Sears Home Services is an absolute waste of money and time. We first called in July. Appointment #1 in August. You have to take the entire day off work as they only book 9-5. Appointment #1 - tech (Tech A) arrives and says we need a specific part. Orders part and sets appointment #2. At appointment #2, a different tech (Tech B) arrives, says we need a different (much more expensive part), orders new part, and sets appointment #3. At appointment #3, Tech B installs the new part but has trouble getting the oven to work consistently. Tells us we have 30 days to get it repaired again if it stops working (again he couldn't get it working consistently) and leaves. Oven never works properly. We call to schedule appointment #4. Tech A arrives again at appointment #4, says, no you need the original part he had ordered. We ask about a refund on the more expensive part. He says, "no" because it was installed - even though apparently we didn't need it nor did it work. He orders the original part again. He tells us he is going to leave to head to another appointment and then come back and check the oven again after switching something in the back of the oven. He never returns. We get a text later that he has scheduled an appointment (#5) for us, of course on a day that does not work. I reschedule for appointment #5. Part arrives. Day of appointment #5 arrives - I have taken off work - AGAIN. Get the confirmation text for the appointment like normal and wait, and wait, and wait. There is no one to call except a generic number that just confirms you have an appointment. There is no way to get to a human on the chat - just an AI bot. I eventually got through to someone in their call center (at this point it's 4:45PM) and am told a supervisor will call me back. I confirm that I will get a call that evening. They never call. The next day I get a text from Sears Home Services AI Bot asking me to reschedule my appointment because yesterday the part hadn't arrived but now it shows that it has. I have had the part for almost a month. We reschedule but because we have to take off work AGAIN - this is now 6 FULL DAYS OFF WORK.
Sears Home Services is an absolute joke and the least responsive service company I have ever worked with in my entire life. With what we have paid in parts (two, one that was not needed), a diagnostic fee, and time off work we could have purchased a brand new oven and had it installed. After this process is complete we will never, ever use Sears Home Services again for a repair. It is honestly just not worth it. -

Zero stars. 1. Nice tech but did nothing. Perhaps missing some critical thinking skills. Our AC system was frozen. We turned it off, it had thawed by the time your tech arrived. He turned it back on, it blew cold air for a few min, took his money and he left. 10 min later lines and coil frozen again. We have no way to contact you due to it being scheduled thru a warranty company. I called your company and I got the run around you customer service hung up on me twice. TWICE!!! It is 90 degrees & your company could care less about the rest of us. Now the tech should have understood the lines were frozen in 90 degree weather SOMETHING IS OBVIOUSLY WRONG and done some more digging. And now won’t come come out for a week!!! Horrid service
