I've worked with Complete Construction for two major home projects. Both were designed by Complete Construction and turned out better than expected. Complete Construction had a deep understanding of my traditional Portland neighborhood that really showed up during the design process. Both projects ended up costing less than I expected and have become a positive element of our day-to-day family life in our home.

Rick Bluhm is easy to work with, ethical, and thorough. We were lucky enough to have him do a sizable remodel on our home in NE Portland in 2013.
Having had what seems to be a relatively common, horrible experience with a different contractor 10 years prior, we were nervous going into our remodel with Rick. Thankfully, we had no reason to worry.
Rick Bluhm and all of his subcontractors were timely, responsive, and a delight to work with. The quality of their work was and remains outstanding.
Complete Construction built a new front porch and a large mudroom that connected our garage to our home. There were a few tricky elements to the design and they were handled with ease.
What we love about Rick is that over the past 13 years, we have called on Rick to give us advice or guide us when we were facing house-related questions. He always points us in the right direction. Personally, he has occasionally reached out to ask how we are doing, and that means a lot.
Most recently, we experienced a small house fire and Rick was the first person we thought to call. He once again is helping us sort out and fix the damage.

Complete Construction did an excellent job on an attic to bedroom conversion for my old Portland home. They finished on time and within budget, even after accommodating a few changes I requested.

Rick and his team handled a challenging framing issue with our dormers with no problems. He has great subcontractors and was able to get them in and out according to schedule. His trim carpentry is BEAUTIFUL and it’s clearly one of his passions.

I have a construction background and have worked with several contractors for small commercial projects and I’m a tough critic. I have not been able to find a contractor I was comfortable hiring for my own home and Complete Construction was recommended by a designer I’ve worked with. I’m so happy to have found Rick and will definitely use him on my future projects.

Rick at Complete Construction totally transformed our home. We'd bought the ugly house on a great block, and boy WAS it ugly, sheathed in dingy 50-year-old aluminum siding and with not an ounce of personality, at least from the outside -- but it was over a century old and we knew it must've been a looker back in the day. We had ideas for what we wanted to do, to which Rick added some wise suggestions based on his knowledge of old houses. By the time he was done, the house not only looked amazing but (as our savvy neighbor noted) made architectural sense again. It was like he'd reconnected us to our house's roots.

About five years after that job, we hired Rick again to transform our basement, which when we'd moved in had looked like Buffalo Bill's lair from "Silence of the Lambs." >>>REALLY SCARY<<< He and his team gutted the whole level, re-segmented the space into a code-compliant bedroom, bathroom, storage room, and utility space, and painted the busy old ceiling of that utility space a uniform white that makes it look like an art gallery. Fantastico.

Rick puts his heart into it. We like him.

He has done a tremendous amount of work on our home over the years, including remodeling a bathroom, interior painting, designing and building a custom catio for our two cats, rebuilding our wood fence, and completely transforming our three-car garage with new flooring, drywall, and cabinets.

Fast response to repair storm damage. Northwest's repair is the strongest and best looking part of the structure. I would recommend Northwest for any renovation.

Hired to do one job, and he did it well. Hired to do 2nd job, disappeared.

I gave him a sizable deposit and did not hear from him for 2 months. Emailed, called, and texted with no response. This motived me to drive to is house and knock on his door. He answered and said, something along the lines of " I was going to call you." It's been 4 months and the story goes on......

Do not hire, CCB license suspended. Owes others $12,696.67 and owes me $15550.93 for the work he never did.

I needed an emergency roof repair and I called several contractors but I couldn't get anybody out to my house in a timely manner. I called Northwest Renovation Company and they came right out and fixed the problem. No more water intrusion. Great job too!

I couldn't be more satisfied with Northwest Renovation Co. I would highly recommend them for any level of remodeling or renovation jobs you may be doing. We recently used Northwest Renovation Co. to remodel the kitchen, bathroom and a large portion of the living area in our home and have been delighted with the both the process and the results. Having worked in real estate/property development, I have worked with a number of other contractors and know when I'm working with someone who knows the industry and takes genuine pride in the quality of the work they're doing. They also provided us with 3D modeling of what our project was to look like upon completion which was so helpful and helped us really get things ironed out in detail during the design phase. Our project also required removing a load bearing wall that needed engineering which they were able to provide as well.

Both our kitchen and bathroom look amazing, I also really appreciated how hard they all worked towards keeping the remodel on schedule and on budget. Also we only had to talk to the project manager for the whole process and he handled everything. Thanks Justin! :)

Remodeling, or any kind of renovation, can be very stressful. Northwest Renovation Co really helped alleviate the majority of our concerns and I will definitely be calling them for any future improvements.

NW Renovation vehicle was parked incorrectly facing the opposite side of the street outside of our place, completely hemming us in so we couldn't leave. My mom walked up to ask if he would back up or move, and he walks out smirking shaking his head. He proceeds to back up then eventually reparks the correct way, but took up two parking spots so that when we returned home, we were unable to park in front of our place. This employee was extremely rude and inconsiderate, not a good representation of this company by any means.

Nick came out to my rental house to find out where a blocked drain was under the house. He crawled into a tiny crawlspace, found the drain, took tons of pics and then dug a trench outside of the house in the exact location so the plumber could repair the drain. He also landscaped the entire yard that the tenants had let go. I just hired him to do more landscaping at another rental house of mine and will use him for other contruction/repair jobs as well. Nick always texts me right back, shows up on time, is professional and does an excellent job. He's my "go to" guy now!

We hired Nick to address a mold situation in our basement. He did a great job performing a detailed mold scrub that eliminated the problem, and also sealed some spots in the siding of our house for us. We are very happy with the quality of his work, his professionalism and attention to detail. We highly recommend Nick and his company!
