Our experience with Landscape East and West was first class. We worked with Cindy and were very impressed by her attention to detail and prompt response to all of our questions. The project ran smoothly and was finished ahead of schedule. We were very pleased during every step of the remodel project. We are very happy with the work they did in our backyard, and are excited to work with Cindy and the entire crew at Landscape East and West next year when we remodel the front yard. Highly recommended!

We undertook our biggest home remodel ever last summer, basically a studs out redo of our entire yard for our new (to us) home. The yard had been landscaped years before, but had been left to languish so it all needed to be bulldozed and redone. We cannot say enough good things about Landscape East & West, in particular Lee Glasscock and the crew that worked on our project. We were not the biggest job for them, but they always treated us like we were their #1 customer and were with us every step of the way with excellent suggestions, solving issues / changes that inevitably come up in a project. We absolutely LOVE our yard, patios and deck. Lee and our PMs were great to work with, and their entire team is committed to quality and getting the job done right and well the first time. You are in excellent hands with Landscape East & West and we would recommend them with no hesitation from start to finish! Kat and Josh, West Linn

This last year Landscape East & West installed a new paver patio at our home in Oak Grove to replace our existing decomposed granite patio. The job was done very professionally and on time. Tony Livermore was very helpful in designing the layout, and in following up on the installation as it progressed. His crew was very detailed oriented and respectful of their job site, treating it as somebody’s home. We are very satisfied with how the project turned out and have no hesitation in recommending their firm.

We are repeat customers of Landscape East & West, and we've had excellent experiences with them. About 3 years ago we had our back patio installed, along with a retaining wall. We loved it so much that we went to our next phase of outdoor improvements and this past October had Landscape East & West install a front deck, another retaining wall, and excavate our side yard. Next year we will complete phase three which includes planting foliage.
Also, it's worth noting that Lee has provided valuable insights and recommendations with both phases. We are looking forward to having more work done next year. -
Lee, our senior designer/project manager, Nathan, the on-site manager, were a pleasure to work with for our backyard project. Great communication, truly cared about the quality of the outcome, and attention to detail to minor troubleshooting along the way also. They earned our trust in order for us to have hired them to continue with some necessary annual maintenances around our home as well, after the project was finished. Thank you Lee, and the team at Landscape East and West

