Paul was very patient with us as he explained the options while we were choosing the pattern and colors for our stamped concrete project. He had a full selection of samples that made it easy to visualize the many options. Paul did a great job keeping us informed of the schedule and all the steps were performed on time just as he described. We are happy with the way our project turned out.

I contacted A & S via yelp and Paul responded same day and came to give a quote the next day, for our backyard concrete patio demo and redo as well as a cement pathway for the side of our house. I received 3 quotes. A & S was the most expensive but after reading sketchy stuff on the CSLB about the other contractors , I thought the higher price was worth it. It was a good choice. Paul and his crew came on schedule and did a very nice job. What I liked about Paul is that he is patient when I was trying to decide what to do on a limited budget. I will definitely be calling him again for our future landscaping projects.

Paul Sarkis was a pleasure to work with and I am very pleased with the new concrete driveway and front paths he installed at my duplex. He and his team were professional, prompt, clean and efficient. He easily accommodated an additional request for masonry repair on my brick trim fascia. I especially appreciated his flexibility and understanding on the often changing timeline of my many projects on the property which affected his planned work schedule. Highly recommend!

We had over a 100 foot wood retaining wall, was a unique combination of standard needs & ability only to approach from one side. Paul worked with us and our neighbor to coordinate design, schedule between accessible periods, not to mention rain over several months. Our family is very pleased with the work done by Alexander and Sons. They completed a beautiful full landscape redesign and implementation at our home. This included all steps of the project including concept, design, preparation, demolition of existing concrete (patio, driveway, etc.) and all steps of the new project. This was an extensive project. We were kept informed regularly of the status, next steps, and any decisions required. Worker arrived on time, were well-mannered, performed their work well and in the time specified. The job site was well-organized and kept clean. We enjoyed working with the team and are thrilled with the results which fully met our expectations. We now have a very pleasant garden and yard to enjoy with family and friends and are happy to recommend Alexander and Sons.

Paul Sarkis and his crew did an outstanding job at our home; on-time and on-budget. The project included removing some very thick old exposed aggregate concrete and replacing it with very nice stamped concrete - interesting color combination and pattern. The project also involved some stone over concrete - expertly completed. Paul was very helpful in choosing the colors and patterns for the stamped concrete that we liked and that went well with the area environment. He was willing to try something a little different during the pour, and it turned out great.

If we ever have future work, I'll make only one call - to Paul.

Based on a referral from a trusted friend, I contracted Alexander & Sons to redo my patio and build a couple of retaining walls.
I'm an engineer and quite particular about the details of my projects. Paul was very detail oriented and available with very short notice to answer my questions and adjust things to my satisfaction. He is easy to work with.
Demolition took about a week. Another week for framing and concrete pour. The crew came back a few weeks later for final sealing. Besides the patio and retaining walls, we also redid the grading, drainage, and included receivers for downspouts. The attention to the project was excellent as was the level of effort from the work crew.
I have already contracted Alexander & Sons for part two of our backyard remodel and plan to use them for the front porch too.

Update: Part 2 of our backyard project is complete and the pool deck looks as good as the lower patio. The work done by Alexander and Sons continues to meet my expectations. I plan to use them again for the final project on our house, the front porch.

We hired Alexander and Sons to revamp our backyard, including sections with stamped concrete, a lawn area, a play area, a pergola and some planter areas. Throughout the evaluation process, Paul was very responsive to questions and provided recommendations based on his experience. We also went to his showroom to pick out materials and had the option to hire a designer but ultimately went with our simple design.
Throughout the construction the crew always arrived and left on time, and we could see the attention to detail they had. With large projects like this there is bound to be new discoveries, Paul was always upfront about them and presented options with various costs for us to choose from. In the end the project was completed on time according to our specifications. Even though they were not the least expensive company we had talked to, we had confidence in him based on the quality of his work and his extensive experience in the business. On top of that, Paul would always keep us informed on progress, was humorous and easy to work with, which lowered the stress level with large projects like this.

My family, especially the kids, are now loving the new backyard, which turned out beautifully. We would highly recommend Paul and definitely hire him again for other projects in the future!

We've contracted with Alexander and Sons for several HOA projects over the years. Paul's crew does a great job!

We had Paul redo two of our aging retaining walls. After a very clear estimating/proposal process during which Paul answered any questions we had, he was always available during construction. In fact, he showed up onsite most mornings when work was being done to check on things and talk over progress.

Anytime something would come up, Paul made sure we discussed it and found the best path forward. He managed getting materials up our hill in the mountains (no easy feat) and made several adjustments to changing conditions soft wrist, rain, etc.) His crew worked hard each and always cleaned up after they were done. The end result is two great looking walls that should stand firm for many years to come. Great crew & great work.

Very pleased with the job that Paul and team did! They installed a new driveway with stamped concrete and a curvy brick path (see photo). It has gotten so many compliments from neighbors and complete strangers!

The demo and concrete were done in just a few days. The herringbone brickwork took quite a bit longer, but was totally worth it. Everyone was very professional, and Paul was especially responsive by email and phone. One hiccup was that the water main was broken in the demo because it was directly beneath the old concrete, instead of a foot or so below. No problem. Paul had a plumbing team out the same day and got the water back on by evening. And the water main needed to be upgraded to copper anyway.
