Roofing review

Attention all homeowners or business owners who are looking to have their roofs replaced. This is a review for Franciscus Roofing Company. I strongly recommend not using this company. They’re work and craftsmanship is subpar. They’re service is also subpar.
I bought a home in Florida, fall of 2019, which had to have a new tile roof installed before closing. The seller used Franciscus Roofing Company. The roof came with a guarantee which transferred to me once sale was complete. The following is my experience with this company.
1. They left roofing nails and debris around the home exterior which filled an entire 50 gallon contractor bag. I know because I cleaned it up.
2. Within the first year we had a leak that went into the garage. May 2020. I called the company and after some time a representative came out and located the leak from the roof. They said they fixed the leak. I replaced the drywall and repainted. The next rain showed the leak was never fixed. They never water tested their work. I called back and after a week another rep came to the house. They said they got it this time. I waited to re drywall and finish which was a good thing as it still leaked. It took 4 times before they fix it.
3. This past January, 2024 the next leak started. Directly over our front bedroom. I called the company on a Wednesday as water was pouring in from a rain. No one returned my call and when the next rain came on Friday I contracted another company to begin work to stop water coming into the house. Since the roof was still under warranty I called Franciscus again and finally a rep came to the house. He said he will fix the roof and not to worry. I told my new contractor that he can do the drywall repairs and roof stucco repairs but Fransiscus will be doing the roof work. My contractor agreed and called off his roofer. Fransiscus sent one man to fix the roof. He worked for a few hours and left. The rep came by the next day and water tested the work. It failed. He said he will be back the next day and fix it. He never showed up. Rain again more water. I called and got no response. I remembered the previous experience so I hired my contractor’s roofer and fired Fransicus off the job site. The new roofer sent a crew of 4 men and worked 8 hours to properly fix the roof. 2 hours were dedicated to redoing Franciscus’s work. Once they finished and water tested, the roof was perfect. They water tested again in the morning and all good. I was able to put the room back together.
4. I called the company and asked to speak to the owner. I was contacted by an agent, Tom, whom I explained exactly how Franciscus handled the job so poorly. I asked him for compensation for the roof fix only. Not waterproofing exterior wall, roof stucco, drywall, paint or carpet. Just the roofing bill as I thought since they couldn’t actually fix the roof then they would make good on the roofing work. Tom told me he would talk to the owner Lee Franciscus. I didn’t hear from Franciscus so I called in again and that’s when the owner Lee told me they fired Tom. So I explained to Lee what his company did he apologized and said he would look into it. I sent him the bill as well as pictures of his company’s work and the new finished roof. No response, nothing from this company for over 3 months. I realize that they don’t plan on making good on their subpar work. Disappointing.
5. I have yet another leak from roof. This time I just got my roofer to fix it. I have pictures of the work which once again is unbelievably poor.

6. I’m telling this story so hopefully no one else gets screwed by this company. Basically buyer beware.

Albert Hobar from Franciscus Roofing came to our house to check on our roof. He was very nice and easy to talk to and answered all our questions. He not only checked on the leaks, but did some things to help the situation until we can get them fixed. We really appreciated his kindness and his extra efforts to help us.

My experience with Franciscus Roofing was outstanding! With the help from Logan Godfrey and Steve and his crew. They were courteous, responsive and very professional. Logan followed up with me to make sure the work was done to my satisfaction.
My neighbors have commented on how well the crew cleaned up after the roof was installed and one is thinking of having Franciscus Roofing doing their roof too!

We couldn’t be happier with our new roof! Pat was great to work with! He was knowledgeable and honest. They even made sure to schedule while we were out of town , that was a life saver because the dog was with us! Great experience!

We were sure that we needed a new roof when Albert Hobar came out to inspect a small leak in a bathroom. It turned out to be the rubber seal in a pipe had deteriorated, which he sealed with a compound he said was bullet proof. Our roof and shingles are in good shape after he inspected the whole thing. We greatly appreciate his honesty as he could have sold us a roof as many shady dealers would have done. And he did not even charge us for the sealant he put on the pipe. AMAZING!!! I highly recommend this company be your first call when you have an issue. Trust worthy and honest, for sure.

They tore off partial roof to remove and replace 2 skylights.They explained everything. They were fast & efficient, and did a great job cleaning up. I would recommend them to friends and family.

If you are nervous at all about getting a new roof, then I highly recommend using Franciscus Roofing. Logan laid out exactly my options were, how confident he was in getting my insurance to cover it, and how the work would proceed. He made the entire process stress free. Having confidence in knowing you are getting value for your money was just as valuable as the actual competitive pricing they offered. The quality of the actual work and the cleanup was also top notch. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Albert Hobar was the best project manager I could've asked for with Franciscus Roofing. Albert was very thorough and went over step by step with what the project would entail. He also informed me of their financing option which was huge because that was something I did need and I couldnt pass up what their terms were. The day my roof was done, the crew arrived at 8am. And were out by 3:15. Hardest group of workers I've ever seen and very professional. Their clean up job was impecable, couldn't even tell they were there. Albert contacted me after the job was done to make sure everything was ok and I was completely satisfied...I 100% was a happy customer!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Albert Hobar and Franciscus for any roofing job you may need!! You WON'T be disappointed!!

I just had my roof replaced with Franciscus and I am very pleased! Logan Godfrey was my main point of contact and he not only walked me through every step without any pressure, but even checked on me on one of the work days to ensure I was doing well with the pounding overhead! All the workers were exceedingly polite and went out of their way to ensure I was not inconvenienced. And my roof looks BEAUTIFUL!! I highly recommend them!

