Electrical reviews in Salem, Oregon

We contracted with Abiqua. Our contracted price for our home build was 40-42 k. For context there absolutely was issues from our lead contractor and we had pause the work. We fired the lead contractor as he messed up.
At the time of the pause we had paid Abiqua ~29k which it’s about 70-75 % of the total bid.
After the pause we requested a completion of the work. Time frames did not work, and we requested contract release, that was granted.
Our new electric guy was surprised at the extent of need to complete the job.
I was told the above numbers, you have paid 75% and the job is only 20% done.
I called Abiqua to request the cadet heaters, they had placed the holders for and was told, no that is part of the trim package. OK I can accept that.
I later called asked the covers to bathroom heaters they installed. The lady was pretty snotty about that too. After many emails and phone calls they relented. It took me ~8 weeks to get the covers.
So basically I have ended up paying 2x for the job since Abiqua didn’t actually live up to the contracted price.
I also asked for a detailed cost analysis.
Only thing they would provide me is a bill which said you owe X. I again asked and their response was we don’t give that. -
We've had the pleasure of having Doug and his team do all of the wiring for our new home. He also had is crew out to do some other electrical enhancements recently. Abiqua Electric is always responsive, professional and a delight to work with. We have worked with a number of electrical contractors and Doug Abiqua is one of the very best. He has done right by us and we keep him on our speed dial. I recommend Abiqua for any kind of electrical work that you need.

Disappointing Experience – Use Caution
We’ve had two negative experiences with Alpine Electrical—first during a new construction project where they attempted to bypass our contractor, leading to confusion and partial double billing. Most recently, we were charged $880 to move two floor outlets, including $250 for parts, a $75 fuel surcharge, and 3.5 hours of labor—no details were provided upfront, and the invoice was a surprise. We won’t be using them again. Strongly recommend getting detailed estimates in writing before any work begins. -
I recently had Alpine Electrical out to install 3 outlets and a switch. Matt was able to squeeze me in between other appointments and get me in within a week. The electrician was polite, prompt, organized and worked quickly. Alpine Electrical came highly recommended and I will definitely use and recommend them in the future.

Great help over the counter and if they don't have it in stock they can usually get it the next day.
-
Great customer service. They had the part that I was in a jam for at an excellent price. The only other guy in town that had it wanted more than twice the price. Top notch!

Just like the screenshot picture I took off of oregonian live reviews when you go in to this company they make you feel stupid.. I asked the guy if they had something that would connect 4 wires together, He told me that I should ask an electrician that question I thought this store was to purchase Electric supplies I would assume the person behind the counter would know what they're doing if they work and establishment like this. Horrible customer service.

I was looking for a contactor and I didn't know much about how to read the spec labels. Instead of being frustrated, they explained everything to me. It's very rare for someone to take time to teach someone something. Thanks Guys.

I bought the new guardian benders from Platt. I used them once and I found them to be a gimmick and the angle setter did not work. I tried to return them and they said they won't return tools in used condition. I am highly unimpressed with their return policy and will purchase tools from Home Depot or Amazon which has a great return policy when tools don't work out. Their return policy was not obvious to me when I walked in. I should have done my due diligence, and asked before I had bought them. In conclusion, their return policy is lacking and I will take my business elsewhere in the future.