We selected Landscape East & West to transform the outdoor space around our Portland Craftsman home from sloping grassy hills to useful terraced gardens with patios. They managed all aspects of the work, including: the initial design consultations and cost estimates; the engineering and permitting for extensive hardscape installation; the demolition of century-old crumbling concrete stairs and walls, and the pouring of new concrete; the design and installation of critical drainage and lighting across the property; the design of a planting plan, and creation of a beautiful garden across the new terraced yard.
Communication with our lead sales manager and designer, Bjorn Nordquist, was professional, timely, friendly, and always helpful, with Bjorn presenting options and recommendations at decision points throughout the project. Business owner Steve Stewart was also regularly involved, providing insight and suggestions, helping solve project challenges, and adding welcome humor during the many months of work.
The onsite Installation Crew, managed by project manager Mac MacDonald, worked very hard over many months under a variety of weather conditions, moving up and down the hillsides while transforming the space into its final design. Always quick to respond to a question or project challenge, Mac was a terrific partner every day over the course of our project.
Landscape East & West was instrumental in helping us realize our landscaping goals for our home. We recommend them with high regard. -
We could not be more pleased with the sprinkler system installed at our home by Landscape East and West.
Bjorn had done work for us at our previous home several years ago and his excellent workmanship is consistent. He designed our system. He listened to our questions and concerns and then works out best solutions.
We have an established yard and ornamental garden with a variety of garden situations from trees, pots and flower beds in a split level design separated from the lawn by a large, curved rock wall. There are very few straight lines and lots of living obstacles that eliminates machinery usage. Most of the installation required hand tools and physical labor. Sam and Angel did a fine job and they know how to use a shovel. The garden areas have about two inches of soft mulch on top and fifty feet of hard clay soil beneath that. Angel is a surgeon!
Bjorn really worked with us where he could for cost savings. I was able to remove some plants that had to go and my two young grandsons and I spent a wonderful Saturday spreading almost five yards of hemlock mulch covering the installation utilizing only five gallon buckets and hand trowels. How much is five yards? A lot.
I asked for a diagram of the installation so I won't accidentally rupture a waterline in the future. Bjorn drew up a color coded piece of art of the job that proudly hangs on my studio wall for inspiration. He didn't have to do that.
All of my many questions were answered fully. Bjorn even came to the house to teach me how to install new emitter lines or how to plug old ones that will no longer be needed as the garden evolves and water distribution needs change. When I asked about how to turn the system off in a possible emergency, Bjorn demonstrated the location of the correct valve and the provided tool specifically for that purpose. I am hoping I never have to do that but if I do, I have the tool already and I know where it is.
Stephen the company owner even stopped by after the job to hear how it went. It went well. Our next big project will be a new driveway and we will be going back to Landscape East and West when the time comes.
We were initially nervous about the initial price but after experiencing the completed project, the quality of the design and the installation we feel it was well worth it. Bjorn made a very convincing point that the next owner of the our home would almost expect an operating irrigation system and we considered that as value added. It is a point well taken. -
We recently employed Landscapes East & West to completely re-landscape our front yard in SW Portland. As there was no general contractor on this project they had to coordinate their portion of the work with several other specialists, and that seemed to us a seamless process.
The entire staff at Landscapes East & West were sincerely attentive to our interests. They provided detailed recommendations from the start, relevant options, realistic timelines, and fair pricing for their work.
Once the work commenced they were thorough and efficient. When the few, but inevitable challenges arose during the project they puzzled through the various solutions with us so that we solved them together. We appreciate the flexibility and creativity they showed at such times. It was extremely easy to reach them when questions or concerns arose, and Brandon and Mac sustained a collaborative approach from start to finish; it was a welcome relief that there were never any “issues” as occasionally can happen when communication is not so flawless.
We wholeheartedly enjoyed working with them and therefore recommend them without any reservations. We would hire them again but they’ve done such a great job that I don’t think we’ll need to! -
I think my neighbor’s reaction of our newly renovated side lawn expressed the project better than me. She drove by with “honk honk” and “two thumbs up”!
Landscape East & West performed perfectly for this project. Tony was the project manager. Jose and Juan were the two landscapers. The communication of each step was excellent – from scope development to completion. They came on time every day. The job was completed on time and on budget. I highly recommend Tony and his team for any landscaping projects. -
July 13th UPD:
Downgrading to 1 start. Only promises, and nothing is done. The account manager said he'll come down to see what is the issue, and didn't live up to his words.
Degrading quality. Damage to the landscape.
I was quite happy when our HOA (Autumn Hill) switched landscape contractors and got Landscape East & West to service our community. However, with the honeymoon period over - I am observing steady decline in the quality of some services.
While I am not a landscaping specialist, or a professional gardener, and can't comment on everything LE&W offers, some of the basic tasks like moving, edging, cleaning and paying attention to details - those are things you don't need a degree to tell the difference in quality of work. It also happened so that my lawn (as well as probably majority of homes in our community) requires just those services for most of the time.
- Moving is done in the same manner (pattern, trimming height, etc) regardless of the outside conditions or the lawn condition - wet or dry, rain or shine, too hot or not. On top of that for the small patch of grass I have they use quite bulky and heavy equipment, which simply rips the grass when they attempt to turn it around, not mentioning all the furrows left after the same pattern being use over and over again.
- Edging, a simple task, is done regardless whether it is required or not - say in places where plastic landscape edging is used. And the crew seems to not be able to notice plants in the way of their edger, and simply shred those plants.
- Grass trimmings are sometimes left just on the lawn, but mostly are over pathwalks, flower beds and even on the cars next to the area being mowed.
Since I have exhausted the only venue I had - HOA management - for addressing this issues, I hope this comes to LE&W owners' attentions. I bet this is not an isolated incident, as the same crew works on other properties, other HOA etc. -
We recently moved to Lake Oswego and hired Landscape East & West to assist with our backyard including adding artificial turf. True professionals throughout! From the very first interaction, then consultations, advice, direction, excellent communication, transparency and follow through, it was all excellent. We hit a couple of hiccups (as all projects do) and they more than stepped up to fix everything. Highly recommend them!

The team was excellent and the quality of the work was better than I thought possible in such a short time frame. There were some start time adjustments but we were informed regularly and once the work started it was smooth sailing. The crew were professional and nice people. What was once a huge lawn is now a beautiful combination of hardscape and low-water plants. Love it! We would not only recommend them but plan to use them each year for a cleanup.

We have done 2 projects now with Landscape East & West and don't have any complaints. Bjorn was great to work with to come up with the overall aesthetic that would keep us on budget. Mac was our project manager and was very communicative. Of course, house issues were discovered during the project but the team was very good at walking us through what they found and what our options were for repairs. Overall I was satisfied and would use this team again.

