    Orig. post in '22:

Not sure how long they've been doing their work, but they seemed experienced, which makes this even more frustrating.

A couple months ago, we asked them to level our very uneven lawn and remove the blackberries we'd inherited when we bought our house. When we first purchased, the berries were taking up more than half our lawn, which is a LOT. We didn't even know how big the yard really was until we paid someone to come and clear them last year. Well, they came back, and we couldn't keep up with them.

We reached out to PNW and specifically told them when they came by to put together an estimate that we wanted the lawn leveled and the blackberries GONE. They agreed and sent a quote. It was by far the lowest of what we received when we compared with other companies, so we went ahead with PNW.

Turns out the initial quote didn't include any of the materials for putting in a border, which we also mentioned when they came to estimate. So the price went up. No big deal, we thought, it's worth it.

The day finally came for them to get started and they seemed confident they could get it all done in a day. I was skeptical, but optimistic. The weather had other plans, so they got rained out. Again, no big deal. It didn't get done in a day; it took four full work days for them to tear up the lawn, level it, put new soil and border materials in, and reseed. Whatever. We weren't short on time, and it was early in the year. We were excited to finally get something done with the ankle hazard that was our yard.

Well, we followed their instructions ("Water a lot, reseed the patches after a few weeks") and within a month we were starting to see some really great patches of grass come up. Unfortunately, they weren't on the whole yard, but they were peeking through the mulch and gravel borders. Apparently they hadn't thought it was necessary to put down a membrane under any of it, which is ridiculous because (a) Cameron said it would be included to keep the blackberries from coming back so forcefully, and (b) even I know that there needs to be something to keep things from growing in your gravel.

Okay, not the end of the world, I guess? Well, we also didn't expect to have to deal with a weed infestation that we'd legitimately never seen before, new plants that had never been in our yard before. Was it the soil used? Was it the seed? Sure, we knew we'd have weeds to deal with, because what lawn doesn't? But these are nasty. They grow about two feet tall in as many days and they're definitely strangling out any new grass, growing so wide at the base that they block all the sun. Ugh, fine. Weeds are just an acceptable problem. Welcome to homeownership, right?

Here's the REAL issue (on top of everything else): the blackberry problem was not solved. Along with those new weeds we started to see blackberries coming up in areas they hadn't been before, so finally it got to the point where we decided to give them a call and follow up. I spoke with the woman (I'm sorry, I don't remember her name) and got a couple of irritating responses: firstly, that we were meant to "stay on top of the weeds", which was to be expected; when I reiterated that the blackberries were the main concern, she actually told me, "well, we don't dig them up." I'm sorry, HOW DOES A LANDSCAPING COMPANY REMOVE BLACKBERRIES WITHOUT DIGGING THEM UP???

I told her we needed them to come back and fix it and she asked for pictures, to which her only response was "Oh wow. Okay." Within a couple hours, Cameron was back over with the team (walking straight into the yard and knocking on the back door, mind you - again, not the end of the world). He told us, "Normally, we would charge for this, but we want to make sure you're happy," like it was some kind of gift that he'd bothered to fix his mistakes, and "You were supposed to spot-weed the blackberries and weeds." Again, why would they expect us to be pulling blackberries if THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO REMOVE THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE?

We paid them close to $10k and will NOT be calling them again. Do not recommend.

Sad to say my property managers switched over to pnw landscape and I have never seen my lawn or my neighbors in worse care. There was grass a few weeks back.

Pnw Landscapes have been mowing and edging my lawn for over 6 months now and I highly recommend them! Weather permitting they always arrive the days planned, they are fast and thorough, and my lawn always looks great thanks to them. They have a very easy pay system thru email which I appreciate greatly. Every contact I have had with them has been professional, friendly and they are very accommodating. Bottom line they are very good and they very reliable.

They were very prompt when coming out to prepare an estimate. Once they came to do the work, they were efficient, friendly, hard working and kind. They did a fantastic job of weeding and clean up. I will definitely have them back again and would highly recommend them!! Great job! Great people.

PNW Landscapes did a wonderful job on my yard. They are so easy to work with and I have been thoroughly impressed with their quality of work. They contacted me within a hour after I made my initial contact on their website. They are so easy to work with and I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a professional landscaper.

Our yard and driveway have been a mess. We have hired three other landscaping companies and they weren’t as good as PNW! The communication is fantastic and there were email reminders about the appointment time which helps with our busy schedule.

They got the driveway looking like a driveway instead of an extension of our yard/grass, edged, weeded and cleaned up after themselves. I’m excited to be working with them and now I look forward to coming home and seeing our yard each night. :)

These guys are great. They are knowledgeable and professional. They came out and fixed a developing problem to my newly finished yard. A problem they didn’t cause but easily fixed. Any time I need yard services I will call on this crew.

PNW Landscapes are awesome. Easy to work with and did a great job. Cameron and his crew did a lot of work in a timely manner and came over to give me a quote in 20 minutes after I made the call and I had the estimate early the next day. Highly recommend PNW Landscapes

PNW did a cleanup of our small front yard this morning and it looks SO much nicer than it has in a while. They were careful to ask about what we wanted removed or left, took away all of the plant debris and spread bark mulch, which will make up keep much easier going forward. A job that would have taken me many hours they did in a morning. I'm so happy with the results and look forward to asking them back for other projects!

