What North Royalton customers say about local pros

Technician (Jonathan) was friendly and thorough. Went right to work and kept us notified of every step. Good experience and reasonable price.

I called Sal’s for furnace service last week after another company fell through. They were great! They came within a week, called with their arrival time about 40 minutes before they got here, and were efficient in cleaning and servicing my furnace. I also got to see pictures of how it’s looking, and there was no credit card fee. And the tech wore shoe covers, which I always really appreciate.

I contacted Sals to have a toilet reset due to leaking at the floor along with a plugged kitchen drain. I was ASSURED that the tech coming would complete the repairs the same day and that their trucks were fully stocked. After taking the day off work and waiting around until 3pm and 2 calls back to Sals the tech finally arrived. I walked him thru the job and he went back to his truck to provide me with the estimate. When he returned I expected him to start the approved work. He then tells me that I will have to call Sals to have the repairs scheduled for a later date. I found this totally unacceptable and he left. The next day I get a call from a Sals rep asking if I was happy with the repairs. WHAT REPAIRS, HE DID NOTHING, AND DON'T EVEN THINK OF SENDING ME A BILL. If this is the way they do business I recommend you go elsewhere.

The technicians consistently deliver excellent work once they arrive on-site—professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. However, the scheduling and dispatch process leaves much to be desired. Timeliness and communication are significant challenges, as it is often difficult to receive accurate scheduling information or updates. When requesting a general time frame to plan around the service visit, the only response provided is typically that the technician will call 30–40 minutes prior to arrival. If not for the outstanding performance and professionalism of the field technicians, I would strongly consider taking my business elsewhere.

The technician, Jonathan McNeal, is the reason I'm giving 4 stars. He was wonderful! Efficient, knowledgeable & thorough. He explained everything he did and the results of the maintenance. I would have given a 5 star, but the day started with a call from Sal's saying they would not be able to come for my scheduled appointment, sighting there were clients without heat. I explained, I had not turned my furnace on yet & was waiting for them to inspect it. Also, because they couldn't schedule an evening or weekend or give me an estimated time- even morning or afternoon- I had to take an entire day off of work. Now they wanted to reschedule the appointment. Unacceptable! I told them, all of that and that I expected someone to be here as promised. I am thankful they did have someone come out by late afternoon. Jonathan gets a 5 star, over all 4 due to the scheduling debacle & having to wait all day for the service call.

Sal's Heating and cooling has been doing my yearly maintenance now for two years for my AC and furnace and they have done a wonderful job. My furnace needed replaced this year and mike was very helpful in putting together quotes with varying options and price ranges. He was not pushy on trying to sell or up sell me and just laid out the options. I will definitely keep my sal's in mind when asked for recommendations.

I recently had to get a new heater installed. Houston, the sales rep, sold me on a heater that I would be able to register with the gas company b/c of it being energy efficient. They would also issue a check at the end of the year with the savings. Houston said he has the exact heater and has received a check from the gas company. Installers came and I made sure to ask for the serial number so I could register the heater. I called the gas company and they have no idea of what I am talking about. I called Sal’s about this and was told a manager would call be back. They have not called yet. I feel ripped off and scammed by Houston.

My old furnace died during the recent cold snap. Sal's tech Zachary was onsite within 4 hours to assess the situation. Within a day after that, installation of the new furnace and A/C had begun. The crew, Cyrus and Perry, were polite, respectful of the property, and did a great job on the install.

The technician was pushy, tried to make me do a 6k furnace replacement then and there on the spot. He did not want me calling others for quotes. I call another company, they fix my issue quickly for 100 bucks. To be fair, the furnace will probably need a replacement in the next 5 years, but I didn’t need to be pushed for today. I don’t think this company is bad, but the specific technician clearly trying to get a commission score on me. EDIT AFTER THEY RESPONDED: I do not doubt their technical assessment. I know my furnace will need replaced soon. It's just a red flag when the technician is trying his hardest to convince me to not get a second opinion/second quote. It's very normal practice to get multiple quotes. So unfortunately when I do replace my furnace, it will be with another company.
