They took a tree down at the end of my street, they showed up right after a 2 hour downpour of rain and left a huge rut in my front yard and refuse to repair it, if you don’t regret their work your neighbors will

We are the adjacent neighbors of property owners on Sand Road in Port Clinton, OH who hired Lake Erie Tree Services to take down 2 large trees in their yard. The lot is very narrow and they asked if they could use our driveway and cross over to their yard to make it easier. Being neighborly, we agreed and actually tamped down a path for them. When they arrived, the lead guy clearly had a bad attitude when we told him to respect the property and leave it as he found it. When we came home that evening, the trees were gone, but there were ruts in most of our front and side lawn, branches on the roof and patio, broken wood planks that covered our front yard drain (large truck wheel tracks were there), wood chips all over our roof, a quarter of our flower bed in the front yard smashed, they ran over our straw bales near the driveway, and basically drove all over the front yard to conduct their business. It is completely unacceptable that they had such disregard for neighbor's property when we were gracious enough to allow them access. The neighbors on the other side also said that they accessed her water spigot without notice or permission! I will NEVER use this company or recommend them due to their disregard for property!

Lack of communication about scheduling, didn't grind stump all the way leaving hazard, have to physically go to office to get any attention. Asked for wood to be left and took all the good wood and left me with rotted, knotted wood, and a 3 ton piece we couldn't handle. Didn't ask about property and damaged electric dog fence

They were supposed to notify when they came but they didn't. When they came it was raining and their machines totally destroyed my side yard and back yard. it was all water and mud. It was a disaster. see picture
I would not use this service again

Lake Erie Tree Service removed a tree and then ground out a stump last summer. They failed to protect the AC units 10 feet away during the grinding of the stump. Chips flew and one permeated the condenser creating a hole in the unit. The repair cost $1600 and we were without AC for several weeks while parts were ordered. The owners of Lake Erie Tree Service refused to accept responsibility for the damage or negotiate a settlement. They said they would discuss and get back to us then never responded again. We will not use them again and I do not recommend them.

I did not hire Lake Erie Tree service, but I found them on my property one day cutting down a 50ft cottonwood tree that has been on the property for several decades before I owned it. As I only have 2 trees, I am upset that they did not verify the address on the marker at the end of the driveway and started cutting my tree instead of the tree on the OPPOSITE side of the street and 300 yards south. I have called 3 times to speak to the owners because they cut several large limbs before I showed up by happenstance to check on the contractor I had on-site for my project. My tree is now bare 20 feet up on the southwest side but I cannot get any response for this screw up. If I would not have stopped at my house that afternoon, my tree would have been completely gone the next time I did show up. I do not recommend this business as they will not own up to, nor compensate me for their mistake. This is not OK!

I received a quote on a Saturday, I felt the individual was accommodating coming out on a weekend, we discussed the work and other work that this quote was in service too. He left the unsigned proposal and left. Within a couple of days, I received a direct call from Straightline Fence Company, someone I had not contacted for a quote, asking if I was interested in a quote. I had not authorized anyone from Lake Erie Tree to share my contact information, including my personal cell phone. I tried to contact the staff, asking for someone from management or an owner, but did not receive a return call. I would be wary of using this company, as they do not seem to value anyone's personal data.

Spoke with them over the phone over 3 months ago. They told me they would have someone out. I still have not been contacted if they are still coming.
