We hired Landscape East & West to design and build our backyard and patio. We live in Portland and worked with Bjorn and Nathan. Bjorn and Nathan were wonderful to work with. Very professional and responsive throughout the process. They were on time in finishing the project. The new patio, lawn and backyard landscaping looks great! We are very happy with their work and would highly recommend them to friends and family!

Brandon Sackett of Landscape East & West designed us the perfect courtyard garden! We wanted a garden that was easy to maintain where we could relax and dine, play with our grandkids, grow some veggies, and that could accommodate our dog. Brandon was an absolute dream to work with and we couldn't be happier with his design! Mac the project manager and Cristobal the work lead and his entire crew were positively stellar–professional, kind, and receptive to all our questions, comments, and ideas. We recently had our Happy Valley backyard landscaping done by Landscape East & West. We are very pleased with the outcome of our backyard renovation. We have had several neighbors come by who have been very impressed and they have provided only compliments about our backyard. The team from Landscape East & West were outstanding. Our first meeting with the landscape designer, Bjorn Nordquist, was very informative and very helpful. With Bjorn’s skilled questioning, he helped us verbalize our ideas into actual plans to create a backyard that would be visually pleasing, functional and low maintenance. Bjorn is an excellent communicator and helped us fulfill the plant selections and sizes that met the requirements set by our HOA. Bjorn would provide additional information to the HOA to explain the process, as well as, alternative options if the HOA did not accept a certain variety of plant or tree. Bjorn was our main contact and advocate in this whole process. It was quite evident that Bjorn was very experienced and skilled with working with HOA guidelines. Bjorn was also very cognizant of our budget and would suggest materials or alternatives to keep the cost within our allocated limits. In addition to Bjorn, we had a wonderful and competent site manager, Mac MacDonald, who was present to oversee the crew during the implementation of our backyard. Mac provided a weekly update and was fully responsive to our communications as the project proceeded.

The construction crew that did the manual labor came daily, Monday thru Thursday, was skilled and very courteous. The names of the men were, Sebatian, Ceseareo, Irwin and Cruz. The crew was very diligent, thoughtful and would routinely clean up after each day’s work.

We reached out to Landscape East & West to do some work on our rotting retaining wall, and we are so so pleased with the result! Tony listened to what we wanted for the project and came up with a design that met our needs perfectly. When he came out to inspect the wall, he took extra steps to identify what was causing the rot and the best way to tackle the project without wasting pre-existing materials that were in good shape. This attention to detail is what ultimately led us to choose Landscape East & West! Tony was clearly experienced, knowledgable, creative and his excitement for the project made for a great experience overall.
The whole team working on the project (carpenters, landscapers, etc.) were very efficient, friendly, and communicated throughout the process.

We recently had our concrete patio/backyard completely redesigned and transformed, and we could not be happier with the results! The team worked at our home in West Linn, and from start to finish the experience was truly exceptional.

Bjorn, Mac, Roberto and team took such great care of us throughout the entire project. They were thoughtful in their beautiful design recommendations, clear in their communication, and incredibly skilled in their craftsmanship. What I loved most was how they took our vague ideas and turned them into a patio that feels both functional and beautiful—honestly even better than what we pictured. They came up with an idea for the space that we had never thought of before.

Landscape East and West created a beautiful updated patio for our family and dog Lucy. We started out with a unkept, unattractive patio that none of us like to use and Bjorn created an outdoor space that we love! They exceeded our expectations about how the space would turn out!
They placed updated stone, synthetic grass, a drain to make sure that we did not have any standing water on the stone floor and the rail so that our dog could safely use our patio. Now we all love to be out there!
Bjorn and Mac and his crew were a pleasure to work with and we will use them again for future landscaping projects.