We had water leaking into our basement because of poor drainage. Bryan came out right away and discussed the problem and made suggestions for how to fix it. We agreed on a plan and he wrote it up. I was pleased with the sales interaction because it didn't feel like "sales" but like an effort to find the best way to solve a problem.
The super amazing part was the team that came out to do the actual work. Ryan and Jose were super nice and friendly, and always seemed to be genuinely smiling. At the end of the first day they hit a snag: there were multiple *massive* tree roots in our planned path. I was concerned, but they just suggested an alternate plan (which I actually liked even better) and didn't complain that it meant trenching further than expected.
The planned work ended up being done just beautifully, and we can already see how well the new drainage is working. But what really blew me away was the "above and beyond" work that they did. I had some random rocks lying around, that I hadn't decided what to do with, and after asking permission, Ryan built them into my existing landscape! It looks so much better! The drainage exit, which I had thought would just be a pipe end, they built into a lovely little rocky exit that looks more like a garden fountain than a drainage pipe. They also hauled away a significant amount of green waste that I had cut down but which didn't fit well into my bin. They just tossed it all into their truck and said "no problem!" Finally, they used the remains of my mulch pile to cover every bit of dirt/mud around the pipeline (and beyond).
I was expecting a drainage solution, and I got a good one. But I also got a mini yard makeover in the bargain! Ryan and Jose clearly love their work, and it shows. I would hire them again in a heartbeat! -
We’ve had a fantastic experience working with Landscape East & West. Their crews are professional, thorough, and keep our community looking beautiful year-round. Communication is always clear and timely, which makes a big difference in HOA management.
A special thank you to Alex, who is always great to work with—responsive, knowledgeable, and proactive in addressing our landscaping needs. He goes above and beyond to make sure concerns are resolved quickly and that the work is done right the first time.
Highly recommend Landscape East & West for any HOA or community looking for reliable, high-quality landscaping services. -
I have such a high level of respect for this company’s craftsmanship. My perspective from the supply side highlights the critical behind-the-scenes effort required to transform outdoor spaces into a high-quality "outdoor paradises." Maintaining such high standards from concept to completion is what distinguishes this favorite team! Landscape East &West's "no corners cut" philosophy is how they bring long-term integrity to high-end outdoor spaces.

We worked with Landscape East & West for our backyard garden renovation in beaverton. They were fantastic to work with. Brandon was our point person, he was great and very knowledgable! He came and walked through our yard at the very start, talked with me about my vision, brainstormed and polished ideas, and had tons of great advice. From there, he drew up plans, and was great about changes and incorporating my feedback. He was clearly invested in our project, helping choose the best berry species, and designing custom trellises for them. Construction/installation was super fast and efficient. I had a small alteration mid installation, that they were easy about accommodating. The finished product is awesome! They did fencing, a gate, a walkway with pavers, a boulder retaining wall, irrigation, raised beds, berry bushes, trellises and more. Everything is clearly high quality, looks great, and durable. Additionally, we had one tiny maintenance come up, which they were very prompt and reliable about addressing. Overall, would definitely recommend, and looking forward to using them again for future projects!

Terrible. Blew staining mud on painted building, took long time and money to remove and repair. Simple things like growing grass in shade is rocket science for these guys and they charge highly for or say it's impossilbe. I used to do this kind of work. Quality of grounds suffered. Alex Simpsom of the Landscape company said almost $5,000 worth of tree trimming had been completed when nothing had been performed. President of Company very unprofessional about this when confronted. Landscape East West ended up doing a quick "hack job", lacking all professionalism, using long pole chain saws and missed many elementary tree trimming issues, resulting in many water suckers now bigger than the main branches, ugly and dangerous. Noisey equipment, needs maintenance and or replacement, barely do any policing of grounds, make messes when mowing. They added more flood causing material around our already flooding foundations when they should have been able to see they ruined any grass carefully planted and ground sloped partly away from building, making matters worse with the bark dust, fungus clogged the pored and other solutions didn't
t work. I already did some ground probing and knew what needed to be done yet they ignored and did the opposite and made matters worse. Stay away from them. -
We had a wonderful experience with Landscape East & West! Last fall, they re-landscaped our front garden. We were very pleased with the results and look forward to seeing the plants in bloom this spring!
When we moved into our home about 3 years ago, the front garden was a mish mash of plants, and wood violets had overtaken the area as a ground-cover. In addition, we had lost some plants due to a recent heat wave. We worked with Stacey Stewart from Eden’s Gate Landscape Design to create a new landscape plan. Then she recommended Landscape East & West to do the work.
Tony met with us to discuss the plan. We found Tony to be very personable, professional and reliable. He did a great job following our design plan and was prompt when responding to our questions. Jose Flores and Justin Smith were on his crew, and they did excellent work. They arrived on time, worked hard and paid attention to detail.
We would highly recommend Landscape East & West! -
We had a fantastic experience with landscape East and West. They did a great job from start to finish, but what really impressed me was their follow up at the end of their work, Anything that we didn't think was perfect they altered right away so that everything was exactly how we liked it. After a year we had a little bit of swelling on our gate and they came, looked at it, and scheduled follow up to get it fixed right away. I was so impressed with the quality of their work, the professionalism of their team, the timeline that they followed, and then their follow-up even after the project was finished.
So far everything still looks fantastic or even better now that the plants have had time to establish. We are hoping to do more work on the other half of our backyard at some point and plan to use them again! -
Quality outfit all the way around. They aren't going to be your cheapest option, but if you are genuinely interested in quality work and personnel you won't go wrong. We just had them replace our previous asphalt driveway with pavers, and we've heard nothing but compliments from our neighbors since, including both on the completed job and on how relatively quiet the crew were and how friendly when approached with curious questions. I actually enjoyed my interactions with the guys in planning the installation, in watching the work progress, and in discussing the job with them afterwards. Not one complaint from this household. The work has transformed the appearance of our home. Thank you to Brandon, Nathan, Sebastian and the rest of the crew, the concrete pourers (for the apron), everyone! Highly recommended.
