Preferred Landscape has done our weekly maintenance for a few years now and they have been great. They take the time to walk around and make sure all areas are clean, weed free, etc.

Recently I needed a trench dug for another project. They came out and said it might take a couple of days and they bid for that. It took them less time than they thought it might and they charged accordingly for it. I was impressed by their efficiency and quality of the work once again.

I recommend them for your landscape needs!

We had Preferred Landscape Service pour a concrete sidewalk from front to back and also added two sections of fencing and a new gate to our property. David is very professional to work with and got us bids in a very timely manner. His crew did an excellent job!! We are so happy with the work we are having more fencing replaced and another new gate added!!

Dave is very down to earth and personable. You can tell he is very transparent and honest with his clients with clear and prompt communication throughout, so we all were on the same page on our project from the beginning and all the way through as we made adjustments to our original plan. We had a drain ditch repaired by this company. They workers arrived on time, were polite and informative and did a great job. Our driveway was cleaner when they left then when they arrived. The ditch is doing its job now so the water issue we had has abated. Hoping to get them back for another project soon.

We had an appointment this morning with Geronimo to go over concerns with our lawn. He was very knowledgeable and went over several options with us. Some were things he could do and many were things we can do for ourselves. After taking his time we decided to try the things we can do for the time being. When I offered to compensate him for his time he smiled and said he was happy to do it. When we have a bigger project we will absolutely call him. If your looking for a good job at a fair price he is you man.

We have never had an irrigation system previously until we bought this home. I could tell the system was older and a mishmash of heads and zones. Having zero knowledge of irrigation systems, I took one company’s offer for a free inspection. Of course they gave me a quote and it was 4 figures. So I called Preferred. Based solely on our request, Preferred sent Jose who started fixing everything immediately. Super friendly and efficient. And the price was quite reasonable for doing everything I asked to be done! I highly recommend Preferred Landscaping!

They have been consistent and dependable. I can always rely on them showing up at their designated time to clean, mow and service my yard. They fertilize in the fall and trim back my bushes and plants when needed. The communication is very good as well and my yard looks nice. I am very pleased with the work done.

We had some concrete and synthetic lawn installed in our backyard. Dave and his crew have been so wonderful to work with throughout our landscaping project. Dave made some suggestions that actually saved us money, and during the project, when we had some changes we wanted, Dave completely worked with us on costs and ideas. Their prices are reasonable compared to other quotes we got, and the team always respected us and our property. We will definitely hire them for future projects, and highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality landscaping at a reasonable price.

Very happy with our patio extension. It was done quickly and expertly. It was exactly what we wanted. My only concern is where the patio meets the lawn some sod had to be removed temporarily. When it was replaced it was higher than the patio creating a tripping hazard. I have already tripped more than once. I would like that fixed.

Unfortunately, my experience wasn't very good. I think the problem was mostly communications. Some of it was my own fault for not being more clear. Their foreman had a strong accent and was difficult for me to understand. I never received a written estimate or invoice and lost(apparently) the text I received with the estimate. As a result, I didn't get all the services I thought I was getting and paid a premium price. All of this could have been avoided with better communication.

Great crew, great work. Dave is super easy to work with and communicates well, even when we had a few major hiccups on our end. We’ve done 3 projects with them already and have another scheduled. Highly recommend, 10/10!

David and his crew did an excellent job on a clean sheet of paper re-landscape of our backyard (including excavating, turf and a retaining wall). David is very easy to work with and was attentive to our needs and desires. As for his crew, what can I say, they were great! Hardworking, professional and especially the retaining wall installers displayed an attention to detail and precision I was not expecting. Finally, the price was more than competitive. I recommend Preferred Landscape Services 100%. They will get my future work as well!

Preferred put in artificial turf and extended our patio. Absolutely LOVE it and so do our two dogs. They can go out to play all year round now and it looks great. So professional and great to work with. Highly recommend them.

My experience with Preferred Landscape Services was a mixed bag. On one hand, during the initial phase of defining the scope of the project, the project lead did a great job walking me through my options for what I wanted to have done. He was very responsive as I made multiple revisions to the project's requirements. And, the final product ended up being generally excellent and went a long way to improving the quality of the landscaping for the property.

On the other hand, I was asked for payment before the project was done. I also needed to be intricately involved to make sure things were done correctly. For example, we agreed to replace all cinder blocks around the foundation's vent wells. But the team was not going to replace them all, not tell me, and then just deduct what wasn't done from the second half of the payment to get the team moving onto their next project; until I spoke up about this. There was also a transition between grass and gravel that wasn't going to be squared off nicely, and I needed to sit down with the worker liazon to show him that we needed to adjust this to make it look nicer. And, getting the sprinkler placement correct for the front and backyards was a lot of work. I had asked for all sprinkler placement to be run by me up front, but this wasn't done and I needed to check things as they were going in. No plans were made before installation and were instead done on the day of installation. And, while we made a last minute change to resod the entire front yard, it was not explained to me what that would mean in terms of the grade of the land. We had talked about regrading a small section of the front yard, but the entire front yard got regraded. This ended up raising the land 2-3" above a telecom box that they could not raise because it was electrical And ultimately create problems for the HOA when they mow the front yard. Instead, Ziply Fiber would need to come out, raise it, charge me for that work, and then I'd need to put a new bid in with the landscaping crew to come out and fix the topsoil properly and spend even more money.

To be fair, I could have managed the HOA part better since their approval was needed before work could begin. This likely made it difficult for the team to schedule around this. I must applaude the team for being flexible with the scheduling here because that was likely a headache for them. But even as this was being done, the project lead needed to pause the project until we got clarification with the landscaping HOA lead for how to tap into the water source for the backyard. So both sides contributed to the scheduling difficulty here to correctly work with the HOA, and this highlights the difficulty of having landscaping done for a home that's part of an HOA.

Like I said, the end result is generally excellent, but it was a lot of work to get there and not what I would have expected given the amount of money this project cost. Would I recommend Preferred Landscape Services? Yes, but be as detailed as possible upfront, try to minimize changes while balancing any HOA requirements with what the landscapers can and are willing to do, and get these details in the contract.

Did a great job. The guys that put our French drain in were awesome. Also, they made sure my patio was cleaned off. Would definitely use them again.
