Richardson Nursery is primarily a wholesale grower. Might be a pain to do business with if you are only looking for a few plants. But great prices if you want to make a large buy.

My wife and I have been struggling with just finding out that Portland requires us to replace a diseased nuisance tree we had to remove early this year. (All properly permitted, but we hadn’t seen the permit as the tree service deals with the city directly.)

Long story short, it has been a challenge with lots of time spent on the phone and trying to find the tree specified, etc, etc.., until today! We drove in, explained the situation and were delighted to leave with everything resolved. 😊

The owner was friendly, kind, patient, and knowledgeable. So much so that as we drove away, my wife said ““Are there NURSERY ANGELS?? ‘Cause I think we just met one!!”

New owner does nothing but make excuses and was a massive tool. High quote and no response or follow-up. Too busy elsewhere we guess, but the tide is turning and soon you will be begging for work.

Stay away from this company. New owner has no conscience.
Very expensive sprinkler systems installed and never worked properly. Lost plants and trees. New owner who installed irrigation will not respond to any calls. 3 homes in this neighborhood as well as a commercial account and no response. No accountability for their work after getting paid.

I called Russ and got an immediate return call. He came out, listened to my design request and gave me an incredibly reasonable bid. During execution a few of my desires changed and he was accommodating and fair and completed the project in two days in a timely way. I would return to this company again as it is trustworthy and his guys have been with him for years.

We wish to commend Mountain View Landscapes for the work they recently performed for us. Ours was a residential job and likely small-scale compared to many of their contracts. We wanted an existing lawn removed, new sod installed, an irrigation system, excavation to level some ground and a retaining wall. Russ arrived with an experienced crew who quickly gained an understanding of what we wanted. The excavation required a bit more work and required more time than originally planned but they saw the job through to completion which made us feel like we were as important to them as are their larger customers. They provided us what we wanted and with excellent results. Further they offered to follow up with us at any time should we have questions or issues. We would definitely hire them again.

Be forewarned: It is necessary to request service well in advance to get on their schedule. Apparently this company is in high demand and we now recognize why that is so.

Edit 5/2021 - Another amazing job by these guys!! Third project within 2 years and I will still say I will not use anyone else. Another five star job. The side yard just could not handle the amount of traffic and lack of sun. We wanted some east to maintain and pretty. Now we have a beautiful walk way that keeps the mud down, and doubles as a level corn hole area! Tim and his guys are amazing, fast, and very reasonable on price. They have gone above and beyond every time. Before and after photos posted. Along with my considerably less muddy fur kids.

Edit: 9/25/2020 - We just had these guys out for a second project and if I could give more stars I would. They are an amazing group who go above and beyond to make sure you are happy and your project is exactly how you want it to be. We were having issues with the "wall" in our RV pad being at an angle (see picture from 2nd story window below), making it hard to park our fifth wheel. We would park it, but it would stick out 4 feet into the driveway. With the new wall, we can park it all the way in and actually put the stairs down. I am a customer for life. Next up! Sprinkler system.

11/2019 - These guys did a phenomenal job creating a retaining wall on a hill I had no idea what to do with. They process for a quote was relaxed, and timely. Russ came out and looked at the wall and immediately knew what to do. His quote was very reasonable.

We barely had to wait a month for them to have time to complete the job. It took the crew about two and a half days to complete. They were clean and respectful, and an all around talented group.

I would highly recommend these guys. I will be calling them in the future with landscaping needs. Thank you!

I see the great reviews. Too bad my experience was with someone I never even want to see again. Extremely rude and unwilling to listen to any input. A very self serving arrogant uncomunicative hard to deal with person. I recommend stearing clear.

Neyda is incredibly knowledgeable about agriculture and everything the county needs for permitting. I highly recommend Neyda.

Great service! Our go to landscape business!

Neyda is a nice person, but sadly unorganized. She missed our first appoint, didn't clarify what day to meet for our next appointment so I was waiting for her, and then I never received a quote from her. Very disappointed.

I am very sorry about the confusion on schedule and appointments. That is not how we work. In over 20 years of professional practice, this is the first time we receive a negative review. Let me explain what happened. The work you requested from us is delicate in nature and regulated by the City of Portland. I was looking at picking up from what was left by other contractors. Part of my job is to conduct due diligence and bring all the facts to the table and avoid surprises of any nature. I need to know if the job you had started, had already been permitted, needed to be inspected, etc... I can not simply just jump on a new job blindly. That would have been irresponsible from my part.

I bear responsibility for the confusion on the schedule. I am sorry for the inconvenience and the time you invested.

I have spent lot of my own time researching the job and requirements to be code compliant in Portland.

I wish you the best on completing the job with a contractor of your choice.
