So far this company has been “Johnny on the spot” and their efforts to get my restoration project started admid the COVID-19 pandemic is simply an amazing thing to witness if you ask me! If their rapid response to the initial bid process is any indicator what their continued response efforts will be to fix what is damaged in my rental property here in Toledo Ohio, then I will be a very satisfied customer indeed once the project is finished!

So we had them come give us a qoute and we decided not to use them after a few red flags and now they are trying to charge us $6,000 "fee" for that quote since we didn't use them be very careful and don't sign anything because even though they said they wouldn't charge us anything it was a liability for them talking to my insurance agent which I still had to handle it all in the end since we went with another company they really just want to steal your money.

Great workers but the office side is a joke. Very irresponsible with dealing with the insurance company. work has been done on the house for 6 months and still getting calls from my insurance company because they have not submitted alot of the paperwork to my insurance company.

Great job! Dan found hidden damage overlooked by insurance adjuster and worked with insurance company to secure additional funding needed to cover the job. Wallboard and wallpaper work was completed by true craftsmen. They were also very flexible in working with a couple of last minute scheduling changes arising from medical appointments.

if you want to experience true hell on earth then by all means go with this outfit. I felt more victimized by this organization then by the actual fire in my apartment. I really don't know where to begin. but here is a taste of what you are in for. First off they let my items sit in a burned out, wet, mildew saturated apartment a full six weeks before retrieving all of my items. Therefore, items that could have been salvaged were no longer salvageable. Because of a complete lack of communication on their part and the fact that they were very slow in getting any of my items back to me in a timely fashion I filed a complaint with the BBB. Instead of trying to resolve the issue thru the BBB the owner was so irate that I filed a complaint against him he told me to take my business elsewhere unless I was willing to rescind my complaint. This is of course impossible to do so I was force to use another company. Further, this company never gave me an estimate for the work they were going to do. They just handed me a bill for 6,000. Later I found out they went against industry standards and placed my items in a deodorizing chamber prior to cleaning. This was at a cost of 2,000. Why they did this I will never know. You can draw your own conclusions there. Finally, items that were returned were actually ruined after their "restoration" process. A TOTAL NIGHTMARE

J and R was very easy to work wit. Staff was helpful and promptly returned my calls. They fixed damage to roof,etc. caused by a tree. Work was delayed by covid but they sealed everything so no more damage was done.They did a great job, even doing some things to help me that they didnt have to do!

They were there when we needed them: mitigation, emergency repairs, and restoration. They were always in communication with us and managed the project well. We would use them again.

If i could give them 0 stars I would. J&R has been stringing my 83 year old Grandmother along and frankly taking advantage of her without fixing the issue. I will not say what exactly because of the other reviews saying the jerk of a owner will refuse service if there is a complaint. I would NEVER recommend this company to ANYONE, not even my worst enemy. I am disgusted with how they have treated my Grandma and if they don’t fix her issue soon I WILL go to the BBB and Channel 13. I just wonder how they would feel if someone treated their family member the way they have treated mine. Because let me tell you I am irate.

Jerilyn and her team of skilled project directors, managers and technicians are top notch. I would highly recommend them to my friends and family!

Cost WAY too much for a simple drywall replacement. Insurance gouging, maybe? And when they were done, several outlets didn't work. I told the office lady, but nothing was done about it.
2 stars instead of one because they did a good job blending the texture.
Still, Would not recommend due to price gouging.