We have been working with Albert , Franciscus Roofing for years. He has always responded quickly when we call and found the problem. He is always courteous, and knows what he is doing .
We have never had a problem with any job so I can't tell you how they respond to complaints - we haven't had any! Wish we could say that about all the contractors we have worked with!

Albert Hobar and his team transformed the appearance of our roof, provided professional workmanship from start to finish, completed the work and paid attention to details, which included picking up scraps, nails, and debris. Albert is an exceptional team leader, superb communicator, and individual whose high standards are most impressive. Clearly, Franciscus is fortunate to have the caliber of expertise/talent that Albert brings to his work. His immediate response to our roof catastrophe following the August 6 wind damage meant that our roof would have temporary repairs until the permanent work would be done.
The Fransiscus sign is on our property to promote your company as we are on a main thoroughfare and pedestrians stop to compliment the workmanship and reflect on the team effort which they observed during the lengthy repair.

So glad we called Franciscus Roofing for our new roof project. We got in contact with the excellent Sean, whose friendly and professional service, made sure we were perfectly happy from start to finish. Highly recommend 👌

I was referred to Franciscus Roofing by my realtor. (The inspection of the home we were purchasing showed some raised nails and suggested we have a roof tune up.) Albert from Franciscus Roofing came to look at the roof. He was prompt, courteous and very professional. We went up on the roof, assessed the situation and immediately took care of our issue. I can not recommend this company enough!! Being totally clueless about roofing, especially when I can see only part of our roof from the ground, a dishonest company could have charged me an arm and a leg. Instead FRANCISCUS ROOFING was honest, efficient ,very professional & trustworthy. When my roof needs to be replaced, this is the company I will call. I highly recommend you contact them for your roofing needs.

I called to ask for an estimate for an investment property I’m considering buying, and the woman who answered the phone was extremely rude. She practically told me she couldn’t even talk to me since I don’t currently own the house and didn't let me talk to explain. As someone who regularly buys and renovates properties, I always request quotes beforehand to budget before making offers. I wasn’t looking to hire services immediately, just asking if they handle asbestos shingle roof replacement, since that’s an unfamiliar area for me and I’m trying to identify qualified vendors in advance. Other companies I called were happy to provide guidance and discuss the work, but this experience was the opposite. I strongly suggest improving customer service and phone training. I saw the previous reviews and I called because it seemed a reliable vendor. Sad there is a big wall to get the services.
Update to the reply: No worries. I found already 2 companies happy to work with me, and we are moving forward with the property. Maybe you did not understand the request. Nothing illegal, or complex to do, just another business you could have had.

I chose Franciscus to do our roof because, as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Their quote was a touch higher than a few other estimates I had gotten, but there was an obvious difference in material quality and workmanship that edged out competitors and made me confident they were the right choice. Sean Van Dyke is mentioned in several reviews for this company and for good reason. Pretty sure Integrity is his middle name. He was very patient and easy to communicate with when addressing any questions or concerns I had. (Wanting to delay due to weather, nail cleanup, and a small hiccup with our gutter install, all handled with respect and professionalism.) If he's your project manager, you're in good hands. Our roof looks so beautiful!! We had our soffits and gutters replaced as well and it all looks so good! I would recommend Franciscus in a heartbeat to anyone looking to have work done.

We were referred to Al Hobar to repair our flashing. He promptly called us back and was able to perform the repairs the next day for a reasonable price. We highly recommend Franciscus Roofing.

This is the second roof I have had replaced with Fransiscus and again I am very pleased. Albert did a wonderful job scoping, quoting, and ensuring the job was completed to my satisfaction. They worked very hard to complete my roof in one day, the workers did a great job. They were considerate of my landscaping, as well as my neighbor's landscaping and resolved any issues that arose during the work to my satisfaction. I recommend Fransiscus, they are dependable and trustworthy and do great work!

I had a great experience with getting Franciscus to put a new roof on my home. The project manager, Logan Godfrey, was very kind, knowledgeable, and responsive to all my questions. In fact, Logan’s quick responses were the main reason we went with Franciscus over a competitor. I was considering another roofing company who could get the same job done for a similar price, but I had a difficult time getting them to return my calls when I had questions.

When the roofing team came to my home, they were very kind and respectful. I greeted them in the morning, and we left each other alone for most of the day so they could get their work done. They made sure my wife and kids could pass by safely when they needed to leave the house.

Overall, I had a great experience working with Franciscus for my new roof, and I would gladly call them first for any future work on my home.

Signed a contract for siding replacement on 9/11/24 after an insurance claim. We were told that they might not get to us until the spring, which was fine. I had to keep contacting them to ask about installation. We were told early May and then the first week of August. Its now the end of October and I haven't heard a word. They might be great and fast for roof replacement but the focus isn't on their siding clients. Look elsewhere for siding.

I want to thank Franciscus Roofing for a job well done. Al Hobar and his crew that installed my roof did a fantastic job and his constant communication with me and my wife during the process was top notch. The crew he had was very professional at what they had to do and cleanup was so good you never knew they were here. So very pleased with your company and glad I had you do my work. Thanks so much. I will recommend Franciscus Roofing to everyone I know that is in need of roof repair or replacement.

Full tear off and replacement Mar 2024. Great communication from acct rep Al, as we scheduled around spring rains. The project was completed in one day, with very good cleanup. The team was friendly, placed great attention to detail, took pride in their workmanship. I'm the first in my neighborhood for a new roof and I will be recommending Franciscus to others.