I recently worked with Landscape East & West to rebuild and extend a large retaining wall overlooking a steep ravine on the edge of my property in Lake Oswego. At every step of the process, I was delighted to work with these folks. After the consultation and planning with Brandon, Irvin and Cesar worked 4 full days to complete the work. Along the way, I had multiple visits and check ins from the site supervisor, Nathan. All of these guys were a pleasure to work with and I am relieved to have a high quality retaining wall in place. I'd happily work with this company again and recommend it without reservations.

This is our second project with Landscape East & West, and we are so incredibly happy with the results.

At our initial planning meeting with Bjorn, we felt that he fully heard our needs, gave us several alternatives to fit our budget, and was communicative throughout the process through several emails and in-person check-ins. He was thoughtful and balanced our needs with what worked best for the environment and topography of our sloped backyard. At our final walkthrough, he spent extra time reprogramming our irrigation system, and gave us useful maintenance tips.

Mac and the site crew did a fantastic job bringing our project to life. The quality of work was top-notch, and the job site clean and tidy throughout the process. Mac and team were so nice to work with, and even met with us to update us on the work.

I had my front yard relandscaped. It included removal of several large trees, existing sod and creating a dry creek bed. New plants and trees, boulders, flagstones and lighting were also added. The process was easy and enjoyable. I worked with Brandon Sackett who came up with a beautiful design. He was able to blend parts of the existing yard into the new design. We discussed plants in detail and adjusted them based on plants I like, ease of maintenance and the presence of deer. When the project officially began, I met the project manager, Nathan Bartlett and he and Brandon walked me through how each day would proceed. We had great communication via text and email and I knew exactly what was happening each day. The project took 7 days from start to finish and the transformation was amazing. I highly recommend this company. They were easy to work with, very professional and I had complete confidence that I would love the finished project.

Landscape East and West created a complete outdoor oasis for our 1912 Portland home in the Mt Tabor neighborhood. Brandon Sackett, the landscape architect did the design, including gates, fencing, pergola, hot tub, retaining wall, stairs, steel planters, lighting, outdoor kitchen, and so much more.
Ours was a complex project with many moving parts and required many specialty laborers and craftsmen.
Nathan Bartlett, our project manager was on site daily coordinating the details and supervising the crews.
The results are magnificent and we cherish the transformation that turned our backyard into paradise.

We had an excellent experience working with Landscape East & West, and especially with our landscape designer, Brandon. We interviewed several landscaping companies, and Brandon clearly stood out for his knowledge in Japanese garden design, including firsthand experience visiting Japan. He immediately understood what we were aiming for—not a strictly traditional Japanese garden, but a Japanese-inspired landscape that would complement our new modern home build.

Brandon was personable, professional, and always punctual. He listened carefully and thoughtfully incorporated many of our ideas into the final design. His cost estimates and project timeline were accurate. It was a refreshing and welcome surprise to see this project stay on track and unfold as planned, after having experienced numerous budget overruns and delays with our other home construction projects.

Brandon was easy to communicate with and very open to feedback, never taking offense when we suggested design changes. We were able to reuse many of the existing trees and plantings from our original basic landscaping. He and his crew were meticulous in their work, and the final result exceeded our expectations.

We also appreciated the flexibility to break the project into phases, which helped us manage our budget and prioritize different areas of our landscaping. Brandon was responsive via email and visited the site multiple times to address design questions and review the finished work.

We couldn’t be happier with the outcome and can't wait to see the garden grow in. We are very much looking forward to working with Brandon again on phase two of our backyard project. Highly recommend.

Have worked with TJ for several years and found him and his co-workers to be reliable, timely and excellent. I highly recommend this company for any sprinkler work that you need done.

I've hired Landscape Services a couple of times over the years and each time they've provided excellent quality work. They built a flagstone path, built a gravel path, repaired a non-functional drainage system, re-graveled a DIY gravel patio, repaired my bumpy lawn. There was one path project which wasn't done quite to my liking, so David sent a crew back to re-do the work without charge or complaint. I will continue to use this company and recommend you do too.
