Bad for firewood. Hillside nursery is not good for firewood. I ordered a half cord which was $250+, totally overpriced. It was delivered a day late, and came with about 500 pounds of dirt, rocks, and debris. No lie. Terrible. The firewood pieces were huge too. I’ll have to recut basically every piece to fit in my fireplace. You have been warned!

If there was an Olympic gold medal for “Super unfriendly nursery attendant” this place would win hands down.
I drove out to the nursery today looking for flowers for my father’s house. It really was unpleasant.
The nursery itself is fine. The flowers look nice and fresh and all that but the woman at the cash register is just really rude. No smile, not pleasant at all, I was trying to speak with her and she was more interested in whatever was on her cell phone. I felt like she made a mental decision that she didn’t think that I was going to spend any money so she wasn’t going to be bothered with answering questions or helping me. Like Whitley Gilbert at the jewelry store.
For me, it’s a hard pass. I would never go back to this place and I would never recommend anyone else go there either.

Sorry, but no. I think I visited this business at their other location many years ago,, but something told me to stop by here one day. When I pulled in there was only one other car in the parking lot. No workers outside to greet or doing any work. I saw a few plants, but none that looked like they could possibly be for sale. They were mostly brown, not much leaves, fruit, etc. I thought maybe this was a discount section, some plants people could maybe bring to life (with a couple prayers). As I walked further, there were plants with more life, but none seemed to happy or worth spending money on (they were marked pretty high). I attempted to go inside the "structure", but there was nothing appealing. I immediately walked back to my car in disbelief...

As the only nursery in my area I was hoping for big things, but it wasn't really a great experience. They "don't really do houseplants", which is certainly a stance a nursery can take. Even with that, there was a very limited variety of actual plants to purchase. Not a great variety of style and size for pots, either. There didn't seem to be much care for the houseplants they did have (mostly leggy succulents) beyond simply watering them.

To top off the experience, at the checkout inside I was treated to the smell of freshly lit cigarettes.

Likely won't be back.

If you're into Landscaping, or you're just looking to beautify your home. This is definitely my go-to place. Why go to Home Depot or Lowe's or any of those other chain stores and purchase dead flowers? Why not come to Hillside Nursery to purchase your flowers. I have been patronizing them for over 2 decades their flowers are reasonably priced, and hardy. They have a huge selection of everything you need for your horticulture needs. I only purchase from them and I would definitely recommend this place.
