I hired House Doctors to replace a very large 6x6x15' porch column.

    The process went smoothly.
Robert did a fantastic job of removing the old rotted post, and the old poorly set concrete, pouring new concrete footing, installing a post base and then raising and securing the new column.

They took the time to get things done right at every stage, used quality materials, and communicated the plan clearly.

I am very satisfied with the final outcome, communication and professionalism.

House Doctors did a great job recently installing a few awnings on my property. Logan was quick to provide a fair estimate and they were able to install ahead of the holiday. Peter (on-site tech) kept me informed and provided pictures thereafter. I look forward to using House Doctors in the near future. Highly recommended.

I used House Doctors to paint the exterior trim and stucco on our home. They provided a timely, accurate quote that was very reasonable. They did the work on schedule, checked in daily to give a progress update, and cleaned up the site thoroughly upon completion. They communicated promptly and professionally throughout the quote, scheduling, and work. I highly recommend them!

The crew was very friendly and professional. They respected my property. If they saw a problem the corrected. Would definitely recommend them. I was having woodpecker problems and they applied new trim to deter the woodpecker and it is working.

A person came to my house, gave me an estimate on work to be done. 7+ days went by and still haven't received the quote. One of those issues to be repaired was an old supply valve to a washing machine. That valve failed today and I had to call an emergency plumber.

If you want these folks to do something for you, I hope you can wait a while.

We were struggling to get this repair done in time for a closing. We had a contractor disappear on us. We then called House Doctors called and they came right out and had it done and finished in 2 days. This was when no one else seemed to be able to find and get this siding right away. Great value as well. Highly recommend.

"House Doctor: A Prescription for Disappointment."
I initially hired House Doctor for a gate installation in December 2024, which was completed satisfactorily. Encouraged by that experience, I engaged them again in January 2025 for a patio door replacement. I specifically requested an experienced technician and scheduled the installation for mid-March, expecting the reliable service promised on their website.

According to their website, House Doctor asserts: > "But no matter how big or small the project is, we can do it for you. We have many clients who have a checklist of jobs that need to be done, and our handyman technicians are happy to help check off the boxes. When you schedule a House Doctors handyman to visit your home, they arrive on time and complete the job with promptness and precision. We won’t waste your time."

Unfortunately, my experience starkly contrasted with these claims. Delays began with a technician’s health issue, which I was sympathetic to and completely understood. Then the adverse weather conditions, which again was understandable. However, we finally made it to the day of install!! A different technician arrived who merely came to confirm measurements. Within minutes, I was informed that they had ordered the right door, but received the wrong one—initially described as a standard 72" unit that was later said to require a custom order. The explanations were confusing and left me without clarity. Furthermore, service technicians and the owner had an entire month to confirm if they had the correct sized door and elected not to do so.

After nearly a week of waiting for a follow-up, I was abruptly informed that the owner intended to “wash his hands of it” and would refund our deposit. This sudden cancellation has forced me to reach out to other vendors—an especially difficult situation given that new tariffs on lumber and building materials have significantly increased project costs. Furthermore, with it being the height of home repair season, our project will likely only be scheduled for late summer, causing additional delays and expense.

Based on this experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend House Doctor for projects that require clear communication, reliability, and follow-through.

I didn’t think I was hiring a new guy who didn’t know what he was doing. I thought I was hiring professionals.

I hired House Doctors to install a shower kit that I purchased from Lowe’s. The installer had trouble fitting and leveling the pieces so he decided to cut the shower walls after he installed them. This was left jagged and unsightly and also damaged the metal frame to the shower door in the process. This was supposed to be completed in one day but he said he’d have to come back to finish. As he left things for the day, the shower walls were not level and everything was left a big mess. I called and had a supervisor come take a look and he agreed that the installation was not satisfactory.

They claimed that this was a new guy and they wanted to make it right. The supervisor came back and attempted to level the walls but the issue remained of the unfinished jagged cut edges.

I asked them to order replacement parts from the manufacturer or reimburse me for my materials. This took weeks and several communications. When I finally got all the replacement parts needed to fix everything two months later, I hired someone else to install it properly. (Which he did in 6 hours.)

MUST be really really busy. Reached them in late June and they scheduled me for an estimate on July 19. Came out promptly on the 19th and told me he would send me the estimate on the 27th. Still don’t have the estimate. James seems nice, but I can’t speak to his quality of work. Probably just should have told me in June they didn’t have time. Yes, I checked my spam filter every couple of days through the end of July. No, I did not call and beg for the estimate.
