I have thrown out all my other contacts for plumbing work. I was extremely happy with the work done, the price, and the clean-up. I had gotten multiple estimates, some of which were two and a half times what Chapman quoted. Let me start this review by stating clearly that Chapman did the work they were contracted to do and they did it well (by all appearances just two weeks thereafter). We had a slow but steady leak in our basement and were referred to Chapman by a trusted realtor. We spoke with Chapman over the phone and they diagnosed our problem as being related to a clogged drain line. They came to the house, scoped the line and confirmed there was standing water underground and the pipe was wrapped in roots from a front yard tree (our neighborhood is 40 years old so it's likely that in upwards of 75% of the drains in the homes with trees have some root deteriroation in their front yards). Very importantly, they did NOT come indoors to see the leak from the inside. We took their diagnosis at their word and violated the cardinal rule of not getting multiple bids/opinions on a job which is 100% on us. Chapman was quick to schedule the work and get it done in an afternoon while negotiating some inclement weather as well. After the job was completed, the leak was still happening in exactly the same way. When they came to collect the money for the service, they took a look at the inside for the first time and it took them all of about 90 seconds to realize that we had a service line leak outside the basement foundation wall leaking through. Chapman does not do that kind of plumbing repair work. So, did we need to replace our drain line? Maybe, eventually. But definitely not right now. We've never had water in the basement in the 9 years we've lived in our house (details I did mention to them over the phone when we originally chatted) and now all of a sudden we did, and it turns out it clearly wasn't because of the clogged drain line. So now we spent $1200 on a repair that was not immediately necessary while we absolutely have to spend another $3500 to repair the service line asap. So again, the ultimate moral of the story is always, always, always get multiple quotes unless it's an absolute emergency. I also hope Chapman reflects on what they could have done differently as they clearly suffered from their own confirmation bias in misdiagnosing the source of our basement leak. They were also quick to talk poorly of and warn us from "Basement Doctor-type" businesses from which I considered getting a quote and while possibly warranted, upon further reflection this is also a potential red flag against any aspiring contractor. A credible contractor should be able to promote their own work on its own merits rather than denigrating the work of others. In our case, they clearly didn't identify our problem correctly themselves but they did get a job. Live and learn everybody.
