Tree reviews in Portland, Oregon

I'm sure their work is great and all, but the people who live at this place are always on motorcycles or loud cars going up and down the neighborhood at any time of day. revving their engines or just being general nuisances, and are rude when confronted. I am just trying to relax when I get home from my 12 hour days at work and then i have to listen to these people revv the engine of their car nonstop for 20 minutes straight then go spitting down the street. No thanks. Maybe avoid giving business to people who are not kind back to the community

UPDATE: After posting this, the company did refund me for what I paid ($175) plus an additional $75. I appreciate getting the money back, but I'm sorry it had to come to this.

ORIGINAL POST: The company sent two guys out to look at our tree and recommended that we apply for a permit through them ($100 for the permit and $75 for their work to submit it). We paid them the $175 on 7/19/21, and they confirmed that they had submitted the permit to the city. I reached out to them via email 2 months later, which they said would be the maximum time they would expect it to take to get an answer from the city. They did not respond to that email or the several other emails and calls I sent/made over the following few weeks. Then I called the city to see if they could give me an update on the status, and they said the company had never submitted an application for our address. Now we are out $175, will have to submit our own permit and pay the $100 fee for that again, and will have to restart the clock on waiting for the city to reply.

I am so happy with Arbor Viking Trees. They thinned one of my trees and removed dead limbs from both. In addition, they trimmed an arbor vitae in my neighbors yard. They are prompt, cleaned up all trimmings and gave me advice on a Japanese Maple that had damage from the ice storm. I will use them in the future and recommend them to all of my friends. So grateful to Friends of Trees for recommending them.

I have an enormous walnut tree in the backyard that was encroaching on my neighbor's side of the fence. Erik and coworker came to trim limbs up the fence line. Erik carefully explained about not shocking the tree, so did what was good for now. He'll return in a few months to check status and perhaps trim more. At the end of the job, my yard was clear of not only the tree debris but ALL of the squirrel-made mess of walnut hulls, shells, leaves, twigs. What a gift! And thanks, Darryn, for being so great over the phone in the office.

Arbor Viking has worked on our trees every spring for the last few years. They are very professional and friendly, they do a great job and they don't charge too much. I recommend them without hesitation.

We needed to have a couple of broken branches removed after storm damage. I contacted Arbor Viking, and they got in touch within 24 hours. They were quick to schedule, and then reached out because they had an immediate opening. The crew was extremely safe when it came to COVID protocols, and communicated their pricing and process really clearly. They were so kind to our kids who said hello through the window (it's entertainment, for sure). It was a breath of fresh air to hire a kind, talented crew who took the time to give great customer service along with their skilled work. We're so grateful for this company: they went above and beyond our expectations. We've found our new tree crew!!

Needed to get some trees down ASAP, called 4 people with good reviews and Erik was probably the most professional of the people I talked with. He was about 8% higher than the next guy price wise, so the SO decided cheaper was better. As soon as we told the other guy we were going with him and started working with the county for the permits, the cheaper dude ghosted us. We had a time constraint on the permit that was already approved with the other company, but Erik helped sort it out, got a traffic control plan to satisfy the county engineers, and was cutting those trees down within a week.

The service was within the price range I expected, amazing service - they barely even left any sawdust in the lawn, and they had two large trees disappeared within 4 hours. If I ever need tree service again, these guys have my business.

These guys cut down a couple dead pine trees on my family's property. Every interaction I had with them was very pleasant. They all seemed like genuinely nice people, and they did great work. They also left the property looking good; very neat and organized. To top it off, their prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend Arbor Viking to anyone. Support your local small businesses!

Great job with storm cleanup, thinning the tree canopies of large maple trees. On time, quick and thorough cleanup, professional work, and readily responded to feedback. Small company so their bid was a little slow in coming but worth the wait. Eric is very knowledgeable and I felt very confident with his recommendations. I would recommend and use again.

Exceeded expectations. Cut and removed a large limb that had grown to within an inch of the roof. Friendly, efficient, reasonable and cleaned up the area afterward. Highly recommend.

These guys are the best! They called me within 3 hours my initial on line inquiry and came to my house the next day for consultation and pricing. They arrived on time two days later and did an excellent job doing major trimming on a 100 yr old problematic maple that overhang my home from adjacent property. They were very conscientious and professional. There were huge limbs overhanging my home, and nothing ever touched it as they did there work. They did all the work as we had discussed. After their cleanup, there was no trace of the major work they had performed. I really liked this small family owned operation. They don't have shiny $400 thousand dollar trucks and equipment. Good old fashioned skilled high climbers who did a great job.

We had two trees pruned, two very large shrubs removed and Eric did a wonderful job. He responded immediately to my message, came on time and did an expert job in a timely manner. I would highly recommend Arbor Viking for all tree services.

Had this company come and do a deep trim of my apple tree. I would recommend this company to everyone for tree service. All 3 that came were very nice and did an excellent job. They hauled all the cut and broken branches away. My tree is happy and so am i!

Highly recommended! Everyone from Arbor Viking that we interacted with was friendly, knowledgeable, hard working, and eager to please. We were happy with the value we received for the very reasonable price. They did a good job on our large trees and small fruit trees, and had good ideas to keep improving tree health in the future. We look forward to working with them again.

They removed my English Holly tree and ground the stump plus two maple tree stumps. Looks great!

Woww. Sean and All Heart Tree Service just did our trees. We have quite a few old growth trees we love. And he did an amazing job in lifting their “skirts” and removing the lower dead branches. His work was very professional - he pointed out dead dangerous limbs we hadn’t noticed that posed real threats - removed them and didn’t charge us all that much more. I highly recommend him.

Sean took excellent care of our beloved old growth trees! He & his crew were on time, well organized and very friendly to work with. Safety seemed to be a priority, and Sean pointed out several dangerous limbs we had not previously noticed. He went above & beyond our original bid as a result, but did not overcharge us. In my opinion Sean is " The Heart" of All Heart Tree Service, and I would highly recommend him!

Sean does amazing work! All of my neighbors give us so many compliments. He takes his time and does careful selection of what type of trimming is the best and healthiest for each tree species. It's just him so he really cares about the quality of work, and provides different levels of quotes based on how aggressive you want the work to be performed. We were very happy! It looks so natural. Nothing looks hacked.
