I had the privilege to work with TCP Commercial Contractors a couple years ago. Mr. Plaud was both well Experienced and Professional and would recommend his skills and services to a construction project anywhere.

Beware!!! Carlos Plaud has taken advantage of countless people including myself. He will take your deposit that he asks for upfront and will not finish the job. To try and get your money back you will have to take him to small claims but you will find out that he has no assets and in huge debt. There are plenty of honest contractors out there that won't take your hard earned money. There is a customer George Alexander/Kakoma that also left a review. I'm sure that you recognize his name since you took $30k from him and did not finish the job. Also, I have a pic of the court docs ruling in my favor for when I sued you. I'll try and post it so you can see it!

This guy (Carlos Plaud) is a crook and a Felon. He told me he was licensed and bonded. I found out later he was not. One of his workers told me he was homeless and asked if he could take a shower in my house. I was a single mother at the time if that gives you an idea of what my response was. After I confronted him he walked out and would not give me my deposit back. On top of that I had to pay a real contractor to fix the work he did do. The "good 5 star reviews" are probably fake and made up by Carlos. Stay clear.

We needed a bathroom built in a hurry. Carlos came out the same day I called. He had supplies delivered that day and workers here the next. They worked fast and cleaned up after themselves. Any problem or concern I had he took care of immediately. He took care of the city permits and I’m very pleased with the work.

I have known Carlos since he was a teenager I began working with him in 2018. I was the project manager for TCP at the time but I did not have the heart or the stomach for his way of scamming people so I confronted him in front of a family he was about to scam and he abruptly left the premises threatening to sue myself and the contractors that stayed to finish the work with me then and still to this day. The contractors and I got together and finished the remodel without problems and without Carlos. The couple paid us and praised us and sadly the lady who was our biggest supporter died not long after we completed her remodel dream. Carlos has a very detailed scam. He ask the homeowner to put up half the cost of the remodel upon you agreeing with this he points out that your materials will be bought and put on site and if lightning were to strike him dead, you will still have all your materials to finish your remodel, yep I know it sounds familiar. He then will buy the bulky less expensive stuff and as room becomes an issue he will say, I will get your other things later because my guys are running out of room to work. Meanwhile your supposed material money is going up his nose and that is the beginning of the hustle for projects to pay for your project. Best advice, before you invest thousands of dollars and in some cases life savings into your project put a few bucks aside for a drug test, of your choosing for your Contractor, what honest person wouldn't agree if they want your business?

We purchased a home for our son. He and his friends trashed it. Carlos and his crew put it back together for us, and did a fine job. We sold it for $.8000 more than our asking price because of Carlos' work quality.
