I have been a homeowner for over 40 years and have dealt with many contractors for home repairs and maintenance. My experience with Daniel at Portland Metro Electric was one of the best I have had. I was having some electrical issues and decided to have the main panel replaced. After getting two estimates from companies that did heating, cooling and electrical that I thought were high, I decided to get an estimate from a smaller company that did only electrical. My thinking was that their overhead might be lower and therefore more favorable pricing.
The panel that was being replaced was over a foot higher than code. Daniel’s estimate included time for splicing cables which the lowering might necessitate. As it turned out, this was not needed and Daniel adjusted his price accordingly. I doubt that many others would have done the same. I would have had no idea that such splicing was not necessary, and as his original estimate was significantly lower than the others, I would have been happy to have paid it. I was very impressed with Daniel’s honesty and professionalism. It goes without saying that I would highly recommend Portland Metro for any electrical work.

While the problem with our heat was not the thermostat like we suspected, Daniel from PME came by, was incredibly nice and patient and switched out our old thermostat for a new one, while diagnosing and overcoming problems that he encountered. If the boss is reading this, give Daniel a raise!

Daniel and his colleagues Ilya and Daniel were extremely helpful and professional. The job was done well, on time, and at a reasonable cost. They were particularly attentive to design and aesthetics. We will use them again for other jobs.

We recently bought a house and the electrical was left sort of in a mess. Many ungrounded 2 prong plugs, things that were spliced incorrectly, etc. Portland Metro Electric came out and did a full estimate, looking at literally every single tiny little thing. They let us know what needed to be fixed, what was optional and what was unnecessary. They also installed a new plug in our second bathroom, which just didn't have one at all. When they were scheduled, they came out and worked exactly how long they had estimated and it was perfect.

The technicians were fast, efficient, and courteous. The new bathroom exhaust fan looks and works great. Would highly recommend this company!

Daniel with Portland Metro Electric was amazing. He arrived promptly and immediately took care of my electrical issues. My dining room light is no longer tied to the switch for the light headed upstairs to the bedrooms. Yahoo!! What a relief! And the outdoor electrical socket to the gazebo is now per code. Amen. I can highly recommend Daniel and his company, Portland Metro Electric. (Oh, and I’m located in Vancouver-😊)

We contacted Portland Metro Electric to get an estimate for installing a generator. Daniel - owner/operator - came to our home and did a thorough evaluation. He provided recommendations we hadn't considered which were more cost effective and efficient for our needs. We had the company replace our old electrical panel and install a generator interlock. Daniel was highly communicative, on time, and meticulous about every aspect of the work. He also identified aspects of our electrical system that were not up to code and remedied those as well. The first two photos are of the old electrical panel; the third photo is the new panel, perfectly labels and including important safety features. Portland Metro Electric, from the first contact to finishing the work, was professional and thorough. We plan on using PME for future electrical work, and could not recommend them more highly.

Ilya of PME helped us put in a couple circuits in our garage and installed a kiln circuit and several outlets. Both he and Daniel were informative professional and friendly. We would absolutely work with them again!

The team was great over email, was able to line item out a large number of requests so we could decide what to do and what to wait on, got us scheduled quickly, and did everything as discussed. We talked to 4 different electricians who couldn’t check all those boxes. Affordable as well! PME will be our go-to from now on.

I've been in the trades for 20 years and to have an electrician that shows up when he says he's going to, does what he says he's going to do, and then cleans up after himself is very rare and a treat to work with. He does amazing work and is very good at explaining what needs to happen and why. I would recommend him to anybody, and we feel lucky that he had the time to change our panel for us!

Impeccable service from Danny! I am blown away. He showed up and it started to snow heavily, despite the heavy snowfall, he remained committed to completing the 220v installation for my hot tub. He didn’t leave or take a lunch until the project was complete. He truly put his client before himself. His professionalism, punctuality, and meticulous attention to detail were truly exceptional. We had some branches come down in our back yard resulting in our power cable to the garage resting on the patio roof. In addition the original power wrapped around our gutter making it dangerous (this is the last picture). Because of this we decided to bring our power up to code, and add a new meter and mast to the house, route the garage power around our patio with a trench across the yard to the garage. Daniel came out to discuss, he came a second time to double check our panel and ensure we would meet code, so we decided to do the upgrade. We moved the mast to the front corner of the house and went with a single meter (we had 2 meters; 1 on the house with a second on the garage). Daniel completed the initial mast, conduit, trenching, and cable pull in 1 and 1/2 days. Daniel coordinated the permit, scheduled Pacific Power, and the inspections. Once completed we passed the initial and final inspections, in fact the inspector commented on the high quality of the work! I recommend Daniel and Portland Metro Electric for any jobs you may have, large or small! He did our meter / mast updgrade then came back to install a ceiling fan in our living room where we had no ceiling fixture. Thanks!

Ilya did a great job. He was efficient, capable, polite... an all around good guy. He installed the green pendant light fixture in the photo and changed the switch to a dimmer style. All done in an hour and 15 min and with a minimum of scheduling fuss. Rates seemed perfectly fair, around $350.

Portland Metro Electric was incredibly professional. They've been to my home 4 or 5 times in the past year to address many electrical issues identified in a home inspection, and then most recently to install new light fixtures, one into a 20 foot high ceiling - which required scaffolding and considerable precision. Each appointment they arrived on time with a smile and can do attitude, going above and beyond. Definitely recommend them!

Not only is Daniel an exceptional electrician, he is also an exceptional person. Communication with his from start to finish was seamless and easy. He is prompt and prepared. When it comes to completing the job, Daniel skillfully executed the task at hand. He installed an EV charger in my garage and we’re very pleased with his work.
