I had this company tear down and rebuild a retaining wall along my drive way. I also asked them to convert my one car drive way into two. The owner, Mike is very nice and easy to work with. He is reliable. The workers are friendly. And anything that needed to be adjusted or changed was not done until we communicated and decided together. Great company. Great work! And would definitely recommend.

Mike and his team replaced a couple of cracked concrete steps and 5 wooden steps in the front of our house. Everything was done well in a timely fashion and the team of guys he had working with him were all very proffesional. I always recommend Schellhaas Landscape Construction if you need some outdoor work done!

Mike was wonderful to work with through the entire process! He worked with my Wife and I until we were happy with the design and stayed in constant contact through the entire project. We're very happy and will be looking to Mike and Schellhaas Landscape again in the future!

Mike Schellhaas and his men did an outstanding job replacing our front steps. They were all gentlemen, professional,and real craftsmen. The job was successfully completed on time and the cost was fair and reasonable. I highly recommend Mike for your concrete work and construction projects.

Mike and his crew did a great job on replacing my 20+ year old wooden retaining wall. They matched the stone used to the retaining wall in the front which was great. It involved a lot of labor intensive work to tear out the old wall my hand (it is in the backyard of my townhouse so no easy way to bring equipment in) and hauling away the debris. The crew was quiet and worked hard over two days to replace the wall and put river rock along the back of my house. Mike even made sure to have a drain in the wall with a drain cover over it so water will not damage anything. It looks so much better and I appreciate the quick response, friendliness and professional nature of the entire crew. I would definitely recommend Schellhaas Landscape Construction for any landscaping project.

Mike, the owner, came out for the estimate and thoroughly explained a detailed plan with options for me for my complicated retaining wall. The crew was punctual, professional, and so kind. Schellhaas Landscape Construction did a great job for us in 2019 on an Ohio stone retaining wall, so when we wanted to add outdoor living space to our backyard, we gave Mike a call. He more than lived up to our expectations. This time, we gave him some pictures, talked about our ideas, and let him go to town. SLC built us a paver patio, a beautiful, massive grill island with a granite countertop, and a natural gas fireplace. Mike and his crew are professionals in every sense. In addition to being highly skilled, they are friendly, respectful, and responsive. Mike is easy to work with. He listens to ideas, researches answers to questions, and doesn't hesitate to consult with other professionals. He made our decisions about colors, textures, and materials easy because he has a great eye for envisioning how everything coordinates in the end. From day 1 of receiving a quote to the final day of installation, Mike has been the best contractor we have worked with to date! He truly cares about your project as if it is his own house he is working at! We had a patio installed with steps that lead down to the driveway and it turned out amazing! Him and his crew arrived every single day on time, worked in the rain and even some snow flurries (in May!). He took us through step by step of the process and helped us with choosing material. They cleaned up great at the end of each day and Tommy was so sweet with our 5 year old curious son. They are reliable and trustworthy and I wouldnt of chosen anyone else! Schellhaas Landscape Construction completed an addition to our existing patio to accommodate a fire pit bowl. Mike and his crew were professional, knowledgeable, detail oriented, considerate, and personable from the beginning to the end of the project. We hired Shellhaas Landscaping to complete a major retaining wall, front entrance, and driveway project in early 2021. From beginning to end Mike and his crew were the ultimate professionals and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. During the initial walk-down, Mike took his time, asked questions, and took meticulous measurements to submit an accurate proposal which was right in line with the other bids we received. In addition to his attention to detail during bidding, their some-what unexpected immediate available solidified the decision to award the work to Schellhaas.
During construction we had the same crew leader and nearly all the same workers throughout the duration of the work. The crew arrived consistently on time and cleaned up at the conclusion of each work day. Work was completed on time and within the budget quoted; a small change order we requested was the only deviation from the original quote.
As far as quality, not enough can be said. The materials chosen (actually recommended by Schellhaas) and the quality of installation are impeccable and we consistently get compliments from our neighbors.
Our only regret is that Schellhaas only does hardscapes as we would gladly hire them for other projects! Their attention to detail and customer service should serve as a model to all contractors!

I began planning on extending my driveway in March. I also had a retaining wall that was 20 years old and caving in. Since I was going to go ahead with finding a company to do the work I also added a set of steps to the plan.
I had an estimate from Mike Shellhaas LC which included a digital design that Mike does for his customers.
Mike and his team began the job and showed up early every day and worked all day with little noise or interruptions unless we needed to review any changes.
I can honestly say that I am very happy with the professionalism and dedication Schellhaas and his team showed during the entire job start to finish.
I would personally recommend this company for any retaining wall, concrete, steps, etc. that you may need done. They are very hard working and easy to work with.
If you want to get an estimate, I recommend contacting Mike Schellhaas company before you choose a contractor. You won’t be sorry. Thanks Mike, Tommy and Christian. Great work.

Mike and his team far exceeded my expectations in both service and delivery of the final outcome. He and his crew operate with outmost professionalism and diligence. They started my large wall project in February of 2018. We experienced many days of inclement weather that did not stop them! They showed up, shoveled 8 inches of snow off the wall and started working hard. I am truly impressed by Mike and his crew! I would not hesitate to refer Mike to close friends and family.