J&R did an amazing job clearing our home & disposing the mess from the damaged rooms due to a severe water leak within a day.. Their professional carpenters, flooring and painting personnel did an excellent job in restoring the rooms in our home. I would highly recommend J&R Contracting.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! FIND SOMEONE ELSE! Came and dried out the room. Set up a day to fix walls and floors and spray for mold and mildew. We were called on a Thursday to set up a time, which was Monday at 7:30 am. Called to confirm of Friday, since we were taking everything out the night before and needed to set up a plumber to come in and reset everything up. Yes they will be out. Monday morning at 7:28 am the contractor calls to inform us that all his employees are sick, however they could come out Friday to do the construction. OH YES 5 DAYS WITHOUT WATER. GOOD IDEA. And how is everyone sick. Drew was called and said he would be right out. At 11:30 when we called him to see where he was and he proceeded to yell at me for being upset with his contractor. He said he was about to leave, 4 hours later. We ended up having to do all the work ourselves and pay a plumber to do nothing and then reschedule a plumber to put everything back together when we finished. All contact with this company after this was met with no help. We receive bills, however when asked for an itemized bill none was ever sent. The bill is over $2000.00. We received and estimate at the beginning and for what they actually did it should have been far less than this. They were NEVER concerned about my family having to live in a hotel for 3 days, or me having to miss 3 days of work, or me having to do the work myself. Never offered any solutions or help! Run away fast. The water line broke in February and it took til the middle of March for them to try and fix the room (which they never did)!

J and R did a great job taking care of repairs to my garage after a tree fell on it. Response time after initial call was within hours and they took the time to answer all my questions and walk my through the insurance claim process and repair timetable. They took care of everything in a timely manner and didn’t overpromise or under deliver.

Situations where you need a disaster repair specialist are generally stressful and confusing so it’s great when you can find someone who knows what they’re doing!

J&R came to clean out my grandparents barn. It was a job no one would touch, but J&R was ready. They came prepared to throw away all kinds of stuff and cleaned years of accumulated filth. In addition to being prepared for this job, they were professional and organized. I felt good about the job they did. I hope never to need them in a disaster, but if I do, I am confident in the result.

Blusky Restoration was the worst company imaginable for fire restoration to our home. They did not complete any of the work promised and they billed our insurance company for work they didn't even perform. They took a terrible situation and made it so much harder and sadder and made us feel dumb and taken advantage of. We had to fire them and start all over. Stay away from restoration companies especially Blusky.

I am so happy with the work J & R did after our house fire last summer. The crew was always punctual, friendly, and had the expertise to get the job done. In the unfortunate event of a fire, J & R will surpass your expectations. Thank you!

Don’t use them if you need something fixed quickly. Called to ask for help with mold in our attic and was told they would call in a week to set up a time for someone to come out and look. A week passes and no one calls. I follow up next day and get apologies for being “missed” and we get something set up for the following week. A guy comes out, shares some info and says he will have the information to us sent soon. Another week passes without any info so I follow up and get told to wait 7-10 business days. I respected that and patiently waited. 11 days passed including a holiday and still nothing. No call, no text, no email regarding an estimate for our mold issue that I essentially tried to get going on a month ago. If this is how the service just to get an estimate is, I’m afraid to know what it will be like getting the actual work done. Thankfully have since moved on to a new company who got the ball rolling on everything in 1 day. Was a shame as they seemed so nice but very misleading to waste a whole month for no service.

I can't say enough about J &R Contracting. They have been great to work with. They were out at my home within an hour of the call placed to them with a crew to start cleaning up the water in my basement and removing contents. Ever single person that I have interacted with is personable, professional and thorough. I do not hand out praises easily and I'm telling you this company is top notch.

I'm very happy I called Blue Sky, they were able to get to my house right away. Helped to make my situation a little less stressful! I would recommend them to anyone!

I met Mike the owner 13 years or so back when I was a disaster restoration professional myself in my previous career before he owned J & R. Even back then you could tell he had a passion to serve people. The initial phone call was great and they happened to dispatch the call directly to Mike. He very quickly called me and immediately asked me what I needed and got the process rolling. You can tell Mike's passion to serve others has rubbed off on his staff and it has become the company culture because I had a wonderful experience with every person I dealt with at J & R. My insurance adjuster even mentioned how easy J & R made the claim process go smoothly for that side of things as well. Having been on the disaster restoration side of things, I had some high expectations but the whole staff exceeded those. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to family and friends or use them again if the need arises.
