I was charged $785 to replace a Delta 1400 shower valve/cartridge that cost just over $100 in parts and took about 45 minutes to complete.
That pricing feels extremely excessive for the amount of labor involved. There was no emergency service, and the job itself was straightforward.
I understand companies have overhead and pricing structures, but this charge was far outside what most plumbers quote for similar work. I would strongly recommend getting multiple estimates before using this company.