I recently bought a mobile home who's previous Resident let get overrun with weeds and scraggly bushes. Cameron and Marina came by, on a reference from a good friend of mine that also uses their services, gave me a very reasonable quote.. I booked a time slot, they showed up on the dot of their promised arrival time. Cameron then walked me through of my yard, doubly verifying everything that I wanted him and his crew to achieve.. and then all I did was step back, and let them work their magic.
I was impressed with the speed and professionalism they portrayed, with Cameron's doubly checking with me if there were any questions.. and their detail to their final result.
Price wise, very affordable.. quality of work wise, stellar!
I would have no hesitation at all in recommending PNW Landscaping, and am thankful that my good friend recommended them to me..

The experience I had with PNWlandscapes was excellent. The response to my query was quick, they came out the same day after driving back from Portland. Shortly after, I received the bid and was able to accept it with ease. When they came to do the actual work, I had changed my mind about the amount of gravel they were going to lay, and they graciously were able to take another trip that morning to get a second load of gravel-even though I had messed up. They were on time, professional, and very easy to interact with. I would recommend this company.

Great guys, hard working, on-time, love dogs… can’t praise Cameron and crew enough. PNW responded almost immediately when contacted (unlike most others) and fit us right into their schedule upon giving us a bid. Thanks

Night and day difference! The blackberry bushes no longer grow rampant and I can walk from the top to the bottom of the property freely without being stymied by any ten foot long thorny vine snagging on my outfit.
Very thankful for PNW Landscapes crew to reduce the blackberry bramble thicket to nothing peering from the ground! Professionalism with a smile! They have the equipment to take care of these thickets! I give this company high regards and look forward to using their services in upcoming landscape projects. Thank you for the cleanup!

Cameron and his crew were fantastic! They are very responsive, came out on very short notice, and had the job done in under an hour. They mowed my front, side, large back yard, and removed a huge blackberry bush. They cleaned up all the waste and did a final blow out to make sure things were looking great. I really appreciate it and highly recommend them.

We had a lot of damage from the recent ice storm. We needed multiple jobs done which included major clean up, trees, limbs, debris removed and new fencing. When we got a bid for our fencing we were told that we needed to have the trees, limbs and debris removed from the old fences and the surrounding area before they could install any new fences. I asked the fencing company if they could recommend someone. They said to give PNW Landscape a call.
I assumed they knew them, maybe related to them or friends?
I just assumed that because they quickly recommended them.
It turned out they did not know them at all, but they followed behind their clean up work to install fences on other projects.
I thought that meant even more than a personal recommendation because there was no reason to give a good recommendation other than the fence company saw their work.
I called PNW and spoke to Cameron and he was very helpful and made an appointment quickly. He really looked over the job carefully, asked a lot of question be make sure we were on the same page and gave us a bid in a few days.
Then the problems started, not with PNW but with our insurance company. It took the insurance company MONTHS to okay any of our work needed. Cameron hung in there with us, waiting for our insurance company to decide what they were doing and when. Finally, we got the work approved and PNW Landscape set a time to do the work.
They finished the work today !!! They did a GREAT JOB, Cameron was on sight himself working right along with his crew, making sure constantly that he was getting what we talked about done the way we wanted. Anything we wanted to adjust he did it without any complaint, just said 'sure' we'll do it. AND THEY DID ! He kept asking us to take a look at this or that to make sure it was right. His crew were all really great guys and they left the entire job site...which was NOT a small thing, clean as a pin.
We would recommend PNW Landscape to anyone for any type of work you would need done

Just had some landscape work completed. The PNW team was easy to work with (same day quote) and work was completed in a timely manner. They did a great job and excellent job cleaning up the site. I would use them again and highly recommend them to others.

We have several acres in the Thurston Hills which were an impenetrable mess after the January ice storm. Cameron and his crew did a fantastic job of clearing a hillside from fallen trees and debris. They arrived promptly and worked hard all day. We really felt that we got good value from their work. In addition, they were easy to schedule and very nice to work with. We would definitely use them again.

Unorganized. I am a resident where they have a contract. They don’t pick up yard, sidewalk or parking lot debris, they just blow it around! Blow it and trash into the fence line! I’m tired of them blowing compound sidewalk debris onto my landscaped apartment. I work hard to keep it nice, now harder with their inconsiderate and incompetent way of doing business. A piece of fresh bark hit my forehead when the landscaper was weed eating ivy on it! They left the ivy debris all over the new red fir bark, which looks bad and it can propagate! So much for the landlord’s bark ground-cover spent money!

Cameron and his crew did an incredible job with sod removal at my home. He responded to my inquiry in less than 24 hours, provided a very reasonable estimate, and completed the work much sooner than any other company could offer. They were punctual, fast, polite, and left things tidied up and looking great. Would absolutely recommend them!!

We have had PNW landscapes do a big summer cleanup in our yard twice now. They always make sure that you are satisfied with their work and are super honest and reasonably priced. I'm sure we will use their services again.
